The Dark Rebirth of Pandora: Revenge of the Abyss-Chapter 306: Without Toys
Chapter 306: Without Toys
"Hahahahaha" I hear a soft, high-pitched laughter echoing through the castle as I’m looking out the window, thinking about what the hell I’m doing with my life. frёewebηovel.cѳm
"Grimm, are you okay?" My clone asks, as it’s unusual for me to be so quiet or staring out the window.
"Dirty blood-stained walls, destroyed paintings, overturned and broken tables and chairs, scattered jewelry, ripped and blood-stained sheets from most of the beds," I begin to speak.
"Blood everywhere covering at least 70% of the castle, and several other destroyed locations." My beautiful castle is in ruins.
"..." My clone remains silent, the castle looks like a battleground, everything broken, windows and walls shattered with little handprints in blood.
But the reason for all this mess wasn’t a fight, it was Azazel, my ’beloved’ daughter, who decided to test my patience. As soon as I went to sleep, she woke up and decided it would be fun to break everything.
When I woke up, my castle was in ruins while I saw Azazel chasing a maid with a knife, laughing, and the maid just running desperately.
And now all that remains are ruins, and it’s in moments like these that the desire to kill her arises. She screwed up my castle, the castle I customized over a long time.
The things here are no longer manufactured because the people who made them are already dead, so the damage is irreparable.
"Hahahaha" I hear her laughter, she continues to chase maids with a knife while gleefully laughing.
Of course, I know the reason she’s being so rebellious. It happened for a very simple reason.
Pandora "disappeared" and Azazel noticed, or rather, Pandora when she entered another dimension lost her presence in this world, something I’d say at most 7 to 12 beings noticed.
For most beings, the Demon King disappearing from the planet for a few hours or days won’t make a difference, but Azazel somehow noticed that Pandora was not here.
And with that, she started crying for almost 3 hours, saying "Mama Pandoru" and some other incomprehensible and mispronounced words.
But obviously, after a while, she’d get tired, and when she did, she went to sleep, and I took the opportunity to also go to sleep a little to forget the problems she causes me.
Only Pandora returned, which Azazel immediately noticed, and this made Azazel so happy that she decided to use her energy to pull this clown show of destroying my castle and killing maids with knives or any other sharp object.
It seems Azazel realized that the maids can’t hurt her, and like a good predator, she stopped pretending to cry and started brazenly hunting the maids with any sharp thing she found in her path.
And now I’m in this shitty situation because of Pandora’s fault. She disappeared and came back, and because of that, Azazel had this outburst of rebellion, wanting to kill and break things to celebrate that her mother returned.
And thanks to Azazel’s heightened perception, it’s obvious to me that Azazel knows exactly where Pandora is, regardless of the distance. If Azazel were to escape, she could easily go to Pandora’s approximate location.
I deduce that Azazel can sense Pandora’s location because Azazel is half-monster, and monsters have increased power thanks to Pandora’s presence, just as Pandora’s presence has effects on the monsters.
"Grimm, just staring at a broken window doesn’t help. Can’t you stop your daughter? She’s already killed half the castle’s maids," my clone says as I just sigh.
’I’m so tired...’ My stress in the past few days has been unbearable. Azazel is a little devil who likes to destroy and kill things without stopping. She learns absurdly fast.
And upon noticing that the entire castle area has no threats, she brazenly started exploring the places and killing the others.
I’ve even found her torturing a maid, she dismembered a maid with a knife, then opened the maid’s belly and started eating her organs while the maid was still alive and crying.
All out of pure sadism, showing that she perfectly inherited Pandora’s sadistic genes, who love to cause suffering to their prey, since the prey never attack Azazel, she decided she could eat her prey more slowly.
Of course, she’s still cautious. She analyzes and prepares, showing preparation when hunting her prey, which shows that she doesn’t underestimate a sudden attack.
"Haaa... I guess it’s time to stop her," I start walking until I hear her little giggles along with the desperate screams of a maid.
’Foolish maid’ Azazel likes it when they scream. The more desperate, the more Azazel enjoys it. If the maid stayed quiet, Azazel would get bored and not be so sadistic with her.
