Mineah raised an eyebrow at her husband. Like her, Nikolai seemed startled with how he reacted. Quickly composing himself, he tried to relax as he brought his sour and dark frown back into his usual straight expression.

"I mean... I don’t like my Scions drinking human blood," he quickly explained with a straight face. "It’s not proper for them to drink from their Queen, let alone even get a whiff of your blood."

Mineah creased her forehead at his answer. Staring at him intently, she further asked, "Up to what part did you see?"

Nikolai let out a heavy sigh and replied, "Enough for me to grasp the current situation. I would be drinking too much of your blood if I wanted to see further, and I don’t want that." He gave her a noncommittal grunt as he added, "I’ve seen enough. If I’m still confused about some minor details that I didn’t witness through your memories, then I’ll ask you directly about them through our bond."

Mineah nodded in understanding, knowing to no longer push the topic since her husband really didn’t like drinking her blood despite the fact that he loved it.

"Fair enough," she hummed as a smile lovingly etched itself onto her lips. "Alright then. Let’s get back to bed."

She moved to get up from his lap, but to her surprise, Nikolai firmly held onto her. She then naively stared at him in response, but somehow, she already had an idea on what this was all about. He was still hard down there, so she could only imagine the discomfort and turmoil he was currently feeling.

"I... I’m nocturnal," he mumbled.

Mineah tried her best to hold her laughter back. "But I’m not nocturnal, Lai. I need to sleep and rest," she answered with a pout. "I’m sure you saw in my memories how sleep-deprived I’ve been just waiting for you to wake up."

Still acting innocent, Mineah met his deep gaze and asked, "Why? Don’t you want to just cuddle tonight? What do you want to do, Lai?"

At her question, his expression became serious, and Mineah held her breath the moment she felt Nikolai’s hand slide inside the hem of her nightdress.

"I saw it in your memories. You said we must focus on making babies now so that the court officials will no longer bug us about it and use it against our rule," he stated. "I may not still remember you, but I saw enough through your memories. I... even... my body seems to have a mind of its own, and right now, I just want to do one thing..."

"What is it?" Mineah asked yet again, still continuing to play innocent despite already knowing what her dear husband was talking about. She was just curious how he would handle this kind of situation while not having memories of her.
