The Growth of a Titan-Chapter 472- Just Breathing Wrongly
Chapter 472: Chapter 472- Just Breathing Wrongly
This shout cut through the disciples’ chattering and echoed in everyone’s ears. Almost all the disciples were taken aback by the shout, but they didn’t hesitate to turn to look at the ship. They wanted to see what would have caused this person to cry out so loudly.
However, the moment the disciples laid eyes on the body of the ship, they were utterly astounded. A cold chill also warmed its way up their spines and caused a numbing sensation to fill their minds.
"Wha-What is that?"
"How did that happen, were we attacked by a beast?"
"No, I didn’t feel anything so how could it have been done by a beast attack?"
As the disciples all voiced their shock and horror, Sol and the others also looked at the ship with solemn expressions.
Across the body of the ship were long ’claw’ marks that covered it entirely. These marks even broke the ship’s defensive arrays, showing just how terrifying these attacks were. But there was an especially large gash on the ship that extended from the tip of the front deck all the way around its left side before disappearing from everyone’s sight.
The ship itself was large so seeing these gashes covering its body made everyone terrified, especially when they thought about the kind of beast that could leave them there.
However, as Sol looked at the gashes on the ship, doubt rose in his heart on whether they were done by a beast. They resembled claw marks, but they didn’t have the jaggedness that would normally be associated with a claw laceration, rather the gashes were smooth. It was to the point that one would think it was done using a sword or a saber.
"No, those weren’t done by a beast."
Ushi said, and everyone in the group looked at him, even some Alchemy Disciples around them looked over as well. However, as he was about to explain what they were, a voice suddenly echoed out over the numerous disciples interrupting him.
"Those marks were caused by the Void Winds in our Land of Shadows, not beasts. They look especially frightening merely due to the speed you were all traveling, otherwise, the marks the Void Winds leave behind would be relatively unnoticeable. But don’t worry, your lives were never in jeopardy as the Academy built this ship while taking them into account."
This voice was effective in calming down the panicking disciples, as they saw that the gashes were slowly healing by themselves. Soon everyone’s gazes turned to the front of the clearing where the voice came from. They saw that it came from an approaching youth who looked to be in his late teens.
Everyone cast curious glances at this youth, especially when they saw Elder Linhu and Elder Dongzhu walking a step behind him. Judging by the youth’s attire he must be from the Land of Shadows, or perhaps more accurately the Miura Clan. But his position must be high if even the Grand Elders of the Martial Alliance Academy had to walk behind him.
As the disciples in the clearing tried to guess who this youth was, Sol and Yoon-jae immediately recognized him to be their third Uncle Master Sato. The brothers Cheong-su and Cheong-san also recognized him as well.
At the same time, Ushi had swiftly taken a step behind Yoon-jae to hide himself. However, he was too late as Sato shot and glanced in this direction, his face even scrunched up into a dark expression for a brief second.
"Damn it, damn it, why is he here? I thought it was Uncle Tenzin who would be the one to welcome us?"
Ushi began cursing his bad luck under his breath.
Yoon-jae turned to look at him and softly asked.
"Didn’t you get permission to join the Academy this year? Don’t tell me you snuck out to join instead?"
Ushi wore a bitter expression as he explained.
"Eldest Brother Yoon-jae it’s not that I snuck out, I indeed got permission to leave this time, but it’s just that this old man is too vicious. Don’t you understand? Just breathing wrongly in front of our Masters would warrant a beating on the spot, and that’s not even mentioning how much harder the training afterward would be. I just don’t want to see him, I’m even contemplating leaving this place now, but I can’t since I have to stay with you."
Yoon-jae’s expression flickered with fear for a brief moment before he nodded at Ushi’s words, completely understanding what he meant.
Sol, who overheard Ushi’s hushed whisper with his projected senses despite the noisy disciples, also reacted the same, having a fearful expression flash across his face. Even worse, he thought back to how similar his second Uncle Master was to his Master, whereupon their first meeting his method of testing him was to break his bones.
Even though Sol had met his third Uncle Master already, that meeting was short. Well, surely this meeting wouldn’t devolve into a direction where he wanted to test him, would it?
Sol’s heart shuddered, and Yoon-jae seemed to have thought of the same thing as he briefly exchanged glances with him.
"Everyone, my name is Sato, a Guest Elder of the Miura Clan. I am here to welcome all of you young dragons and phoenixes to the Land of Shadows."
More buzzing came from the crowd when they heard Sato was a Guest Elder of the Miura Clan.
Sato, with hands behind his back, chuckled and said.
"Despite my looks, I might be old enough to be your Ancestor. But with that said, I won’t keep you here for long. We gathered you here first to gift you these treasures created by the Miura Clan. It will be helpful to you during your stay here."
Sato waved his hand as he said this and created several distortions in space. Soon cracks opened up at the edge of the crowd from this distortion and through the cracks, the disciples could see people inside standing in what looked like pavilion halls. ƒreewebɳovel.com
These people, who looked like servants, then exited the space tears and filed out one by one while carrying trays in their hands. On these trays were metal-looking silver headbands of similar sizes.
These servants who just appeared out of nowhere then began handing them out to the slightly befuddled disciples. They were still processing the appearance of these space tears, and what kind of power one needed to have to create them with merely a wave of a hand.
"All you need to do is use your Soul Energy to leave a Soul Imprint on these Shadowbands. For those disciples in the Mortal Realm that haven’t formed a Soul Core as yet merely dropping a drop of blood onto it will do. Of course, it’s also possible for the youngsters from the Western Lands to use their Mental Power or a drop of blood as well. After binding the treasure, you can visit the city below, all the information you need is inside these Shadowbands. And for those eager for the Two Continents Tournament to begin, rest assured that as soon as everyone who will be participating in the tournament arrives, it will begin. You will also learn all the details about the first stage then as well."
