The dragon's harem-Chapter 1285: A Father and his Daughter
As Euri was busy trying to find his way into the treasury, Tyal's fight with Gale was about to start. The father and his daughter stood facing each other inside the arena, both wearing their full armor sets and holding their weapons in their hands.
Tyal's armor was black, made of lustrous onyx leather, and she had a long red cap on her back. Her white hair danced with the wind generated by her magic as she looked at her father, who faced her wearing his silver scale armor and holding his long sword on his shoulder.
"Are you sure about this?" Gale said with a large smile on his face.
Tyal's expressionless face didn't change as she replied with an even voice. Grandfather thinks I should do it, so let's start.
Tyal immediately lept at him, swinging her longsword down with all of her power. The blade flashed with light as it dropped on Gale's head like a guillotine.
Gale ducked and lifted his sword up in guard, blocking the attack with a grin. "Is this all you've got?" Gale wasn't playing fair. While his whole armor set was enchanted, Tyal's armor wasn't.
Gale's silver armor weighed almost nothing, thanks to the countless enchantments. His sword was far more durable. Each hit blocked felt several times lighter for him, and his stamina never dropped by that much.
Tyal swung her sword again and again. Each time Gale dodged or deflected her strikes, she could feel most of the impact of her attacks turning back on her wrists.
But even with that, Gale wasn't having an easy time. Tyal far surpassed him in levels and was much faster and stronger. It was only thanks to the arena's enchantments and his armor's magical enchantments that he could hope to stand his ground like this.
Challenging her into a direct sword fight was a bad idea, so Gale immediately held his sword with one hand and jumped back. He wasn't a swordsman, and neither was he a wizard. Gale was a spellsword, and he now flicked his fingers, sending a wind blade flying at Tyal's torso.
The wind blade was both invisible and blindingly fast. Most people won't be able to see, let alone dodge it. But Tyal was also a master of wind magic, and she managed to spot the shift in magic caused by Gale's spell. It only took her a fraction of a second to guess which spell he cast and ducked down.
The wind blade only slashed the tips of her hair. But she didn't care, charging straight at Gale. She was too fast and should be able to reach him before he could retreat to cast another spell. But that was where Tyal made her mistake.
Gale looked at her, his blue eyes sparking with magic as he opened his lips. "BLAST!" He shouted, and his voice turned into a powerful shockwave of compressed air that flew straight at Tyal, blasting her back with enough force that her vision turned black for a few seconds.
It might've looked just like a powerful spell, but that was highly misleading. Tyal and Gale were titans, each of them close to 2km in height.
Gale's shockwave didn't just lift the massive and heavy Tyal off the ground but also blasted her several kilometers back, as the arena was to the scale of Titans and not humans.
If Gale had used such a thing at humans, he would've been able to rip out several cities in one blast. Arad had to keep reminding himself that even the weakest Titans could fight a whole kingdom alone and win. They were massive, fast, and deadly living beings with power that most humans might even mistake for godhood.
Tyal spun in the air and used her wind magic to balance herself and land on her feet. She looked at her father, who was holding his bloodied mouth with a confused face. He was too hasty and didn't hold the spell well. The shockwave ended up shattering a few of his teeth.
Magic is complicated, and when it fails, it can fail in many ways. The way Gale's spell failed was that the part that was supposed to make sure he wasn't harmed by the effect didn't activate.
Gale spat his broken teeth and activated a healing charm to stop the bleeding. He did rush the spell a bit. What a mistake to make. It was quite embarrassing.
Gale took a deep breath and lifted his sword up, ready to charge at Tyal. He needs to make sure he stays calm. He made one mistake, and it cost him several teeth and a lot of pain. He should've just stepped aside instead of forcing a shockwave out.
Gale flew forward and swung his sword at Tyal's neck. She deflected the attack, but his other hand already flicked another wind blade at her torso, which Tyal still blocked with a barrier of her own wind. But even with the barrier, the force of the spell still pushed back, but not before her sword left a deep cut on Gale's shoulder.
Gale flinched as sharp pain surged from his wound down his spine and up to his brain. He could feel as if his eyes were about to fall off as he took a step back, groaned, and strained to take a deep breath. He didn't have any time to recover as Tyal was already back and swinging at him.
The arena shook as the two kept throwing attacks at each other and blocking harrowing spells with their magic. The crowd was already divided into two groups, one cheering on Tyal and one on Gale's side. freewebnσvel.cѳm
Some people did want Gale to win since most of their lives and investments had already shifted in his favor after Zeus lost. They can't afford to make another shift in interests.
The other side of people who cheered Tyal were mostly the commoners and young who didn't have much at stake. Some of them even just wanted to see a woman take the title of the Eye of the Storm for once. There were no rules against it, it was just that it never happened before.
But while those two massive groups cheered, another small percentage of people were still worried about Tyal becoming their Eye of the Storm and handing the whole kingdom to Arad on a silver platter. How is that any different from what happened with the high elf and dark elf kingdoms?
They only hope all of this is just some kind of plan that demi-god Zeus planned with his infinite wisdom.
