The Crown's Seduction-Chapter 356: Without Any Hesitation

"I’m glad things are working out well for our Queen," Dani hummed as she shared a bit of teatime with Zaila.

"You know how our Queen’s mind works sometimes," Zaila seconded. "I hadn’t even come up with that possibility, and yet she did."

Dani nodded. She had been worried about their King’s loss of memories, but somehow, their Queen managed to make it all work out. It was good that their King was powerful enough to see the past through someone’s memories by drinking their blood. Their Queen used that to their benefit so that he could use her memories instead.

"Right... By the way, do you want me to check on you right now?" Zaila teased with a wide grin. "You got married right after Krisha, so who knows? You could be pregnant right now like her!"

Still smiling, Zaila moved to grab Dani’s wrist, but the latter quickly avoided her and said, "I am not!"

Zaila raised a brow at her and questioned, "Why not?"

’Because we’re still not doing it!’ Dani inwardly retorted. ’We haven’t consummated our marriage yet!’

It was just the truth of the matter. How could she be pregnant like Krisha if things haven’t happened between them yet? Still, it was becoming harder for her to resist Abel with each passing day. His constant seduction and teasing were getting the better of her, and sooner or later, she knew she would give in to his advances.

’Damn that bastard! Why is it so hard for him to say the words I want to hear?’ she thought to herself with a frown. ’All I want is for him to say that he loves me so that we can finally do it!’

It was then that she remembered that she wasn’t alone. That Zaila was still staring intently at her, seriously reading her current expressions.

"Oh! You... That look... Is the Chancellor not good in bed?!" Zaila boldly questioned, her brows snapped as she fished for an answer. "Are you two not doing it often enough?!"

Dani felt her cheeks burn as she stared at her friend. She wanted badly to dig a hole right in front of her and just hide herself there to avoid this conversation. However, knowing Zaila, she knew she had no way to escape even if she walked away from her right now. This friend of hers simply wouldn’t stop bugging her until she got the answers she wanted.

Resigned, Dani quickly looked around, making sure that no one was around before she said, "Lower your voice, will you?"

"Goodness... Krisha is a woman of a few words, but I admire how fast she is whenever it comes to things. She even got pregnant before our Queen," Zaila excitedly giggled with excitement. "Maybe we can ask her what she’s doing? Oh, right. I forgot I don’t have a man yet. Well, let’s both ask her next time for future reference." She then leaned in and repeated, "Now, tell me what’s wrong with you and Chancellor Abel."

Dani shrugged at the question. She wasn’t the type of person to talk about private affairs, but somehow, she was getting more frustrated and anxious lately. She felt like she needed someone else’s opinion to know if she was still doing things correctly.

Taking a deep breath, she let it all out before opening up her dilemma to her friend Zaila. Out of all of them, she was the most knowledgeable with relationship matters despite still being single.

As such, despite her awkwardness, Dani managed to tell Zaila everything there was to know about her situation.

"Are you out of your mind?!" Zaila burst out, making Dani frown.

"Lower your voice," Dani reminded her as she looked around. "What if someone hears you?"

"No one walks around here at this hour, Dani. Everyone in the palace is busy with their own chores at the moment," Zaila pointed out. "We’re just lucky to have more free time than most since our Queen is the independent sort."

She then shook her head before continuing, "Anyway, like I was saying. You’re out of your mind giving that condition to the Chancellor. Don’t you know that more often than not, being intimate is a man’s common weakness? Love will eventually follow. What’s important is that the Chancellor is seriously committed to work on your relationship together as a couple."

Dani was speechless at what Zaila just said. Meanwhile, the latter simply shook her head and even clicked her tongue at her while looking disappointed.

"Ah Dani... I can’t believe you can be this heartless to your dear husband. You should be making all the effort to please him in every way right now if you want to get his full attention and capture his heart," Zaila sagely added.

"Of course, that also means making sure that he’s well pleased in bed. You like him, and I can even tell that you love him already, but you shouldn’t do things with the condition that they love you, Dani. You should give them your all without asking him anything in return. That’s how love works."

Dani felt like a child being scolded by her mother at the moment. Still, she understood Zaila’s point well enough. It looked like she was wrong with how she was managing things between her and Abel, which meant that she had to change things.

"But I thought it’s good to put the man to the test like letting him drool over you or something," Dani reasoned. "I clearly remember that in one of the romance books we read. That way, the man wants the woman more... the more he can’t get her and all that."

That love story ended well too, so it gave her a good enough impression to apply the same thing to Abel.

"Well, there are some instances that it would work, but the couple in that story knew each other well already, Dani. It’s like a story about second chances in love," Zaila pointed out with a frown. For goodness sake, you and the chancellor don’t even have the same scenario with the couple in that book, not to mention that he even has a history with that snake, Rosela. I can’t imagine how that woman managed to get him under her hands."

Hearing Rosela’s name made Dani’s face sour. Still, Zaila kept on going.
