Chapter 291: Get Stronger

Good, she was angry, which was a start.

Ahmar stepped close to Bree. He didn’t approach her because he could still sense that Serafina was not willing to let anyone get too close to her. Instead, he calmly said to her, "You are giving up, I get it. I just never thought that you were a quitter, my queen." She slowly got to her feet, her eyes blazing like little suns and god that did something to him.

Seething with rage, she said, "Giving up? If I were a quitter, then I would have let my dragon take over me and killed every person in the vicinity last night. Do not tell me that they didn’t know what Evelyn was trying to do. They did know it, and yet they allowed it to happen. She put a claim on what’s mine, and yet I let her go; that alone is enough to prove that I am no quitter."

"I can understand that you are tired of fighting your dragon, and the drugs in your system are making everything even more confusing, but there is no need for you to hide. I mean to stop fighting just because you think it is inevitable—"

"I think it is inevitable? It is inevitable. What do you even know?!"

He pursed his lips. "Maybe it’s not. Maybe it’s in your head."

"And what do you mean by that?"

"What I said— is clear enough, Your majesty," said Ahmar and when Bree continued to frown, he simply smiled at her and said, "I want you to come with me, your majesty. There is something that I want to show you." He then pointed at the clothes that he had arranged for her and said, "But before that I will appreciate it if you wear something, it’s really hard for me to talk while looking at your eyes instead of ...somewhere more fascinating."

Bree looked down and gasped when she realised that the nightwear that she was wearing was freaking sheer and almost see-through. She glared at the two men who were watching her with a similar sly grin on their lips and snatched the clothes from the bed before marching toward the bathing room.

"Are you really going to hide yourself in the bathing room, your majesty? I think it’s too late for you to hide anything from us now." Blaise called out, and in response, Bree simply flipped the bird at him. Those jerks.

Once the door of the bathing room closed behind her, the smile on Blaise’s lips slipped down, and he turned to look at Ahmar. "I will leave this matter to you."

"Sure, you can," Ahmar spoke as he glanced at the man beside him. "But what are you planning to do? It’s better not to do anything that might cause trouble because the last thing we need is for the council to intervene."

"You think too much." Blaise waved his hand as he made his way toward the door. "Of course, I will not do anything to cause any more trouble at the moment."

Though he said that Ahmar didn’t believe him. Yakov might say that Cian was the crazy one, but he knew better than that; he knew that the one who was probably the craziest among them was none other than Blaise. That man could kill someone with the sweetest smile on his lips, and it was terrifying. He literally had not the slightest bit of care toward the lives of others.

So, it was not a surprise that Ahmar was worried that this man might be planning something sneaky against Lady Evelyn and her brothers.

When Bree stepped out of the bathroom, after changing her clothes, she noticed that the room was emptier than before. Blaise seemed to have left at some point while Ahmar was sitting in a chair close to the balcony where he was reading a book in his hands.

"Where is the third consort?" Bree asked with some concern. She knew Blaise, and the fact that he had been calm till now didn’t sit well with her.

"I don’t know," replied Ahmar as he placed the book down and took a glance at Bree. "He told me that he was going to work, but we can never be sure of it. But I believe that the third consort is smart enough to wipe his butt if he causes trouble, so you do not need to worry, your majesty."

And that only made her worry even more. Knowing Blaise, if he was quiet, then it was not a good sign.

Seeing her frown, Ahmar couldn’t help but feel a trace of envy in his heart. He walked over and traced Bree’s lips with the pad of his thumb before saying, "Your majesty, you shouldn’t worry about another man when I am with you; it makes me jealous."

Bree raised her hand and smacked the hand that was getting way too handsy with her. "You asked me to get ready because you wanted to flirt with me? I think it would have worked better if I were half naked."

"Certainly," drawled Ahmar. "But unfortunately, I am not going for that at the moment." He ignored the throbbing of his length and then shackled her wrist before pulling her along with him.

Sighing, Bree had no other choice but to follow him through the network of corridors, down the stairs of the palace and over the river that flowed behind the gigantic walls. "What are we doing here?" She asked the second when the man released her in the middle of the training area where he trained with his soldiers.

Ahmar slowly started to circle her. "Your biggest problem now is to get stronger than your dragon. The drugs in your system are slow to act, but they are making your dragon outweigh your strength because you are the one getting weak. Since that is the case, we need to work hard on making you strong enough to rein onto your dragon again."
