The Growth of a Titan in the Cultivation World-Chapter 108 - 105- Unable To Stay Angry
Chapter 108: Chapter 105- Unable To Stay Angry freeweɓnøvel~com
The city where the Martial Alliance Academy was located was rightfully called the Martial Alliance City. Because it was the center of Jianghu, on a normal day, one would see citizens and visitors flood its streets.
However, on this particular day, all these visitors and citizens of the city were standing on either side of the main street to watch the future of Jianghu leave.
It was the opening day of the Hundred Plants and Herbs Dimension.
The disciples of the Martial Alliance Academy were leaving the Academy and walking through the streets of the Martial Alliance City. Some of them were either carrying a spear in hand, or they had a sword, or a saber strapped to their sides to show off their heroic spirits.
It was a publicity stunt the Academy did every year the Hundred Plants and Herbs Dimension opened to display their disciples.
From the gates of the Administration Mountain, all the way down the Heavenly Staircase, and through the streets of the city, the disciples of the Martial Alliance Academy could be seen walking towards the city gates.
It was a rather huge stunt.
Each time it occurred the people of the city would gather and observe these disciples in amazement.
These were disciples of the Martial Alliance Academy!
Who knows? They were probably looking at someone who will become a legendary figure in the cultivation world in the near future!
Among the disciples, there were some who were silent but still excited about this trip.
However, there were some disciples that were more expressive, and they hooted and hollered, making a ruckus that disturbed the other disciples.
"Oh man, I can’t wait to enter the Hundred Plants and Herbs Dimension! Hey, what if I find a legendary Tier 9 medicinal plant and become an Immortal after eating it?"
"Pfft! Are you serious? Your imagination is as big as that forehead of yours!"
"Ha-ha! Yeah, and even if you do manage to find a legendary Tier 9 medicinal plant, it won’t be yours. Only the top geniuses entering the Dimension are qualified to fight for treasures like that!"
"Yeah, that’s what I’m more excited to see. Imagine if one really did appear, we’d get to see all the geniuses battling it out!"
"Yeah, yeah, but it’s disappointing that the Rising Stars from the Six Holy Sects and the Five Great Clans won’t be entering."
"Hm, that’s true."
Some of the disciples were excited to find medicinal plants worth a good fortune, but others were just excited to see the battles that would occur in the Hundred Plants and Herbs Dimension over those valuable medicinal herbs.
"So, you’re saying they won’t be coming?"
Among the disciples leaving the Martial Alliance City, Sol in his yellow robes was walking between Mar-Dule and Yoon-Jae. He had turned to ask Yoon-Jae this question.
Yoon-Jae sneered and then replied.
"Do you really think they would have entered? They would rather leave things like this to other people. What they would instead do is sit back and wait for these medicinal plants to enter their Sect or Clan and then use their influence to obtain them."
Sol explained the reason why he thought otherwise.
"I just thought people like them would thrive in a setting like this. From how Brother Yoon-Jae was describing them, they seem like the type of people who would want to be in the spotlight any chance they got."
Mar-Dule snorted.
"The only thing they hate more than being in the spotlight is doing dirty work like gathering medicinal plants."
Sol pondered on Mar-Dule and Yoon-Jae’s words, and he got a deeper understanding of these Rising Stars.
They were lazy geniuses.
’Well, at least Brother Byeong-Ho is different from them, I heard he’s coming.’
Sol felt a bit of anticipation rise in his heart. He and Byeong-Ho had formed a strange relationship.
They weren’t enemies, but their desire to fight each other was more intense than two people who had a blood feud. They also weren’t exactly friends since... well, they constantly wanted to fight each other.
It was a rivalry, but it wasn’t an ordinary rivalry.
’Oh, I understand why Brother Byeong-Ho was so eager to fight me back then. If I was in his position and only people like those lazy geniuses were close to my level, I would go crazy.’
Until Sol appeared, Byeong-Ho must have been starving to battle with someone in his generation that could give him a challenge. Instead, he was always forced to hold himself back.
He must have seen Sol as an outlet to release all that pent up desire.
As for Sol, he saw Byeong-Ho as a target that won’t stagnant but continuously grow stronger as much as he did. With a target like that, he was sure he would always feel the urge to get stronger.
Sol believed this was the relationship his Master and Uncle Master wanted to foster between Yoon-Jae and himself, but instead, they became close friends.
Of course, there were a few instances where they sparred with each other, but Sol felt it wasn’t the same as sparring with Byeong-Ho at that time.
