The Dramatic Crown Princess Wants to Poison Me!-Chapter 301: Spiritual Swallow
Xia Wenjin’s body shifted to the side, and she vanished from the soldier’s sight. In reality, she utilized the Shadow Circulation Step to appear behind the soldier, clasped her fingers, and struck the soldier’s wrist holding the sword. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
It seemed like a gentle strike, yet the soldier felt as if his wrist had been struck by a heavy hammer. Not only could he not hold the sword, but it also seemed his entire wrist might break. With a miserable cry, the sword clattered to the ground.
With another kick, Xia Wenjin sent the soldier flying, crashing against the wall, sprawling against it, and then sliding down, spitting out a mouthful of blood.
Xia Wenjin glanced at him coldly.
For a soldier encountering a Fourth Rank General, having ambitions of fame is human nature. He released Wen Hao, which, in terms of the current situation overall, didn’t change anything, but his behavior was wrong, betraying his lord for glory.
Yet he intended to kill Xia Wenjin to silence her. Although she stayed to heal all the villagers of Wangshan Town, nearly risking her life, appearing saintly, she wasn’t naive. When ruthlessness was needed, she wouldn’t hesitate.
The soldier never expected that the seemingly frail Doctor Xia, who was weak enough to be knocked over by wind and had just recovered from a severe illness, could kick him so hard that he plastered against the wall.
How skilled was she?
Wasn’t Doctor Xia just a doctor? Furthermore, she seemed so young, even younger than his younger brother.
His chest was in severe pain, as if his organs had shifted. Blood gushed from his mouth as though it cost nothing. The soldier’s eyes grew dimmer.
He regretted it too; had he known the outcome, why did he release Commander Wen?
Even if there was a chance for rewards, one needed life first. Without life, where’s the chance?
He also regretted not escaping after releasing Wen Hao. If he had fled, he wouldn’t have encountered Doctor Xia, wouldn’t have thought of attacking her, and wouldn’t have been injured by her kick.
He stammered, "Save... save me..."
Doctor Xia was a doctor. With injuries like his, Xia Wenjin could certainly heal him.
Xia Wenjin heard his cry for help, cast a cold glance at him, and said indifferently, "I never save those who want to kill me!"
She was a doctor; she had a healer’s compassion, but she didn’t save everyone!
The soldier spat out another mouthful of blood, breathing more out than in.
Xia Wenjin rested a hand on the windowsill, effortlessly flipped outside the window, her nimble figure and ghostly movement technique akin to a Spiritual Swallow.
The soldier’s already dim eyes grew even more bewildered. How blind was he to think Doctor Xia was just a doctor prescribing medicine? To think he could so easily silence her?
Sadly, there was no regret pill. He stared hard at the window, unable to close his eyes.
Of course, Xia Wenjin had no idea what the soldier was thinking. A venomous schemer’s thoughts wouldn’t concern her. Flipping outside, she glanced around, heading southeast. After walking a bit, she could see Huangfu Jingchen’s robes from afar.
It seemed her pursuit direction aligned with Huangfu Jingchen’s!
Wen Hao, like a homeless dog, chose desolate paths, cursing Huangfu Jingchen and Shang Jingwang in his heart. He secretly vowed that once he escaped, he’d make them pay.
He estimated that by now, Lord Yu should have arrived, and he needed to meet with Lord Yu immediately.
He hoped his kidnapping wouldn’t affect Lord Yu’s plans.
It was already dawn, and he was glad he had shed the conspicuous armor. Otherwise, the uniform of a General was so eye-catching that he would have been easily spotted.
For now, he sought places with fewer people, remote locations, avoiding anyone approaching from a distance.
This embarrassment filled him with a sense of humiliation, making him hate Shang Jingwang, Huangfu Jingchen, and Xia Wenjin to the core.
Beyond that bush ahead lay the boundary of Wangshan Town. A little further past the edge was his arranged lookout point.
There, he could send orders and be safe.
Wen Hao displayed his strong psychological resilience, still not relaxing, increasing his vigilance, and scanning around. It was good; there was no one moving, no villagers passing through.
Close, closer...
Just as Wen Hao was about to enter the bushes and leave Wangshan Town’s territory, a cool voice said, "Where do you think you’re going, General Wen?"
Wen Hao looked up sharply. On the right side of the bushes, a youth was sitting with a grass stalk in his mouth, looking at him with a half-smile.
The youth’s refined features were akin to a painting, but in Wen Hao’s eyes, he appeared like a devil.
Wen Hao’s face changed drastically, and his gaze at Huangfu Jingchen was as if poisoned.
Huangfu Jingchen was indifferent, laughing instead, "With that look, General Wen sees me as an enemy? How amusing!"
Wen Hao forced out words between clenched teeth, "Are you even my friend?"
"Not quite!" Huangfu Jingchen chuckled, "I’m merely a kind passerby, seeing something interesting, and wanted to share with General Wen!"
The more Wen Hao observed, the more malicious he found Huangfu Jingchen. He didn’t respond, just snorted heavily through his nose.
Huangfu Jingchen laughed, "Looks like you don’t believe me, but that’s fine. Seeing is believing, after all!"
He got up and walked toward Wen Hao.
Wen Hao growled, "What do you want?"
The expression, the voice, the gaze, as if Huangfu Jingchen was about to do something unimaginable.
He wanted to run, but his legs seemed immobilized. Huangfu Jingchen hadn’t even sealed his acupoints, yet the memory of last night was so vivid, Wen Hao knew he couldn’t escape from him.
Huangfu Jingchen came up to him, paternally patting his shoulder, "I said, let’s watch a show, Commander!"
"Watch what?"
"Follow me, and you’ll see!"
Huangfu Jingchen didn’t waste words, just turned and walked away.
He wasn’t worried about Wen Hao running or taking the opportunity to escape.
Wen Hao’s expression was ever-changing, his eyes flickering, but eventually, weighing his options, knowing he couldn’t run, he followed Huangfu Jingchen, humiliated.
Huangfu Jingchen strolled leisurely, while Wen Hao followed like a mistreated wife.
The scene was quite odd. After all, Wen Hao was burly and brawny, clearly a strong man, while Huangfu Jingchen was elegantly graceful, his robes fluttering, appearing as a carefree youth.
Wen Hao couldn’t fathom what Huangfu Jingchen was planning, only fearing to anger this young man by running again, not wanting to face the consequences.
Huangfu Jingchen brought him to a place and smiled, "Look, isn’t it beautiful?"
