The Crown's Seduction-Chapter 347: Come back to me
Chapter 347: Come back to me
"Lai... Please, wake up... Oh, please. I’m so sorry..."
Mineah was sobbing hard as she pressed on her husband’s bleeding chest. He was unconscious in front of her, and she felt like she was going to go crazy just from the thought of losing him. She had stabbed the right person. She was sure of it. She saw the golden color of Vulcan’s life essence and soul inside Nikolai’s heart, and she made sure that she pierced it with the divine dagger. She didn’t aim for Nikolai’s heart, so why was he bleeding profusely like this?
"Oh, please... Lai... Don’t do this to me," she pleaded. "Wake up and come back to me!"
"Your Majesty! Please wake up! You’re having a nightmare!"
Mineah slowly opened her eyes the moment she felt someone shaking her shoulders. She didn’t mind how dizzy she was getting when she jolted up from bed to quickly look for Nikolai. She was sweating all over, and she was panting for air as she tried to look for him. ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com
"Lai?"
"You’re finally awake. You’ve been unconscious for almost a day now," Zaila sighed in relief. "How are you feeling, Your Majesty?"
Turning to her side, Mineah finally felt her body calming down as her eyes softened at the sight of her husband. "I’m already well, Zaila," she weakly replied. "How is he?"
Sighing, she gently touched his face. Thankfully, he was a bit warmer now than before. It was only a dream, and yet she felt so relieved that Nikolai was with her like this. By her side... She would definitely not lose him!
"He’s still not waking up, Your Majesty," Zaila started. "It’s the side effect of how His Majesty drastically used up his power while he’s under Vulcan soul’s control."
From there, Mineah listened as Zaila briefed her on the situation and why her husband was in that kind of state. Her shadow maiden also mentioned what was currently written in the magical books regarding the recent events and her husband’s condition.
"Chancellor Abel and Lord Fritz already hypnotized and compelled the rest about this," Zaila further added. "I’m the only one remaining since I have yet to brief you about this situation. I’m still closely monitoring King Ezekiel’s condition as well."
Mineah nodded in understanding as she carefully and quietly moved out of bed. Zaila quickly moved to try and help her, but she quickly raised her hand to stop her. "It’s fine, Zaila. I’m able to handle things from here," she insisted. "Thank you for informing me about all of this. In the meantime, how is my brother?"
"We’re keeping him in the secret chamber next to Zoran," Zaila replied. He’s powerful, Your Majesty. Until now, his body is still reorganizing the great power now dwelling inside him."
Again, Mineah nodded in understanding. "There’s nothing to worry about. My brother will be able to handle Vulcan’s power since he’s been Vulcan’s host for years," she reassured her. "That power chose to attach itself to him again instead of disappearing like the divine dagger with Vulcan’s soul, I think. The power had already grown accustomed to his body, which was why things ended up like this..."
"So what would he be now then? I mean, is he still like you, a Nephilim? A half human half angel that absorbed the dragon’s power?" Zaila curiously asked. "He’s also like a dragon now, right? Will that enable him to shift into a dragon too?"
"Hmm, I’m not sure about that part, Zaila, but everything inside him will eventually mutate. At the very least, I’m confident that my brother will be able to handle everything," Mineah firmly stated as she reassured her friend.
"He had managed to have full control over that great power even while Vulcan’s soul was still inside him, so it should be a lot easier for him now to control it without Vulcan’s soul going against him. I’m confident that my brother will use this power not to harm, but instead rebuild and create a new world where peace will prosper. This is the heaven’s will, I’m sure."
Devon had done everything to try and take this great power, but like what was written in the magical book.
’A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones... The wicked’s heart will rot and it must be removed. The light always shines in the darkness, and the darkness will not overcome it.’
Her brother’s light shone brightly enough that the dragon’s power was drawn towards him. It knew what it was like to be in the light, thus, it wouldn’t choose to rot in the darkness that Devon’s aura reeked with.
"Also, you should know that King Ezekiel keeps saying Seer Tarah’s name. He woke up looking for her, but before we could answer him, he passed out again." Zaila informed her. "We don’t know what to tell him about the Seer as well. What happened to her, milady? Nothing about her was written in the magical books..."
Shaking her head, Mineah took in a breath before she replied. "She helped me a lot. We were all saved because of Tarah," she stated. "The last time I saw her, she was confidently saying that she had a way to escape Devon. Knowing that I can only trust and hope that she escaped through one way or another..."
"She took well to learning spells directly from wizard Lurio, last I heard," Zaila hummed as she nodded. "I’m sure she’ll manage to take care of herself."
While she nodded back in approval, Mineah couldn’t help but frown as she thought of the young five-year-old-looking boy that Tarah was carrying on a piece of fabric tied securely behind her back. She could only wonder if her brother knew about this as well. Who was that boy?
Shaking herself from her musings, Mineah decided that it was a thought better saved for another time as she glanced back at Zaila. "Call for me once he regains consciousness, Zaila. Tell him that I’ll explain everything to him..." she insisted. "For now, go and stay by my brother’s side to monitor his condition. I’ll be taking over looking after Nikolai from now on."
"Also, please send word to my Mother to come here with wizard Lurio," Mineah added right after Zaila nodded at her. "I need to explain everything to them too."
"Of course, milady."
With that, Zaila was dismissed, and Mineah simply sat on the edge of the bed as she grabbed Nikolai’s hand and gently rubbed her cheek against it. "Just wake up soon, Lai. I don’t care if you remember me or not..." she whispered to him. "Just come back to me soon..."
