Chapter 150: [150] Song Of Ice And Fire

As the sword demon brought down the storm, Eliron summoned the power of flames.

The area around him got immensely hot, sweat beading down his body as his sword flared, flames circulating around it like a inferno.

He raised his sword, the fire brightening up the world and illuminating his resolve, and just as the shogun descended, with a snarl, Eliron swung his blade.

[SSSR Skill— Summer Rain!]

VWOOOSH!

A booming explosion cut past both fighters as the elements collided, the sound of the blast blotting out every single thing in sight.

The battlefield was a mess, patches of snow in one area, scortched earth in others.

Eliron could hear a loud tingling sound in his ears, and even though he felt warm, there were icicles sticking out of his sword.

"Hahaha!" The winter shogun laughed as he stared at the desecrated battlefield.

"Such stellar swordmanship! Even if it is as a result of a skill, to have such perfect command over SSS grade skills even as an unawakened elf... truly impressive."

He began walking towards Eliron, the blizzard quickly filling up the melted snow.

"Unawakened human?" Eliron asked out loud.

This only made the shogun laugh even louder. "You don’t even know what awakening is?! Fascinating! You have passed the first phase..."

The shogun suddenly vanished, as though lost in the snow.

Eliron focused on his hearing, listening for even the most minute disturbances in the raging blizzard...

Then in a second, he spun, swinging his sword at a shadowy figure at his back.

But all his sword met was plain air. One second, the shogun was there, and in the next, he was gone.

’He has gotten faster!’

Bang!

A kick dug deep into Eliron’s gut, sending him racing through the sky.

The shogun took slow steps, not even bothering to look up, and then once again, he vanished—

Appearing right in front of Eliron.

’When did he—!’

Bang!

He swung his blade down, sparks erupting from both blades as he shoved his sword at Eliron.

They exchanged a variety of strikes, Eliron barely managing to defend against all of them, all while gaining new cuts.

And then while still in the air, the shogun dashed, using the wind as though it were a foot stool.

"Come on man!" Elrion sighed.

The shogun’s body became like a mirage as he darted from angle to angle, moving so fast that Eliron could barely keep track of him.

’It seems I was wrong about him...’ Eliron mused.

At first, he thought he would just be at the level of Kyros, the high elf.

But now, he was sure of it, this sword demon was several times stronger than Kyros, and even faster than himself.

Blade marks carved through the air, as a ton of slashes tore towards Eliron, who held his blade firmly.

[SSSR — Foresight]

[SSSR— Illusionary Blade]

Eliron swung his sword forward to meet the wave of attacks, but just as the sword came, it multiplied.

From a single sword strike, a hundred were born, each one charging right at the shogun.

But the shogun was not phased.

"Illusions? Such a cheap trick won’t work on me!"

Swoosh!

He cleaved right through the hundred illusions, his blade meeting Eliron’s sword within the haze.

Like a meteor, they both descended from the sky, the storm wrapped around them like a blanket as they exploded against the floor.

A net of cracks spread out in all directions, ice clinging onto everything in sight like abyssal claws.

In some areas the ice had turned black as though tainted by corruption, and parts of the shogun’s blue armour had taken the black tint.

Eliron was laying on the cracked landscape, the winter shogun’s cold blade pressed against his throat, blood streaming down his lips.

"Not bad, but you still have a lot to learn kid—" 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

"Summer rain!"

The word was suddenly brightened, yellow light bathing both the shogun and Eliron.

Right before his eyes, the ’Eliron’ he had underneath his blade vanished into a wave of smoke.

"Impossible..." the shogun muttered.

’Were my eyes deceived?’

He had clearly seen through the illusion and sliced through it.

’Oh?’ A small smile appeared on his lips.

"You must have increased the concentration of your mana on a single clone and used the blizzard to mask your presence...."

The blizzard was not a natural one after all, but one made out of mana. That was how he was able to hide in it.

"Impressive." The shogun turned around to see Eliron descending from above like the incarnation of a dragon.

His sword was on fire, and the calamitous flames had grown till the point that they blotted out the very sky.

"In over a thousand battles, I have never fought a newbie as valiant as you!" The shogun screamed at the top of his voice.

His grip on his blade tightened.

"I would use my revelation to honour your valour, but I am afraid you are not quite on that level yet."

Sitting back, begging to be summoned was the monstrous house who sat still, tongue lulling out as it waited in anticipation.

They had seen many glorious days, slain countless foes and danced in several battlefields.

But that would not be the case today.

’Another time, bud...’

The shogun bent his legs, and raised his sword till it was parallel to the ground.

"Song of the ice wyvern~"

The storm rushed towards the sword demon, concentrating around him until it formed a cocoon of wind and snow— a compressed blizzard.

And then he released it right at Eliron, a slash that could cleave the heavens apart.

Both attacks collided, painting the sky in a hue of rainbow colours, the destruction taking apart half of the entire realm.

Ice and fire descended from above like stars, turning the landscape into the makings of a cataclysm.

The world was glitching in some areas, the mana struggling to repair the damage. Some parts of the world had practically been cleaved off, while others were barely staying intact.

Steam was oozing out of the floor, ice was melting alongside icicles that stood several feet tall.

But the two fighters, they were engrossed in the battle, lost in the madness of combat.
