Chapter 41: Chapter 40 - Slash!

"Fu~" Lev covered his mouth with both hands to keep the psychopathic smile off from his face.

"Are you okay?" Astaroth waved his hand in front of Lev’s eyes as if realizing that Lev would have difficulty receiving his demonic aura.

However, as he realized that Lev was fine from Lev’s still calm gaze, he seemed to emit light from his eyes. "Wow, just as I expected from someone who has tasted my majesty."

Astaroth ended up being a cheerleader who encouraged Lev to defeat Andrei.

"Did you know that he’s my father?"

"Uh, isn’t he your enemy? You mean, your father is your enemy?"

He seemed to be deep in thought. Lev thought that if Astaroth found out about the father-son relationship between Lev and Andrei, then Astaroth would laugh with joy like a typical demon who loves conflict—not to mention the conflict between family members.

It was not uncommon for a demon to play games with humans by having a husband kill and torture his wife, or a father torture his son and various other similar acts.

"Take it easy. I will give you a good show. I won’t use your borrowed power just to run away."

"Uh, but, aren’t human creatures put their feelings first? Don’t humans usually value their own family members the most?"

"It’s mostly as you say. It’s just that, in some cases, humans can be more disgusting than demons."

"Grrr. Are you talking about me?"

"Not you. I mean the stupid demons out there. Besides, it doesn’t seem like you’re the same as other demons."

"Bu-ha~ of course I’m not the same as those stupid and wild demons out there. Have you become more of an admirer of me? Hahaha..." He laughed as he turned up his nose, like a proud little boy. "But, you speak as if you’ve seen other demons many times."

As Astaroth’s face turned suspiciously toward Lev, suddenly the transparency of Astaroth’s body became worse. Astaroth’s body seemed to be affected by a glitch, similar to a computer screen that was about to go out. What was originally in front of Lev was Astaroth’s existence, now changed to Andrei’s face.

"Have you forgotten that you’re dealing with me?!"

Andrei lunged right at Lev’s face, piercing through Astaroth’s body. When Andrei’s face was very close to Lev’s, Andrei launched a punch with his right hand that had changed to point right at Lev’s face.

This time was different from what happened before. Lev would not allow himself to be beaten unilaterally anymore.

His body could now move according to his will. Unlike before, where he could sense Andrei’s movements but his body didn’t want to follow.

Instead of dodging Andrei’s attack, Lev blocked Andrei’s punch with his palm.

Puch!

Plop!

Andrei’s punch which had been amplified due to activating the demonic hand ended up being absorbed by Lev’s fist.

When it came to the quality of the demonic aura, although the demonic aura used by Andrei also came from Astaroth, it seemed that the demonic aura used by Andrei was still inferior to the demonic aura used by Lev.

However, when it came to quantity, the demonic aura felt from Andrei’s body was more abundant.

"I forgot to tell you. Since I just woke up from the seal, I don’t have much demonic aura that I can share with you. You’d better finish your fight soon."

Astaroth stuck out his tongue while scratching the back of his head exactly like a child who had just done something ignorant. ’Did his personality adjust to his child-like form of existence?’ Lev felt curious.

Besides telling Lev to end the fight in an instant, Astaroth also told him another very important piece of information. He told Lev the characteristics of the demonic aura he possessed. "When I was in my prime, I was very famous for my space magic."

Astaroth said that as if he was bragging about his past prowess. However, the information conveyed by Astaroth was unexpectedly beneficial to Lev.

Whether Aura or Magic users, they all had their own characteristics. Just by knowing the characteristics of your Aura or Magic, then you are already the same improving your ability several levels up, because it was the same as knowing how to properly use the weapons you have.

Punches, kicks, elbows, and all of Andrei’s attacks in utilizing close-combat skills were neutralized by Lev.

Lev moved the demonic aura as if it were a whirlwind, coiling around every part of his body that received an attack.

"What, you can immediately use my ability characteristics just by hearing my words?" Astaroth’s mouth opened wide in the air.

Lev accepted the unconscious instructions that came out of Astaroth’s mouth.

He applied the use of demonic aura according to Astaroth’s words, as a result, Andrei was exhausted and stopped attacking Lev.