I turn the corner, seeing Azazel near the maid with the knife, but before Azazel can attack, I grab her by the collar of her dress, lifting her up.
"!!!" She becomes completely alert and looks at me, dropping the knife on the floor. She immediately realizes she’s in trouble.
"I hope you know this won’t go unpunished," I say, taking her with me. She shivers, but stays still, almost frozen, knowing I’m irritated.
"M-Mama Pandoru came back," she says, as if that’s an excuse for the damage she caused.
"..." She notices how angry I am and remains silent as tears begin to fall.
"S-Sorry," she says, crying, but I ignore it. I know it’s a lie. They are false tears. She’s good at faking and manipulating. There’s a difference between fake crying and real crying.
Her fake crying is very well done, but it lacks the realistic touch of when she really cries from sadness or fear, like when I got angry with her when she broke my artifact and she got scared and cried.
Or like when she felt that Pandora had disappeared, and she started crying. Her real crying has more feelings than her standard fake tears and false sadness.
"You need to learn not to break my things. Being a princess doesn’t give you permission to destroy what I’ve made," I say, taking her to my room and throwing her on the bed.
"Why do you think Pandora is a trigger for you to celebrate by breaking my castle? Do you think Pandora can protect you? She doesn’t even know you exist. You’re living and surviving off everything that’s mine," I say, irritated.
These are things that are impossible to recover now. Repairing everything will take time, and it won’t be the way I like it. It will take hundreds of millennia to maybe be able to rebuild a perfect castle with the arts and objects I like.
"M-Mama, sorry," she says, but without crying. She seems a little more remorseful now that she sees how serious I am.
"I’m going to take away your toys," When I say this, her eyes widen, her body stiffens, and her mouth opens in shock.
"And if you cry, I’ll break them all, just like you broke my things," I say, without patience for these shenanigans. She just lowers her head, looking sad.
"Rethink your mistakes," I say, turning to leave, but she comes up to me, hugging my leg.
"N-No, n-no toys," she says, moving her little hands, agitating my leg as she speaks with real sadness this time.
"I won’t fall for that. Naughty children need to be punished. If you want your toys back, behave. You could start by trying to repair the damage you’ve done," She seems to think about it when I say that.
"I-I can fix it! Mama, I can fix it!" She says, even though she knows she can’t. At most, she can clean the blood she spread on the walls, but repairing broken things is impossible.
"Hmm, you’re a princess, you should act like one. Look how dirty you are with blood and dust. You still lack a lot, daughter. If you want to get your toys back, you need to be more responsible," When I say this, she gets angry.
She pouts and puffs out her cheeks, annoyed. She knows she can’t change, and I know she won’t change so quickly.
"Mama Pandoru is better!" I freeze when she says this.
"What did you say?" I look at this wretched brat in disbelief. I do everything for her, and she still has the audacity!
"Mama Pandoru is better! She’s nice! You’re mean! Mama Grimm is evil!" She says, without even knowing Pandora.
"And how is Pandora better than me?" I speak, but against all odds, she answers.
"Mama Pandora would take me hunting! Mama Pandoru would teach me magic!" She speaks with impressive intelligence.
’How the hell does she know these things? She’s never seen Pandora, how can she assert this with such certainty?’ The worst part is that she’s right. Given Pandora’s personality, she would undoubtedly teach Azazel to kill and use magic.
What impresses me is the fact that she knows this. How does she know that Pandora would teach her magic and hunting?
’...Children are creepy’ This is bizarre even for me.
"Then I’ll teach you to hunt and use magic," When I say this, her little eyes light up, and she seems completely surprised, as if she had never expected me to fulfill this role.
"Mama will teach me?"
"Yes, if you clean up the mess you made, I’ll teach you."
"..." She seems to weigh the choices between doing nothing or doing what I asked in exchange for me teaching her.
"Okay..." She agrees after a brief hesitation.
"Great, then you can start," She got a lot smarter quickly and can speak a lot more words now, so she understands what she needs to do.
"But I still won’t give you your toys back. You did something wrong and need to learn from this," I tell her.
"...Okay Mama..." She speaks, not as excited, but accepting it better now.
