The Gentleman at the End-Chapter 331 - 330 Dinner Party
Chapter 331: Chapter 330: Dinner Party
Chapter 331 -330: Dinner Party
[Phelps’s Cattle]
A roadside restaurant with a giant cow skull hanging above its sign.
In one of the private rooms, an eating contest seemed to be underway, with waitstaff continuously bringing in dishes like steak, fried bone skewers, and tendon meatball soup.
Every so often, a large number of plates would be carried out from the room.
Inside the private room,
Reagan and Zede ate voraciously as if nothing was wrong,
Reagan had been staying at the Power Station this whole time, assisting with the Dreaming project and analyzing various brainwave data, hardly ever having a proper meal.
Zede had also expended a large amount of energy in the Dreaming process and hadn’t had the chance to eat a hot meal after waking.
Their hearty eating contrasted sharply with the two other people across the table who appeared frail and had no appetite at all.
Covered in wounds, with visible indentations in their bodies where bones had not yet properly regrown.
Yi Chen and Jin could only lean on each other, struggling to maintain their sitting posture, or rather, their stomachs had not fully healed, and their organs were just barely taking shape.
If they hadn’t already pushed their limits, if Jin hadn’t provided the meat juice, this eating scene would probably be at Hippocrates Hospital’s Inpatient Department.

The reason Reagan wasn’t injured was simple.
As the technical provider for the Dreaming project, he had been assisting from the periphery of the Dream Entry Room the whole time and naturally saw the terrifying scene of Zede in his sleep suppressing the deputy director with one hand, almost breaking the prosthetic arm.
When called to Zede’s basement office by his companions, he declined all potential ‘physical combat’ requests on account of his own body not being quite up to par.
He merely participated with his spiritual power, mainly supporting Yi Chen and Jin, and would never attack Zede with spiritual power.
In the end, it was still only Yi Chen and Jin who got beaten up.
At that moment, Zede, who was in the midst of eating, actually had tears-like saliva flowing from the corner of his mouth, “This place is really good. I wonder if we’ll be able to keep eating here in the future… Ah~ I also wonder how long the organization can hold on.”
Yi Chen, on the other hand, was quite interested in this rather pessimistic topic,
“If the Grey Zone completely spreads here and Zion is enveloped by it, no longer serving as a fixed abode, does the organization have any plans, teacher?”
“I never touch the management level of the organization, only knowing that the higher-ups have always been making preparations for the impending global Pathological spread. As for what they plan to do specifically, I’m not sure.”
Then, Reagan, who was sitting nearby, took over the conversation.
“Once the Grey Zone fully spreads and enshrouds Zion,
The residents here would likely be split into two groups. Those gentlemen who are not strong enough and haven’t made an Extreme Breakthrough will remain in the city. Our Power Station will support a special magnetic field, trying to maintain a stable city state under the influence of the Grey Zone as much as possible.
The First Gentleman and the Divine Skin Mansion personnel will also perform skin transplants across the city, allowing the gentlemen remaining to obtain a relatively stable living environment through their clothing.
Of course, no matter what, it can’t compare to the current situation. Life then will inevitably have inherent risks, and power delivery will be cut off on a large scale.
There will also be frequent pathological and uncontrolled incidents within Zion.”
“As for the other group, the gentlemen who have completed their Extreme Breakthrough and can live and explore independently within the Grey Zone environment can choose to leave Zion and start a ‘Journey of Wandering.’
The organization will not give any advice. They can wander alone or establish their own small teams or groups to wander together.
There’s only one requirement, no matter what, always maintain the dignity of a gentleman and pass on the anthem of humanity.”
“Reagan, how do you know all this?”
“I’m the director of the Power Station, after all. I still know about these things. Plus, I need to consider in advance and ensure that Faye and I make proper arrangements for our future life.”
Yi Chen took the opportunity to follow up on the topic, “Reagan, what are your plans when the time comes? Stay in the city, or start the Journey of Wandering?”
“Naturally, staying in Zion is more stable. At least, I have great confidence in my technology at the Power Station. Paired with the city-wide skin transplants, at least Faye and I can live a peaceful life.”
“And you, teacher, do you have any plans?”
Zede, who was gnawing on a rib, spoke without care, “I haven’t decided yet, I’ll just go with the flow~ If Zion still exists, I’ll probably stay here.”
“Hmm…”
Jin, seeing that Yi Chen didn’t ask for his opinion, hurriedly interjected, “Hey, why didn’t you ask me!”
“I know that you would definitely leave Zion, Jin. Haven’t you mentioned this to me many times? When the time comes, you should be planning to go to the Old World and live in Cancer Palace, right?”
“That’s true, I did tell you.”
Yi Chen brought the topic back to the two people across the table, “Reagan, teacher… What if Zion already has problems before the spread of the Grey Zone reaches us?”
Reagan spoke seriously, “I have considered this in advance, and I am currently conducting some relevant equipment research and development within my research facility. Should fleeing become the only option, it should be able to increase our chances of survival.”
Yi Chen also took the opportunity to make a suggestion, “If that’s really the case, let’s all leave together when the time comes.”
“Great, I can take everyone to Cancer Palace for a bit of fun!” Jin was the first to raise his hand in approval.
Reagan also raised his hand; he had already acknowledged his two companions and believed that if anything were to truly happen to Zion, it would at least be a few years away. Considering their talents, they should be able to reach the highest standards within the organization.
Only Zede remained silent, seemingly weighed down by other concerns and worries.
Seeing that the teacher was not too cheerful, Yi Chen quickly changed the subject, “Alright! Let’s not talk about such heavy topics. Let’s eat well and drink well, this meal is on me.”
“Speaking of that, William!”
“What is it, teacher?”
“I know you’re very serious about matters regarding the Gentleman’s Skin, and you even wish to pursue the path of the ‘First Gentleman.’ So, after collaborating with Mr. Spacy, I briefly recommended you. If you’re interested, you might want to reach out to him.”
“Thank you, teacher!”
After the meal, everyone went their separate ways. For a while, Yi Chen was not planning to visit Zede’s teacher, at least he needed some time to move on from the shadows of being beaten up.
It consequently fell into place that he would go with Jin to the apartment to live, assisting with the meat processing.
A week later,
The organization had finished coordinating the aftermath of the nightmare event, rewarding all personnel involved in the dreaming plan and the Executioner Group who pursued the nightmares in Cesimani.
The rewards were divided into four tiers.
1. Minor Contribution
2. Ordinary Contribution
3. Effective Contribution
4. Optimal Contribution
Among those nominated for Optimal Contribution were a total of six people,
1. The monster imprisoned in O.C.A, Hogni Zede
2. Founders of the Twin Church, one of the Prophets, Marko and Martin
3. The slaughtering Watcher of Cesimani, one of the Prophets, Sealed Yuri
4. Chief Tailor, Wrinkled Skin Spacy
5. Creator of the Nightmare Staircase Theory, Ludwig Reagan
6. William Behrens
These six individuals will be jointly invited to the Hall of Honor to receive the highest level of honor from within the organization. In addition, a carver will be present to sculpt a joint portrait of the six, naming it ‘Dispelling Nightmares’ as an important collectible to be kept in the Hall for posterity to remember.
Beyond that, one among the six will be chosen to receive the highest level of reward.
Dawn was just breaking.
Yi Chen, who shared a mattress bed with Jin, had spent a significant amount of time preparing meat the night before. It took a full five minutes of knocking—so vehement that it nearly shattered the door—for him to wake up groggily.
Bleary-eyed, he opened the door to receive an invitation letter sealed with a golden [G&D] stamp from a gentleman enveloped in a cloak, his face obscured.