Speaking honestly, Lev also did not expect that he would succeed.

He was indeed someone who had risen from the dead twice, but he was not the main character who had a special all-round trait. Finally, he drew the conclusion that he could do it because he was used to handling Aura instead.

In the gap that opened up for a split second where Andrei was exhausted, Lev took his time to draw the sword at his waist that he hadn’t been able to take out due to Andrei’s constant surprise attacks.

[Swordsmanship - Activated.]

[Mana String - Activated.]

[Dark Mana: 37%.]

[Dark Mana: 36%.]

[....]

[Dark Mana: 3%.]

[Dark Mana: 0%.]

Lev drained the remaining Dark Mana.

He had to put in everything he could because he realized that Andrei was too strong for his current self. Especially when he awakened the demonic hand and demonic eye.

Lev would be easily overtaken if he ran away.

He could only hope that the combined effort between demonic aura and dark mana would create enough power to kill Andrei.

Wuung!

The mana string that Lev released by maximizing the remaining dark mana coated every inch of the sword he was holding until the color of the sword he was holding turned a deep dark color.

"Argh!"

Before Lev could swing the sword, Andrei was already holding his eyes. He looked in pain.

Earlier, Andrei’s eyes seemed to be emitting a bright red color as if he was trying to identify Lev. However, Andrei’s eyes ended up bleeding like someone crying.

Lev could only frown.

Jump!

Andrei jumped up as if he wanted to escape through the small hole he had made earlier to enter this field boss.

Following Andrei’s movement, Lev also jumped. There was no way Lev would let this opportunity go to waste.

There was no shouting of skill names.

There were no shouts of encouragement like a battle between important characters.

Also, there was no dramatic effect when Lev swung his sword.

Slash!

As if Andrei could feel a sword slash about to hit him, he forced his eyes open even though they were still bleeding.

Andrei had pulled out a weapon from his magic pouch.

More precisely, Andrei had taken out the gauntlet as he jumped off the floor. So when Lev swung his sword, the gauntlet was already attached to Andrei’s right hand, ready to deflect Lev’s attack.

The sparkling colors on the gauntlet in Andrei’s hand indicated that it was a very luxurious weapon. Moreover, there were colorful gems as well. However, the gauntlet was instantly torn apart bit by bit when he struck the gauntlet against Lev’s sword.

When Andrei’s blow and Lev’s sword slash finally met, the gauntlet in Andrei’s hand was completely transformed into an ordinary piece of metal, shattered into pieces.

As a result of the impact, Andrei’s hand was sent flying backward, while Lev who was using both hands to swing his sword still continued to slash his sword to the end.

In the end, Lev’s sword managed to slash Andrei’s neck.

Swoosh!

Pitter-patter!

Andrei’s head detached from his body and fell to the ground.

Hitting the ground first was his headless body, while his head followed later. Andrei’s fallen head had its eyes wide open as if to indicate that Andrei was shocked just before he breathed his last.

The sound of blood splattering in the air could be heard, albeit softly. The blood coming out of Andrei’s severed body was similar to raindrops, soaking the floor slowly.

Although everything seemed to be over, Lev was wrong.

His slash did not end when he finished executing Andrei.

A large hole was created by his slash, making the ceiling of the field boss fully connected to the main mansion building.

Lev didn’t fall too deep while marveling at the greatness of his slash. He quickly calmed down and concluded that he had been too loud.

With a gaping hole of that size, and from the sound of an explosion as loud as that, the people above would surely rush in.

’I guess I should get out of here.’

"Hm? What are you doing there?" Lev spoke with Astaroth.

While Lev was pensive trying to understand the situation, there was Astaroth flying around Andrei’s severed head. He looked like a fly swarming over a rotting corpse.

Astaroth scratched his chin with his fingers as if thinking about something.

"Weird, I feel like I’ve seen this guy’s face before," Astaroth muttered under his breath.

"Do you know him?"

"I don’t know. I’m not sure." He seemed hesitant at first, but after acting like a detective, an "Oh," came out of his mouth. A realization seemed to come to Astaroth’s mind.

"Unmistakably, that fused eyebrow...."

Astaroth then explained about the incident about thirty years ago.
