Chapter 479: Chapter 479- Sol’s Strange Ability Revealed

Mar-Dule continued to flex, putting on a show for the smiling Hua-yin, which in turn made him smile. He was at first worried about Hua-yin being in the open like this for everyone to see her real appearance, but she had told him that if they really got married, she would no longer have to conduct espionage missions for the Emei Sect. Thus, she could reveal her true appearance if she wanted.

Since Hua-yin wasn’t going to take marrying Mar-Dule for a ’no’ from her Sect, she didn’t see why she couldn’t reveal her appearance now.

However, one should note that despite Hua-yin revealing her appearance, none of the disciples here could figure out who she was despite numerous discussions about her.

"Did youngest brother leave?"

Cheong-san suddenly asked, as he looked around and not spotting Byeong-ho anywhere. Hearing this, Dae Han and Cheong-su looked around as well.

"He left not too long ago after receiving a message."

Hua-yin responded.

"I’m more worried about Second Eldest brother, it looks like he’s still depressed about Big Sis Mar-Yue."

At Ushi’s words, everyone turned to look at his mansion’s balcony. There lying on the railing’s edge, a figure could vaguely be seen.

"Yeah, he’s been like that for the past four days."

Woo-seong said worriedly, and Mar-Dule added.

"Our Barbarian Race only has one flying treasure, and it arrived today. It’s mostly carrying kids our age who are participating in the tournament. The one Yue is on isn’t arriving in another ten days, but the Two Continents Tournament is scheduled to start tomorrow. So, he won’t be able to see Yue until the first stage of the Tournament ends, but who knows when that would be? I guess he’s going to be like this until we cheer him up."

Yoon-jae shook his head and said.

"When he gets like this it’s impossible to cheer him up. But don’t worry, the only thing that can get him out of his slump is Martial Arts, and since the Tournament is starting tomorrow after everyone participating has finally arrived today, he’ll recover then."

"Still, should we invite him to play with us?"

Cian asked from the side, and Cheong-san quickly nodded.

"Yeah, we should. It’s kind of sad seeing him like this."

The others also agreed to Cian’s suggestion along with Cheong-san. Yoon-jae in response shrugged his shoulders and decided to go along with it.

Woo-seong was the one to step forward and call out.

"Sol! Can you come down for a bit?!"

After Woo-seong’s call, everyone watched as the figure on the balcony railing got up and started floating toward them.

As Sol’s figure got closer everyone saw his appearance. His curly hair was in disarray with the Shadowband still around his forehead. His shoulders were slumped, and his face was also flushed red, but he was still gulping down the wine contained in the gourd tied to his bracelet.

After Sol landed on the sandy beach in front of everyone, Woo-seong stepped forward and patted his back before asking with a smile.

"Sol, are you up for a game?"

Sol thought for a bit but soon nodded as he closed the gourd and whipped his lips.

"Sol, you can join our team, I’ll sit this one out."

Cheong-san said, and Woo-seong led Sol over to their side as the group of youths all took their positions on either side of the net.

"Here, you can be the one to kickstart the game."

Mar-Dule handed Sol the white ball, and Sol looked at the defensive runes carved on it with curiosity as he asked.

"How is this game played?"

"It’s simple, the one that starts the game tries to get the ball over the net to the opponent’s side. From there the game starts, and each side then tries to get the ball to hit the ground on the opponent’s half while preventing the ball from hitting the ground on their side. There are a few rules like you can’t use your feet to hit the ball or allow the ball or yourself to hit the net. You also can’t hit the ball outside of the playing area around us."

As Ushi explained the game from the other side of the net, Sol looked at the square drawn in the sand.

"So, all we have to do is get this ball to hit the ground on that side? Are we allowed to use Martial Skills?"

Woo-seong to Sol’s left nodded and said excitedly.

"Yeah, we can use our Martial Arts! But the ball has defensive arrays that would break if too much power is used so we have to control our strength. This can also count as training for us."

Sol nodded, understanding the game somewhat. Though he asked again.

"Why not make the playing area bigger? Wouldn’t we have more room to maneuver?"

"That’s also a deliberate restriction so the game doesn’t get out of hand."

Ushi said, and Sol nodded for a third time. Holding the ball, he thought of a way to get it over to the other side of the net to kick-start the game.

"Sol, just do it like how I do it. Throw the ball into the air and then jump up to hit it! It’s called a spike, there’s no better way to do it!"

"Idiot! That’s serving! Spike is something I’m supposed to be doing as the designated attacker for the team!"

Upon hearing Mar-Dule’s words, Dae Han yelled at him before both he and Woo-seong shot him murderous looks.

Mar-Dule snorted.

"What’s the difference? It all looks the same to me."

Dae Han and Woo-seong couldn’t help but ground their teeth, but then they heard...

"Okay."

Sol suddenly said from the back, and before Dae Han and Woo-seong could object, he threw the ball into the air. However, instead of jumping to hit the ball, a golden aura covered Sol’s right hand while at the same time, a golden translucent hand formed in the air as the ball reached its maximum height.

Cian’s eyes focused upon seeing this ability as he remembered when Sol had first shown it to him. The others, however, were taken aback by it.

There were Martial Arts Skills and Spells that could allow one to form hand projections, but as the translucent hand forcefully slapped the ball with a simple gesture from Sol’s right hand, they realized this ability was nothing like those Martial Skills or Spells. Sol’s ability was too fluid.

Yoon-jae was the first one to come to his senses after witnessing Sol’s strange ability, and he moved to intercept the ball. However, another golden hand suddenly materialized next to the ball and smacked it to the side, steering it off course from Yoon-jae’s interception.

With a loud bang, the ball landed next to Yoon-jae and kicked up quite a bit of sand.

After everything had calmed down, Yoon-jae was revealed to be in the same position with his arms outstretched to intercept the ball. He and the rest of his teammates all silently looked at the ball that was now embedded into the sand with weird expressions on their faces.

Even Mar-Dule and the others on the other side of the net— along with the disciples afar— had similar expressions on their faces. They never expected Sol to form another hand and use it like this.

Suddenly, a feeling of foreboding well up in Yoon-jae, Ushi, Cheong-su, and Cian’s hearts.