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
Yoon-Jae asked when he saw that Sol intensely staring at his face.
Sol snapped out of his thoughts.
"Ah, I was just thinking that Brother Yoon-Jae isn’t really a good sparring partner."
Sol said before he turned to look ahead.
"I see..."
Yoon-Jae answered casually, but he also had to shift his head to one side when Sol turned. This was because a ridiculously large golden bow was slung across Sol’s shoulders. It was so large, and shiny while reflecting the sun’s rays, that it drew a few dumbfounded stares from the disciples in the surroundings.
"Brother Sol, what about me, am I a good sparring partner?"
Mar-Dule asked as he pointed at himself.
Sol smiled and patted Mar-Dule’s shoulder.
"Brother Mar-Dule is Brother Mar-Dule."
"Huh? Is that your way of saying I’m not a good sparring partner?"
Sol shook and smiled as he patted Mar-Dule’s shoulder some more.
This seemed to irk Mar-Dule as he swatted Sol’s hand away and said proudly with his chest puffed out.
"Brother Sol, I know you also have a strong physique, but you can’t underestimate me!"
This was the prideful Mar-Dule showing himself.
Sol shook his head once again and explained.
"That’s not the case Brother Mar-Dule, I’m not questioning your strength. If you were to go all out, neither I nor Byeong-Ho would have a hundred percent chance of defeating you. However, a spar with Brother Mar-Dule will be boring since you won’t be able to go all out."
Mar-Dule, upon hearing that, paused, but then blushed a bit as he said softly.
"Oh, that’s what you meant, Brother Sol."
The way in which Mar-Dule cultivated his Runic Physique was to store Metal-type Aether Energy in his flesh. During battles, he would be able to call on that reservoir of energy to multiply his strength by who knows how many folds.
However, Sol couldn’t imagine how hard it was to store this amount of energy. So, it would be obvious Mar-Dule wouldn’t use it during a mere spar.
While Yoon-Jae was dodging Sol’s bow, he silently watched this exchange between Sol and Mar-Dule. He especially observed Mar-Dule across from Sol and how he reacted just now.
’With Sol taking the spotlight, he must be feeling slightly jealous.’
It seemed Mar-Dule had wanted to enter the Martial Alliance Academy and create a stir by challenging the untouchable geniuses from the Six Holy Sects and Five Great Clans. That’s why he entered the Martial Hall Pagoda.
However, Sol showed up and did everything he set out to do. Perhaps, it was natural he felt upset.
To Yoon-Jae, Mar-Dule’s reaction just now was clearly his underlying jealousy peeking out, but Sol’s honest and thoughtful answer must have felt like he had lashed out and kicked an innocent puppy that was walking by for no reason.
’That’s just how Sol is, you really can’t stay angry with him when he’s like that.’
Yoon-Jae thought internally, but he suddenly had to shift his head once again. He couldn’t help but have his eyes twitch with annoyance.
"Hey, can you put that massive bow away?! Why are you even carrying it across your shoulder? Don’t you have a big enough storage bag to put it in?"
Yoon-Jae glared at Sol as he said this.
"Oh, I’m sorry."
Sol scratched his cheek and smile embarrassingly.
"I saw everyone carrying their weapons so I thought I should too. I’ll put it away if it’s bothering you, Brother Yoon-Jae."
Yoon-Jae’s anger suddenly faltered, and he just sighed.
"Wait..."
Yoon-Jae stopped Sol from putting back the bow in his storage bag.
"It’s fine, I’ll just bear with it."
Truly, one couldn’t stay angry with this kid when he was so genuine in his actions. It was rare for someone like him to even exist in the cultivation world.
Strong and talented to the point of garnering jealousy from others, but naively innocent to the point of it being endearing.
As he walked, Yoon-Jae dodged Sol’s massive bow. He couldn’t distance himself due to the numerous disciples around them.
Meanwhile, Mar-Dule suddenly took out a few dakkochi and handed a majority of them over to Sol and Little Zeel, who was on Sol’s head.
While walking with the other disciples, the three soon reached the city gates. Immediately after they entered the long dark walkway and exited, Sol was confused.
It was still dark.
Sol looked around wondering how it had become night when it was clearly daytime just moments ago.
"Brother Sol, look up."
Listening to Mar-Dule, Sol looked ahead over the disciples’ heads and what he saw caused the half-chewed dakkochi in his mouth to slip out.
