The Crown's Seduction-Chapter 359: Giving In
Chapter 359: Giving In
Nikolai couldn’t find it in himself to focus as Mineah’s image kept invading his thoughts. It still fascinated him how much he was naturally comfortable and shameless around her. It was probably all instinct though, and he couldn’t help but flash a mischievous smile as he recalled how boldly she called on him to make babies.
’I wonder if she noticed I told her that I love her like I’ve always said those words to her,’ he inwardly mused.
He had told her that he loved her when they made love that noon. The last he recalled doing that, she had told him that he wasn’t obliged to tell her that whenever they made love, and yet the words naturally came out of his lips. He was glad she didn’t scold him this time, however. After all, he meant those words. He couldn’t explain it himself, but his heart truly felt for those words to come out simply.
"Look at you grinning all alone," Abel snorted at him. "You do know that you’ve been doing that often in meetings with others, right? If this continues, you’ll start looking like you’re going crazy in your head."
Fritz then chuckled as he fanned himself. "Let our King be, Abel. He lost a part of his memories, so he’s probably recalling some good stuff," he stated. "That’s most likely why he’s acting funny lately."
"Perhaps," Nikolai vaguely stated before he quickly became serious. "Anyway, I want to make sure that Raul won’t be compromised, Abel."
Abel had briefed him regarding the pending confidential operations that were still in progress. However, his priority was still the welfare of his brother Raul.
"Don’t worry. Everything is going according to plan so far," Fritz reassured him. "Raul will be safe and sound once things conclude."
"I’m curious though, until what part did you see from Queen Mineah’s memories?" Abel suddenly questioned.
"I saw all the way to the part where I witnessed your Coupling Rites," Nikolai answered with a faint sigh. "From there, I had to stop drinking Mine’s blood."
"Well, speaking of drinking blood... It’s been a while now, and Zoran’s already getting impatient," Fritz informed him. "You should see to him. He’s been bugging me to ask you to see him and continue your sessions for a while now."
Shaking his head, Nikolai frowned as he said, "He’s one of my Scions now. Why’s he not reaching out to me directly through our bond?"
"He’s aware that you lost your latest memories," Fritz provided with a scoff. "That’s probably why he’s not reaching out to you first."
"I guess I’ll go see him then," Nikolai shrugged. "You can go and fetch Dahlia and meet us meet Zoran’s chamber."
Giving out his instructions to Fritz, he gave the others a passing wave before moving to his next destination. It didn’t take long for Nikolai to meet Zoran as he arrived at the latter’s room, and this would be the first time he would’ve met the man ever since he lost some parts of his memories.
"Your Majesty," Zoran respectfully greeted him with a bow.
"It’s been a while, Zoran," Nikolai greeted back. "I saw through my wife’s memories how greatly you helped us in our confidential mission in Helion. You’ll be handsomely rewarded for it."
Zoran quickly shrugged as he shook his head. "While I’m grateful for your benevolence, Your Majesty, I think you can better reward me through other means," he pointed out with a faint smile. "Instead of rewarding me with riches, can you simply reward me with more of your time?"
Nikolai gave Zoran a curious look, signaling the man to continue.
"You see, it’s been a struggle for a while now," Zoran timidly admitted. "I want to be with my wife soon, but we’re currently lacking time for the sessions. I need your presence to hold me down and not hurt her."
Nikolai simply nodded. He understood Zoran’s situation, but how could he give him more of his time right now when his wife was being extra demanding of him as well?
"Hmm... I’ll try my very best, Zoran," Nikolai simply answered.
Maybe he could give his friend more of his time once it was no longer Mineah’s fertile days. Still, he had a feeling that he would rather spend his spare time with his wife whether or not she was fertile.
A brief time passed, and Dahlia soon entered the chamber with Fritz, both of them greeting him with a curt bow. From there, it became a time-consuming session where he had to listen to Dahlia narrate about her time with Zoran during the five years they spent together. She left no detail unsaid as she practically fed him all the details about their time together, including some of their smaller moments together.
By the sidelines, Nikolai could simply watch as the couple talked. He couldn’t help but think of how mysteriously fate worked. Dahlia was alive, and the two were together. He had grieved hard for Dahlia back then, and he never really thought he would be able to look to any other woman after what happened. Still, time happened, and he smiled content with how everything turned out.
"I believe Zoran had improved greatly. How about we do something like this..." Nikolai interrupted as he looked at Fritz. "Keep monitoring the situation and hold Zoran down if he loses control."
"But I’m not enough to hold him down, Your Majesty," Fritz complained. "He’s also a powerful sorcerer."
Nikolai smirked. "Haven’t you noticed the great change in him? He’ll hold himself back as much as he could not to harm Dahlia, so you definitely won’t exert too much energy holding him back," he pointed out. "I honestly believe that my presence wouldn’t be needed here anymore. Instead, I’ll have one of my Scions stay here to call my attention if there’s a need for me to come."
Without waiting for Fritz to complain, Nikolai quickly shifted to his mist form and hastily made his way to where his wife currently was.
Meanwhile, Mineah was currently busy studying some of the books available to her in their national library regarding some kingdoms. She was bothered by the mystery regarding Seer Tarah’s identity. They knew nothing much about her, and it got to the point that her mother requested her help to look into things, especially with how greatly her brother had been affected by the Seer’s disappearance.
In addition, according to her brother’s spy in Helion, the demon king was still alive. Like Ezekiel, Devon was also earnestly looking for Tarah. There was also no news about the boy Tarah was carrying. Ebodia’s spies weren’t even aware of the boy’s existence in Helion prior to the seer taking him with her.
[Master, do you think His Highness remembers me?] Nik suddenly asked her through their bond.
Mineah blinked at the sudden question. She had almost forgotten about her pet’s request. Nik found a partner, and he wanted to ask Nikolai to make her a royal pet like him so that they could both stay within the palace walls.
[Oh, right. Don’t worry, Nik. I’ll mention this to Lai today,] Mineah answered. [I’m sure he’ll allow it. I will make sure of it...]
[Thank you so much, Your Majesty...] Nik sincerely replied.
[For now, enjoy your stay outside with your newfound partner, Nik,] Mineah smiled, all while wondering what name she would give to her raven’s partner.
But before she could do so, she suddenly felt her husband’s strong presence enter the library, making her frown.
"Lai," she murmured.
Mineah felt him standing behind her, and a wide smile tugged itself onto her lips as he leaned his chin on her shoulder with his cheek brushing against hers.
"What are you doing?" he asked.
"I’m looking for something," she vaguely replied, still curious as to why he didn’t contact her through their bond. "Why are you here? How did you find out I’m here?"
"I have eyes everywhere, Mine," he whispered against her neck.
She hummed in approval. She liked how he was already comfortable around her despite his lost memories.
Slowly turning her head to face him, she asked with a raised brow, "And why are you here?"
Immediately, she saw an unyielding desire in her husband’s eyes. She smiled at what she saw. She could already tell why he was there. It was almost like he never lost some of his memories with how shameless he was being around her. Still, she was grateful that Nikolai was being vocal and confident with his instinct.
"I thought we have a main goal of making a baby?" he straightforwardly stated, not breaking eye contact with her.
Mineah intentionally pouted, "But I still have things to do."
Instead of replying to her, he just leaned into her pouted lips and hungrily kissed her. Humming, Mineah’s heart was filled with love at his gestures. Who was she to deny her husband? She was supposed to tease him, but in the end, she ended up giving in to him, just like she always would.
