The Evil Lord's Wife Has Spirit Blood-Chapter 355
The moment Francis and Vincent heard that an intruder had appeared in the council building, they rushed back, nearly sure it was the sender of the letter.
When they reached the top floor, the scene they saw wasn’t all that pretty, but at least it wasn’t bloody.
Alexander was supporting Michelle’s barely conscious form in one hand while pressing one of the teachers’ head into the wall, his expressions showing his annoyance.
Neither Vincent nor Francis had seen Alexander before, so they were instantly suspicious.
"Are you the sender of the letter?" Francis asked as his eyes traveled to Michelle to check on her.
Her eyes were open only slightly, and she seemed to be unable to even stand on her own.
Alexander let go of the teacher he was holding and looked over at Francis.
"The Ostrich Academy sure cares for their students!" he spat the words out like venom before grabbing Michelle and roughly pushing her towards Vincent and Francis.
Michelle somehow stumbled a step or two before nearly falling.
But Vincent caught her in time, stabilizing her.
"I’ll take her to the healer facility..." he quickly lifted Michelle in his arms and turned to walk away.
As he did, Michelle finally fully opened her eyes and sent a warning glare at Alexander.
She could do that because everyone’s attention was on Alexander, not her.
Before coming to the academy, she had already told Alexander before, but the glare was to remind him that he was to act along with the plan and not get violent.
What he did with the teacher a moment before was already at the borderline, so Michelle decided to warn him once more.
While Vincent carried Michelle away, Alexander turned his gaze to Francis.
"So, if that student wasn’t related to the second headmaster, you would have done nothing? Is this how the oh-so-great and prestigious Ostrich Academy takes care of its students? Leaving them to drown?" Alexander was clearly provoking, searching for a fight.
Francis could see that, everyone could, but he wanted to resolve things peacefully.
"All the students are taken care of the same by the school," he tried to keep his voice calm as he spoke.
But Alexander’s presence was deeply unsettling, making his skin crawl.
And with such a sensation, it was hard not to show anything.
Alexander let out a cold, mocking laugh.
"Even you don’t believe your own words! How can you expect to fool me with such acting skills?"
Alexander didn’t even give Francis time to defend himself before continuing: "Or are you telling the truth and everyone including Ana Ostrich can die anytime and nobody will care?"
From Alexander’s demeanor, it was easy to tell that he didn’t have any trust in the academy and its teachers.
Francis truthfully didn’t understand why that was the case.
The academy did have some enemies, but those were more like rival institutes and enemies from personal grudges, nothing that would make people distrust the academy so much.
So did that mean that Alexander had some kind of personal feud with the academy?
Or was there something so terribly wrong when he found Michelle that it was only natural to assume that the academy was a corrupt organization?
Francis’ thoughts were a complete and utter mess.
In reality, the reason for Alexander’s clear hostility was very simple.
He was just acting according to the plan.
Also, he didn’t like the whole Ostrich family, so his hostility was partially genuine.
Francis tried to talk to Alexander, wanting to find out what was going on.
Whether it was a personal grudge, or something was wrong when Alexander found Michelle, it would be worth it to find out.
So, the two talked for quite a while.
The teachers around left when they saw that the headmaster was taking care of things.
Michelle had basically come up with something like a script for Alexander, wanting the conversation with Francis to reach a certain stage.
To come up with the script, Michelle used Vincent’s help.
As Francis’ brother, he knew how Francis would act so Michelle knew what to take into consideration when making the script.
Well, script... Michelle knew that if she gave Alexander a script, he wouldn’t follow it.
So it was more like she gave him descriptions of the improvisations he should make.
So, while Alexander was talking with Francis, Michelle wasn’t worried about it and went with Vincent to the healer facility.
There, John examined her, confirming that her state indeed seemed like that of a person who had nearly drowned.
But, luckily, it seemed that she was getting better slowly without needing medical attention, which meant she was pulled out of the water before she was seriously harmed.
