Chapter 276: Oppression and Retaliation

"Sorry to keep you waiting, Luna."

A beautiful ten-year-old girl ran up, panting, and stopped in front of her.

Luna smiled and waved. "It’s fine. But why were you late? Did something happen, Gisha?"

Gisha lifted her head and gave a small, weak smile.

"Nothing serious. Professor Kruk just asked me to help finish a few things," she replied, straightening up. "Anyway, let’s go to that food shop in the cafeteria you said was delicious."

Luna didn’t press further and nodded. "Let’s go."

The two walked side by side toward the cafeteria. Boys who passed by couldn’t take their eyes off them.

Luna was breathtaking, especially with her striking pink hair. Her calm, cold expression seemed to warn anyone to stay several meters away.

Next to her, Gisha was small and adorable. Her chubby cheeks and innocent brown eyes naturally drew affection.

Noticing the stares, Gisha turned to Luna and joked, "You’re still as attention-grabbing as ever. Sometimes I feel jealous."

She sighed softly, a look of helplessness crossing her face. Compared to Luna, she often felt inferior.

Luna was tall, well-proportioned, and extraordinarily talented.

She had even ranked in the top three in the last test, which often left Gisha feeling insecure.

Seeing this, Luna smiled gently and patted Gisha’s head.

"They’re not staring at me—they’re staring at you, Gisha. Don’t you see your own charm? You’re adorable, with your round face, chubby cheeks, and innocent eyes. I’m sure you’ll have plenty of admirers in the future."

What Luna said wasn’t nonsense—Gisha really did have all those advantages.

Merlin had once told her that boys had their preferences. Some liked girls with cold expressions, others liked those who smiled easily, or those as adorable as Gisha.

So Luna was certain the boys around them weren’t just looking at her—they were also noticing Gisha.

And honestly, she didn’t care about their admiring glances.

For her, only Merlin mattered. Other boys couldn’t have her—they could only watch from a distance.

"Really?" Gisha’s eyes sparkled. "They’re looking at me too?"

"Of course," Luna said with a reassuring nod. "I’m telling the truth."

Gisha believed her completely. Luna had never lied to her.

Before they realized it, they had reached the academy cafeteria area. Other students were passing by, stopping at different shops to buy food.

Luna’s gaze scanned the area before settling on Lisa’s Thorn & Vine.

Just as she started toward it, a scream cut through the air.

"Let me go!"

Luna and Gisha froze, exchanging a quick glance, then ran toward the sound.

When they arrived, they saw an unexpected scene: an arrogant boy had a firm grip on the wrist of a girl their age.

The boy grinned teasingly. "So, what about my offer? Leave that guy named Merlin and become my subordinate. Don’t worry, I’ll pay you well. Just say yes."

The girl—none other than Nivis—glared at him and refused firmly.

"I don’t want to! Let me go!"

The smile on the boy’s face vanished, replaced by pure anger.

"Damn you! How dare you defy the prince’s orders!"

Smack!

A sharp slap landed on her right cheek, sending Nivis staggering to the side before crashing into a chair and a table.

"Nivis!"

Lisa panicked, rushing forward. She helped Nivis to her feet and checked her cheek, now bright red from the blow.

"Are you all right?" she asked, her voice tinged with worry.

Nivis held back her tears and gave a weak nod.

"I’m... fine... mother," she whispered hoarsely.

Lisa felt her heart shatter. Nivis had just recovered from her illness, and now she had to endure this.

But there was nothing she could do. The one who had struck her was Lucius—the prince of the Magic Kingdom of Arcadia.

Lisa turned to him, her eyes pleading.

"Your Highness, please... can you leave? We just want to work here, nothing more."

Lucius, however, wasn’t even slightly moved. He crossed his arms arrogantly and sneered, "I don’t care about your excuses. The bottom line is, I don’t want your daughter working with Merlin Clay anymore. If she does..."

A faint, cruel smile appeared on his lips. "Neither of you will be allowed here again."

The students around them froze, exchanging uneasy glances.

They knew Lucius was arrogant—but this was excessive.

Threatening to expel a cafeteria worker just to keep her away from someone? Such a blatant display of power.

This academy was supposed to be neutral—a place where even children of high status couldn’t act on a whim.

But Lucius, fueled by arrogance, flaunted his status and did as he pleased.

Though everyone resented his attitude, no one dared confront him.

His status as prince was intimidating, and any one of them could easily become his next target.

Lisa’s fury simmered, but she felt utterly powerless.

At last, she understood what it truly meant to be helpless against someone above.

"I..."

She hesitated, about to speak, when a cold voice cut through the tension from behind them.

"How wonderful. This is the first time I’ve seen someone so arrogant up close."

Shocked, Lucius, Lisa, Nivis, and the others turned toward the source of the voice, only to see Luna standing there.

"That’s Luna Tharot, Merlin Clay’s partner!" someone whispered in awe.

Excitement and anticipation coursed through the crowd. Something remarkable was about to happen.

Lucius’s eyes narrowed at Luna. He knew her—Luna Tharot, one of his targets—but seeing her appear here, now, was completely unexpected.

"Very good, Luna Tharot. What a coincidence—"

Before he could finish, Luna’s hand shot out, slapping him hard across the right side of his face.

The slap sent his body flying two meters before he crashed into a pile of empty chairs.

Everyone froze, unable to believe what had just happened.

Even Gisha, standing behind Luna, widened her eyes in shock.

Lucius groaned, clutching his back and head.

"You... you’re insane! How dare you slap me!" he yelled, his eyes blazing red.

His gaze was sharp enough to pierce Luna, as if he could tear her apart on the spot.

But Luna didn’t flinch. She stepped forward, making Lucius visibly tremble.

Stopping directly in front of him, she crouched and gripped his neck, her eyes cold and unyielding.

"Afraid? Don’t make me laugh. I’m not afraid of you."
