The Crown's Seduction-Chapter 354: Just by Looking at Them
Chapter 354: Just by Looking at Them
Krisha let out an impatient sigh as she watched the hours tick by. After all, it was supposed to be the day that Taro returned to her, and yet he was still nowhere in sight despite the fact that the sun was about to set.
"Where are you, Taro..." she sighed as she looked at the setting sun beyond the horizon. "You told me you were going to return today, and yet it’s already night out..."
She let out another sigh before eventually returning to her duties. Sure, she could always just contact him through their Bond, but she wasn’t that desperate to know why he was running late. Well, she was, but she had principles in that she wouldn’t want to disturb him and make him come even later than they expected. All she could assume was that something was holding him up, but it wasn’t too bad that he needed to tell her that he was going to take longer than expected.
Which meant that he would probably still arrive later that night.
At that realization, Krisha couldn’t help but smile as she went about her usual routine. Her husband was a man of a few words, after all. He would give her updates when needed, and he wasn’t the type to needlessly worry her about something like being held up by some random task that needed to be done before he could finally return to her.
"I hope you’re doing well out there, Taro," she chuckled to the wind. "I’ll be waiting for you until midnight..."
In the meantime, she should finish up on her tasks so that she could spend more time preparing for Taro’s arrival. She wanted to be at her best once he was back, especially since she just knew that their night would be filled with more than just tearful reunions and passionate kisses.
...
...
She blushed at her own thoughts. Truly, she missed him more than she would’ve liked.

"What’s taking you so long..."
More hours passed by, and Krisha frowned as she sat on her bed waiting for her husband to come to her. He was honestly getting worried that Taro was actually going to make her wait till midnight, and while she did say to herself that she’d wait till about that hour, she didn’t expect to actually wait all the way till that time.
"I even prepared for you too..." she grumbled, her arms crossed over her chest as she set her gaze on her reflection in the mirror.
Indeed, she was wearing her best dress, and she even made sure to look fresh and ready despite having gone through a full day’s worth of work. In all honesty, she was dead tired, but she wanted to still be there once Taro arrived. Only, he hadn’t arrived yet, and she was getting sleepier by the minute.
"Ugh... Taro..."
Letting her exhaustion take over, Krisha let out a sigh as she eventually laid her head on the nearest pillow to her. Still in her dress, she couldn’t help but yawn as she felt her eyelids start to droop with her lack of sleep.
"Taro..."
With her frown still on her face, Krisha let a tear run down her cheek as she finally let sleep take her. It was just about to hit midnight, and she could only assume that her husband was going to be running later than she expected.

’Dammit... I’m running late...’
Taro cursed himself as he arrived at Krisha’s room by way of the open window on her balcony. It was just past midnight, and he had promised his wife that he’d be home at least before that time. He really thought he didn’t need to contact her that something held him up, thinking that it wouldn’t take too much of his time only for it to take hours upon hours of what he had hoped to be time spent with Krisha.
Truly, fate had its ways of being annoying at times.

Landing by the side of her bed, Taro felt his frown deepen as he saw a lone tear on Krisha’s sleeping face. Judging by how beautiful she looked in her sleep, she had prepared for his arrival. She even had a dress on as she slept, a far cry from her usual night dress that she would wear for sleep.
"I’m sorry, Krisha..."
Kneeling next to her, Taro caressed her sleeping face, regret filling his heart as he shamed himself for not giving his wife an update that he might be late. He really underestimated that sudden task, eventually leading to him upsetting his wife to the point that she had shed a tear for him.
Letting out an apologetic sigh, Taro quietly moved to lay next to his wife, making sure to keep quiet to let Krisha sleep the disappointment away. He had a lot of catching up to do to her, but now wasn’t the time to do so.
No matter how much he wanted to wake her right then and there, he knew that she was probably tired. It would be best to let her sleep and surprise her in the morning.

Krisha stirred in her sleep, still completely unaware of her surroundings as the morning rays of the sun hit her face. Blinking, she tried to sit up, only to be held back by what felt like a strong pair of arms keeping her in place.
"W-wha..."
Confused, she tried once again to move, only to be held back by a familiar grip that her body responded all too eagerly to. Her mind was starting to catch up on what happened last night, at least, which meant that the moment she turned her gaze to see Taro holding onto her, her morning got a thousand times brighter.
"Taro?" she cautiously asked. "Is that you?"
"Krisha..." he whispered back, his gaze apologetic. "Sorry for being so late. I arrived at around midnight, but you were already asleep, and I didn’t want to wake you up."
Somehow, she couldn’t help but chuckle at what she just heard, her disappointment in him vanishing just as quickly as her love for him returned in full force.
"Of course, you’d consider midnight to still be a part of yesterday," she giggled. "I guess you’re not too late then."
"But I am," he frowned. "I made you upset..."
Shaking her head, Krisha chuckled before moving in to give Taro a loving kiss on his lips. Her husband didn’t react at first, but he quickly regained his bearings as he kissed her back just as lovingly. For almost a full minute, they relished each other’s love and taste, their lips passionately colliding before they eventually had to break away for air.
"Well, I’m not anymore," she pointed out with a quirky smile. "You’re here, Taro. That’s all that matters."
"I still have to make it up to you somehow," he replied back, his frown lessening with her reassurances. "I made you shed a tear. That shouldn’t have happened in the first place."
"Well, I know a method you can use to cheer me up."
With a seductive smirk, Krisha leaned in to give him one more loving kiss. Already, she was feeling the heat within her grow as she relished her husband’s presence. Still, that wasn’t the only thing growing within her, and she did her best to stop herself from feeling too sick as she enjoyed Taro’s kiss.
"I’ll make sure to make you feel good, Krisha," Taro promised to her, but his loving voice quickly turned to worry when he noticed something. "Hey, are you alright?"
"I-I’ll be fine," she insisted. "It’s probably just something I ate last night..."
Once more, she tried to lean in for another kiss, but the churning in her stomach would no longer be denied.
"Krisha?"
Thinking quickly, she got off Taro before bolting to the balcony near their bed. She then groaned as she threw up what little she had in her stomach, confusion and weakness coloring her expression as she felt Taro’s comforting hand on her back.
"You should see a healer," Taro suggested. "Our... It can wait."
"I know," she scoffed. "I won’t ignore this."
As one, they immediately went to see Zaila, her worries and hopes only building as she placed a hand on her stomach. It was far too random. She didn’t feel sick beyond being more tired than usual for the past few days, and she was sure that she was healthy.
"Oh, Krisha," Zaila scoffed the moment she saw them enter. "Took you long enough."
"Huh?" Krisha frowned. "What do you mean by that?"
"Experiencing morning sickness finally?" Zaila teased. "Maybe some nausea or tiredness?"
"What are you saying?" Taro spoke up, his worry compounding with hers. "Do you know what’s wrong with Krisha?"
"Oh, nothing’s wrong with her," Zaila grinned. "She’s just pregnant."
A long beat passed as Zaila’s words echoed across the room. To her credit, Krisha took it in stride, having already guessed what was wrong on the way to see her friend. Taro, meanwhile, had a wide smile on his face even as he remained silent. Hell, she was ecstatic that she was pregnant. Still, how did Zaila know without even checking on her?
"Wait, how did you know?" Krisha asked. "You didn’t look at me in secret, right?"
"Oh, you just glowed far more than usual," her friend chuckled. "That and instinct. Sometimes, you can tell if someone’s pregnant just by looking at them, you know."
