Chapter 434: Breaking trust (2)

Yang Bingqing twisted his arm behind him, stamping her heel onto his calf with effortless control. The kind of precision that didn’t come from training but from killing.

Shi Ningkai spit blood. "You...you betrayed me first...You betrayed my trust! My bitch wife betrayed my trust! All of you women deserve to be in hell..."

"Correction," she smiled sweetly, though her eyes gleamed like steel. "You are the one who would be getting the hell’s ticket. Front row seat. Also..." she leaned closer, her whisper sharp like a blade, "You talk about women deserving hell? You shouldn’t be threatening a woman whose specialty was eliminating men like you."

Jia’s brow twitched.

Aunt, that sounds more incriminating than reassuring...

Mingshen threw a lazy look at his father. "Is that why you fell for her? I can see the appeal. Killing people is damn attractive."

"Shut up," Yang Cheng muttered with a deadpan expression, but Jia could see the small twinkles of pride in his eyes.

She looked at Mingshen. "You are a doctor. You have the opposite job."

"Opposite job for only those who are not idiots."

Yang Bingqing hauled Shi Ningkai up by the handle of his collar as if he weighed no more than a sack of flour. "Officer Tang? New criminal delivery for you~"

Tang Haitao stared, unable to quite express himself. "Mrs. Yang. That form...the arm lock. That’s...some military-level subduing technique."

"Oh, it’s nothing special," she said cheerfully. "Xie taught me quite a few moves back in the day~"

Xie Zi Han himself was in no position to answer. His face was ashen and he stared hard at the floor as if urging to swallow him whole.

"You are one piece of-"

She slammed him face-first into the marble floor again.

"No," she said sweetly. "You are a thousand pieces of shit. I think I should dump you in a pile of poo. You will fit in right there. Feel at home."

Li Beiye muttered under her breath and mentally made a note to herself.

Never piss off Yang Bingqing.

Lihua’’s eyes sparkled while also shivered at the same time.

The former She gang leader had just reminded the entire room -

She might be a wife. She might be a mother. She might be adorable.

But beneath that bright and harmless smile was a woman who was once an assassin. Neither had she lost that nor those skills.

She dumped Shi Ningkai to Tang Haitao for the cops to take care of him. Of course, she was going to have a delectable meal out of torturing him, but that was for later.

"I am parking this bullshit with you for now. I would want him back at a later point," she smiled.

"I am afraid we cannot just hand over criminals like that," Tang Haitao grimaced. "Cops have some protocols."

"Don’t worry, I am not stealing your thunder. You will surely get him back."

"...In one piece?" He asked with emphasis.

"That’s the mystery of it, isn’t it~?"

"Are you going to use my lab for that?" Mingshen asked an important question.

"It’s quite sophisticated, so why not?"

"I will charge you then."

"..."

"Idiot son! How dare you charge your own mother! I gave birth to you. Everything associated with you should be given to me for free!" Her nostrils flared.

"That’s not how this works for me."

Tears pooled in Yang Bingqing’s eyes and she hopped over to hug her husband. "Cheng look, he is bullying me! Aren’t we all family? Shouldn’t I get to use the lab for free?"

Jia and Huojin weren’t quite sure of what to think about Yang Bingqing adorable, pitiful side shedding tears right now. A few seconds ago, she was beating the shit out of a man. A micro second ago, her intentions of probably not returning Shi Ningkai in one piece were crystal clear.

Yang Cheng patted her head. "Hm. You can use the lab for free."

She brightened. "You are the only one who loves me!"

"That’s my lab, Dad."

"Quite a lot of it built with my money," he plainly said.

The officers rushed in and restrained Shi Ningkai, who was too dazed to resist as they dragged him away. His screaming voice disappeared in the distance. Yang Bingqing dusted off her hands and glanced toward her next target for tonight.

"Now that that little piece of trash is taken care of, shall we return to the next criminal of the evening?"

Yang Bingqing approached Mulan, who had slunk farther into the corner with a pale face. She pinched her ear, dragging her forward with no mercy.

"Boss!"

Xie Zi Han finally snapped from his daze, trembling at the way she handled his daughter. He intervened to stop her, but met with a firm and cold palm.

"Stay where you are, Xie."

Mulan’s reddened ear looked as if it would spurt out with blood like a fountain. "Let me go!" The unbearable pain brought tears to her eyes.

Yang Bingqing looked down at her with an expanse of ice in her eyes. "Little Mulan grew up to be quite an interesting adult, huh. From playing games to killing people - you are quite the personality. But you made one mistake."

"Dad, please stop her-"

Yang Bingqing twisted her ear harder, her gaze becoming colder. "Don’t spout that word from your mouth. Don’t call him Dad. You lost that right a long time ago. Cry all you want, but Xie won’t step in. I won’t let him either. Do you know why?"

She pressed her lips, enraged but kept quiet.

"Because he was my right hand man. We have shared a hard life together. And you...broke that man’s trust. Parents should make their children proud of them and children should make their parents proud of them. Xie did his part, so who in the whole wide world’s fuck gave you the right to disappoint him this badly?"

Mulan’s eyes changed. She saw there was no point in donning a mask anymore. Her tears won’t be seen, nor her cries will be heard.

"Disappoint him? My father is the one who willingly gave up on the Yang family - his family. His wealth. His assets. His name. The Yang name belongs to him and yet, an imposter has been sitting on that throne for more than twenty years now! So who disappointed who? Who broke whose trust!"
