The Crown's Seduction-Chapter 351: Drink
Chapter 351: Drink
Mineah stirred and slowly opened her sleepy eyes only to be shocked by what she saw. "Lai?"
"You’re finally awake!" she exclaimed and pounced on him to hug him without wasting a second.
"Oh, thank you, dear Almighty!" she whispered silent prayers under her breath as she started crying uncontrollably. Those were tears of overflowing joy. Seeing him finally awake was so shocking that she pinched her skin to make sure that she wasn’t just dreaming or hallucinating. She couldn’t have been more grateful that he was finally awake and talking!
Nikolai gently pulled back from the hug and stared blankly at her face as he said, "I’m sorry, but I don’t remember you. Who are you?"
Mineah felt a sharp pain inside her heart. She had already mentally prepared herself for the possibility of Nikolai maybe not remembering her. But still...It didn’t make it any easier. She bit her inner cheek and quickly composed herself.
She gave him a reassuring smile and calmly asked, "That’s okay. How are you feeling?"
"I’m better. You didn’t answer my question. Who are you and why are you inside my bedchamber?" he asked.
"I am Mineah Ichor, Queen of Valcrez and more importantly your wife. Right now you are suffering from a temporary loss which is where you lose parts of your current and previous memories. I guess I am part of the memory you lost but don’t worry, you’ll eventually regain them back. It’s an after-effect of Vulcan taking over your body when you and my brother penetrated Castle Helion."
Nikolai just stared at her like a confused child, which Mineah could understand very well. She was about to take his hand but he quickly disappeared before she could do it.
She frowned and tried to connect to him through their bond, [Lai, please come back here. Why are you running away from me?] She found it funny and cute that he disappeared and was trying hard not to laugh. He was still somewhere in the bedchamber as she could still feel his energy. It was just that he was in his mist form.
[Shift back to your human form and talk to me, will you? I’m simply a harmless human so there’s nothing for you to worry about me. I am your wife...] she reiterated through their bond.
Nikolai quickly appeared but this time he sat on the vacant chair of their bedchamber. She smirked knowing he was trying to keep his distance from her. But that wouldn’t last long because she would stick close to him no matter what.
"See, we have a connection through our Coupling Bond. You marked me here so we can talk through the bond," Mineah pointed out on his bite on her skin.
"Are you the eldest Princess of Ebodia?" Nikolai suddenly asked.
So he still has memories of that time. "Does that mean you remember your arranged marriage to my sister Xenia?"
"Yes, there were talks about it but nothing was set in stone until the marriage actually happened. I was supposed to travel to Ebodia for the wedding ceremony in fifteen days. You said, sister... So you’re the youngest Princess. Are you saying that it’s you whom I married instead of your older sister?" Nikolai asked with a frown.
Mineah’s lips curved up, forming a sweet smile as she humorously said, "Yes, I am the youngest Princess of Ebodia, infamously known as the Cursed Princess. And also yes, I’m the one you ended up marrying. Why? Are you scared?"
"Milady, it’s very inappropriate of you to talk to me informally," he said with a blank face. Mineah pouted and said, "What are you saying? We’re husband and wife. I am your Queen. In fact, we even have nicknames for each other. You call me Mine when my name is Mineah... You gave me that nickname which is proof of how possessive you are of me... And I call you Lai, short for Nikolai."
Nikolai’s face reddened and he looked away not saying a word. She took that opportunity to continue, "The Cordon King, Darius took my sister as his wife because she was his mate. He used the Beholden Law against you so you took me as your wife instead."
There was a terse silence for a moment where they held each other’s gaze. Neither of them backed down, she wondered what was going on inside her husband’s mind right now. His face suddenly darkened and before she could ask him the reason Marloly appeared before them, seemingly out of thin air.
"I called for Taro, not you. Why is he in Cordon?" Nikolai coldly asked Marlo. The poor Shadow Knight looked at him, conflicted. Mineah simply sighed and said, "Go, leave us, alone, Marlo. I will explain everything to him."
Marlo bowed to her and Nikolai before he quickly disappeared. Nikolai was still frowning so she said, "Stop talking to your Scions through the bond, Lai. I will explain everything to you."
’So her dear husband was contacting his Scions through their bond while he was staring at her?’ Her mouth twitched as she narrowed her eyes at her husband.
"You assigned Taro to guard Mage Jayra at Cordon because of my bloodthread which was inside her and connected our lives. If she dies, I will also die, so you tasked Taro with protecting her and making sure that she’s safe and unharmed," Mineah started before narrating what happened in detail. There were just too many things to explain all at once so she paused to take a deep breath and suggested a faster method which was for Nikolai to see some of the fragments of the memories he lost.
"If you’re ever confused and want to know anything, I’ll be your walking memory, Lai. Right now, you must not let anyone know that you lost your memory because the opposition will take that opportunity to plan against you. I’m not sure if this will work but don’t you have the ability to see someone’s memory once you drink their blood? We can try that and see if it will help. Drink my blood and walk through our memories together for as long as you can," Mineah suggested.
To be honest, they could also ask for Tarah’s help as she could show someone their past. But till now, there was no news about Tarah and her whereabouts. It was like she had just been vanished into thin air. But strangely enough, Mineah strongly believed that Tarah survived and escaped.
She made sure to continuously monitor that situation. She even checked on her brother Ezekiel from time to time as she had an unsettling feeling that he would return to Devon to make sure the Demon King died in his hands this time. There was a very dangerous aura that surrounded Ezekiel whenever Devon’s name came up, one filled with murderous intent.
"I don’t drink human blood," Nikolai firmly spoke.
"You crave for it every full moon. Though the last full moon was the first time you drank from me, and always do it whenever you crave it from then on," Mineah informed with a wink.
"Rosela... She’s the one I drink from," Nikolai pointed out, making Mineah’s face sour.
"Lai, Rosela is already dead. She’s responsible for her twin’s death and she’s done very evil things," she answered with a frown before releasing a mouthful of air and then mumbled, "Ah, this won’t do..."
She stood up from the bed, walked towards him and sat on his lap. She didn’t know whether to laugh or cry when she felt his entire body tense and stiffen up. She removed the strap of her nightgown so he would have better access to her neck and leaned closer until her neck was near his mouth.
She could feel him underneath her, he was so hard. He was actually hard when she had only just sat on his lap. Mineah quickly cleared her naughty thoughts and stopped the urge to tease her husband. She must focus on the more important things first, which was to get Nikolai to see their memories through her.
"Just do it, Lai. Spare us the time that would be wasted with me narrating everything. Just drink my blood and go through my memories so you can have an idea of what happened," Mineah coaxed. She would love to narrate everything but knew that him learning everything this was would be so much better. That way he would not have any doubts about her words.
He might not remember her even after that, but at least getting a view of their memories together would confirm her relationship with him.
When he didn’t move, Mineah backed a little to look straight into his eyes, "What’s wrong? Trust me... You like my blood and it’s the one you only crave now."
Seeing the hesitation in his eyes, Mineah released a sigh and said, "Okay... How about asking one of your Scion to drink from me? That way, you’ll still be able to see my memories without you doing anything. That’s the only other option we have if you don’t want to do it."
Nikolai’s face darkened as he growled, "No!"
