The Devil Doctor's Spicy Love-Chapter 433: Breaking trust (1)
"Where the hell will you take me huh!"
The first to get the most violent was Hou Jielun.
"I’m Hou Jielun. You just cannot drag me like that!"
Hou Huan stepped forward threateningly. "We are from the Politburo family, don’t forget. Zhong Kai! How dare these lowly police officers lay their hands on us!"
Zhong Kai was himself in no better position.
"Because that’s how the law is supposed to work, Madam," Jia and Huojin’s superior, Tang Haitao, came in.
"I knew there would be resistance."
Zhong Kai said, "What the hell is going on here? Your officers have breached a hell lot of protocols here! They humiliated two important political families and even accused me!" His face reddened with fury.
"We don’t humiliate people, Commissioner Zhong. We find culprits and nail them. I suppose it’s not a pleasant experience for the ones caught, but it is what it is," he stepped forward, meeting eye-to-eye, "including you. As much as they have done horrible crimes, yours are much worse. You are talking about humiliation? Do you imagine the humiliation the Beijing Public Security Bureau will have to face because of you?"
"These are all false-"
"You cannot hide anymore and you have enjoyed enough of that fake position that should have belonged to somebody else."
Shilin watched the drama unfold, expressionless.
"We have also tracked your secret accounts stashed with dirty money. The money you got to bury Miss. Nuwa’s case and then destroy your fellow officer’s career for good. It’s time for Mr. Lingyun to be out and you to be in."
His expression hardened. "This isn’t gonna end well for you. I am the damn Commissioner."
"So imagine the public’s outrage that a damn Commissioner was in cahoots with a big political family over years and buried what not against them. It wasn’t just Miss. Nuwa’s case you interfered with. Over the years, you have done many ’favors’ for them in exchange for some fat cash. They got away with many things precisely because the Commissioner let them go scot free every single time. But it’s over now. For you and for everyone involved with crimes."
Zhuo Meihui sneered. "We are too influential, Officer. You think the cops can touch us?"
Mingshen yawned. "Are you conveniently forgetting the underworld here? Let’s not get into a competition for influence here because that’s a lost battle for you."
Jia stared. "We can and we will touch you, Mrs. Zhuo. You have been exploiting the system for your use for a long time now. It’s time for you to see how the law actually works for a change, whether it’s for a political family or..." she eyed Mulan, "a CEO."
The air shifted when Hou Huan became a target. Out of nowhere. One moment she was lashing out at Tang Haitao and the other moment she was trapped in Shi Ningkai’s arms, a knife pointed at her neck.
"A very important artery passes through here. Do you know what it is, Dr. Yang Cheng? Oh sorry, the real Xie Zi Han."
Yang Cheng’s expression didn’t even have a minute change in it.
"What the hell is happening! Shi Ningkai, have you lost it!?" She screamed and scrambled to escape, but he wasn’t to be underestimated. His tight grip over neck and chest had left her breathless.
Hou Tengqi’s gaze darkened. "Let her go or-"
"Or what?" He sneered.
Jia held her breath. It was an impasse. Jia and Mingshen were farther from him to take him by surprise and Huojin was by Li Beiye’s side at his left. An attack from any position would leave Hou Huan vulnerable.
"So the real Xie Zi Han. Answer my question."
Mingshen answered instead. "The carotid artery."
"Good," he smiled. "It supplies blood and oxygen to the brain, so imagine what would happen if I cut it?"
Hou Huan’s face paled.
"Blood will spray everywhere. Blood loss is the most severe if the carotid artery is cut. Death will be merely in minutes."
Hou Huan trembled harder as Shi Ningkai pressed the sharp edge of the dagger a fraction deeper against her skin, drawing a thin line of red. Her breath hitched. Her family shrieked, backing away in panic.
"Mom!" Hou Tengqi screamed.
Shi Ningkai smirked. "Don’t twitch too much, Mrs. Hou. Your life is hanging quite literally by a-"
He didn’t get to finish his sentence. Because Yang Bingqing moved. Not rushed. Not lunged. She glided with a soft sway of her hips, her feet deliberate, light and subtle.
It was just enough to pull every pair of eyes toward her for a split second where in that same split second, her wrist flicked and a fork from the dessert table beside her shot forward with a precision so unnatural that even Mingshen blinked.
Shi Ningkai’s eyes widened as the fork’s prongs dug cleanly into the nerves of his wrist. His grip faltered and he backed away while Hou Huan stumbled forward at the same time, straight into Yang Bingqing’s arms.
She didn’t let the woman linger in her arms any longer than necessary and pushed her aside. With Hou Huan out of the way, she bent her knee, dropped her weight and swept her foot along the floor in one smooth arc. Her heel struck precisely at Shi Ningkai’s ankle, the same one which had been a target of Mingshen’s attack during their fight at the charity night.
Shi Ningkai was in pain. Both from the fork stabbed in his wrist and the vicious jab at his ankle. He toppled forward straight into her trap. Her fingers curled around his collar as she yanked him down, slamming his face into her rising knee.
"E-Evil doctor, is that really your mother?" Lihua gasped, her throat going dry.
Mingshen didn’t respond because the mother whom he always thought to be a cheerful but slightly airheaded kind of a woman was beating the shit out of a man without a sweat.
"I don’t know," was the only thing he could say.
Blood spurted from Shi Ningkai’s nose. His body went limp as Yang Bingqing’s gaze went cold.
"She or ex-She, Boss or ex-Boss, you cannot dream of defeating me. That was the whole point of me being the Boss and you a subordinate, right?"