Or that the person who fished her out took care of her like a healer would.
In reality, Michelle was in such state because her so-called drowning happened in a controlled environment.
Michelle knew it.
Vincent knew it.
Just John was unaware and acted like a proper healer, making sure Michelle was fine and that she didn’t have any hidden problems. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
After a while, John was done examining Michelle and she was free to return to her dorm.
Apparently, the rest would be taken care of by the teachers and she shouldn’t worry about it.
If they had any questions about what happened to her, they would ask her after she rested enough.
Hearing that, Michelle instantly wanted to go back to her dorm where the bathroom was apparently filled with gore, but Vincent suggested she didn’t do it.
She had to remember that at the moment, she was pretending to be a young girl who had never really even gotten into fights.
Someone like that should be traumatized if someone put dissected organs and severed limbs into their bathroom, not want to explore it.
Michelle nodded, that made sense.
But that didn’t mean she wouldn’t go explore the room.
So, officially, while keeping shadow essence in her shadow to stay visible, she went into the dorm room she had amongst Marcus’ students.
Once there, she retracted the shadow essence and left the room again, going out through the window.
Invisible to everyone’s eyes, she went to sneak into her dorm room amongst Antony’s students.
She wanted to see the bloody scene.
As far as she knew, it hasn’t yet been cleaned.
That was because additionally to the barrier that was keeping the smell of rot and decomposing from leaving the room, the teachers that examined the room noticed there was another barrier.
The barrier excluded spirit energy into the room which sunk into the bloody parts, stopping them from decomposing.
That meant that if Michelle went there, the room should have been in the same state as when it was first found: in other words, in the same state as the culprit left it.
Or so that was what Michelle was told, but even when she was already approaching the dorm building, she could faintly smell the metallic scent of blood and the pungent smell of rot.
That made Michelle frown, but she continued into the building.
And as she did, she made sure to take a good look at all the students, checking whether they were affected by the scent.
But not a single one was showing a reaction to it.
No frowns of disgust, no wrinkled noses.
Just normal students going through their lives.
Some were talking and laughing, some rushing around, probably to their classes.
Seeing that, Michelle proceeded into the dormitory and went to the far back of the hallway, stopping in front of the door.
She knew she couldn’t open the door because that would reveal her.
Glancing around, she quickly found a solution.
As one of the students was about to enter their room, Michelle saw that the window was open.
In an instant, Michelle rushed through the door before the girl closed it and went to the window.
Stepping out, she remained standing on the windowsill.
From there, she looked at all the windows between her and the window to her room.
The way there was easy: she just needed to step between the windowsills to get to her window.
The windows were quite close to each other, so in just a minute, Michelle was in front of her room.
Looking through the glass, she saw Antony standing by the door, staring right at the window.
But he didn’t seem to be able to see her.
Looking back, Michelle checked there was no one behind to see her.
Then, for just a few seconds, she summoned her shadow essence and put it into her shadow, letting Antony see her.
The moment he noticed her, Michelle retracted the shadow essence.
Knowing about how Michelle had messed with the Heavenly Law, Antony knew Michelle could disappear whenever she wanted.
So he was aware that just because he couldn’t see her, it didn’t mean she wasn’t there.
So, Antony walked to the window and opened it for a moment.
In that short span of time, Michelle jumped into the room.
A moment later, Antony closed the window.
He didn’t even step back properly when the curtains next to him moved.
Michelle closed them.
When the outside world was blocked out, Michelle reappeared.
"Hi, Master!" she smiled as she greeted him.
Antony shook his head helplessly as he stared at Michelle.
Originally, he was worried about her, but the moment he saw her at the windowsill, he knew she was perfectly fine, probably messing around.
"Did you come here to check the bathroom?" he asked.
Michelle nodded.
"But, Master, wasn’t it said there was a barrier to keep out the smell? How come I can still smell it? From outside the dorm building?" she asked.
And her question clearly surprised Antony.
