The dragon's harem-Chapter 1209: Braving the Storm
Countless titanic mountains spread as far as the eye can see from the frigid south to the frozen north. Like the sharp fangs of a great beast, the while peaks were shrouded in a veil of black clouds and raging lightning. The land of everlasting storms and tempests stood in front of the flying carriage, its southern and northern limits outside of Arad's magic range.
The Storm Titan's kingdom was a long mountain chain that was over ten thousand kilometers long from south to north, but only around two thousand kilometers wide. It formed a dreadful barrier that separated the world into two halves.
Humanoids called it the Storm Peaks, a land inhospitable to life besides the great Storm Titans and the vile monsters that dwell in the jagged peaks. The everlasting storm made it impossible to see anything far away and made flying through the chaos a deadly suicide. Most titans used magic to detect approaching caravans in the wake of the blinding clouds and hail, but today, they were horrified.
They detected something flying through the storm at a terrifying speed. Not even dragons could fly through the storm, so what kind of monster was approaching? The experts among the Storm Titans looked at their magical apparatuses and paled.
The flying thing was heading straight for the capital, piercing through the deadliest parts of the storm without slowing down. The storm was a natural barrier, and it made it impossible for anything to attack the Storm Titans through the sky, so they didn't have any kind of aerial defenses. The only aerial defense they had was Zeus; he could control the lightning of the storm to strike anything down, but he didn't need to do that a single time in his life.
"Why did we have to face an aerial threat just when Zeus died?" One of them growled, pushed the apparatuses aside, and growled, crushing under his breath as he rushed through the marble hallways.
Even if they looked like humans, each of them was at least several hundred meters tall.
The strongest and oldest among the Titans could grow into kilometers tall, becoming true powers of pure destruction and might. Zeus's true form stood over two kilometers tall, while Tyal's father was a bit shorter than that. Compared to the feeble humans, the titans were something that looked out of a nightmare, people as tall as the mountains and with strength to match.
The Titans rushed out of the castles that were built into the sides of gigantic mountains and stared at the black shroud of the storm. Lightning illuminated the darkness every now and then, but all of them still couldn't see the thing that was approaching.
Now, hundreds of titans leaned on the edges of their balconies, looking at the dark abyss around them with fear and dread. A deep sense of threat and urgency filled their hearts, and their hands started to tremble. The women dragged their children into their homes and locked the windows, each of those windows bigger than a castle's gate.
Around them, the storm suddenly seemed to twist and change, growing more dire and ferocious as if battling a powerful being. The winds grew faster and so violent that they started ripping the stones of the mountains into dust, lightning grew louder and louder, the hair grew denser, and it pelted the ground with malice.
Suddenly, a chilling roar shattered the sky, causing all of the Titans to shake and stumble, holding their ears. It was then that one of the titans caught a glimpse of what approached in the darkness, massive wings flapping, a dreadful shadow of darkness loomed on the horizon.
"It is… alive?!" The titan didn't know what he expected. But he was sure it wasn't a living creature. What kind of monster can brave the deadliest storm in the world just like that?
The other titans also caught several glimpses of the massive winged creature, and soon, that also faded away, followed by another earth-shattering roar. And then, he emerged from the clouds.
A massive black dragon with obsidian scales, a muscular body, and two eyes burning with purple magic. Even without the tail, the dragon was almost a hundred meters long, and his wings were even wider. He landed at the mountain wall, latched to the edges of the Titans' city, and climbed into the streets. He stood before them like a massive lion stands beside humans. He then roared, causing the weakest of them to bolt away in fear.
One of the titans ground his teeth and approached, holding his massive halberd in his hands. That thing's blade was at least twenty meters long, and the shaft itself around a hundred and ten meters long.
The dragon growled, a deep rumbling echoed in its stomach as it approached the titan, glared at him for a few seconds, then the burning purple flame in its eyes grew weaker, replaced by two sharp eyes.
It was then that the titan recognized something on the dragon's chest. A carriage was strapped to his sternum. The dragon lowered himself to the ground and then suddenly disappeared. The small carriage lay on the ground, and then its door opened.
From the door, a large man clad in onyx armor walked, his body writhing with power. The moment the titans laid an eye on him, they shivered. None of them could mistake him, he was the same dragon they had just seen now.
But what they saw next sent them into a look, a beautiful titan that they recognized well, who walked behind him, their princess, Tyal. Her body sparked with lightning and then grew larger and larger and larger. In the blink of an eye, she stood as tall as the other titans at around a hundred meters. Arad was standing beside her legs, not even reaching her toenail in height.
But then, his body flashed, and he grew larger. He was even taller than her and the other titans. She only reached his shoulders with her head. "So this is your homeland? I guess they lack hospitality." His words rang in the air, and soon the small carriage beside him grew larger, becoming as big as they were. And from it, more people walked out.
Tyal glared at the titans, "What are you waiting for? Clear the road!" Upon her command, the mundane ran away, and the guards rushed to make a path for them.
