The Heiress Spoiled by Four Brothers and One Devilish CEO-Chapter 213 I’ll Extract It
A dark shadow zipped by—Nova Tech took a solid hit from an axe and got flung to the ground, sliding several meters before stopping.
"Nova, you okay?"
The feed on the phone flickered for a second. Nova huddled in a corner. "Left eye’s transmission line took damage. I’m down to the right eye only for now."
"That’s fine. Just be extra careful."
Nova flew forward again. "Fairy girl, this tunnel goes on for about three kilometers. Based on the scan, there’s a space roughly two thousand square meters big at the end, with multiple separate rooms."
The sound of fighting echoed through the passage. Nova zipped through it quickly and entered the space she’d mentioned.
It looked like a lab, maybe even an illegal one.
“Nova, do a life scan. Any living things inside?”
Nova scanned. "Detected seventy-nine live humans, all clustered in the southeast section."
Megan Shaw let out a breath. "Nova, fly higher. I don’t want you getting hit like before."
Nova lifted her altitude and kept moving down the corridor.
Tristan Reid narrowed his eyes. "Nova, turn back. Go into the room on the left."
Nova adjusted and flew in—the door already open.
What they saw inside was disturbing. Massive glass tanks filled with some unknown liquid, and naked human bodies just floating inside. Tubes stuck into their bodies, motionless, like they were dead.
Nova floated in close. "Whoa... what kind of nightmare fuel is this?"
Megan and Tristan studied the scene. "Looks like this is the lab where they did human experimentation," Megan guessed.
Tristan nodded. "That liquid might be a base used to grow the virus."
Suddenly, one of the bodies opened its eyes.
It yanked out the tubes from its body and smashed its fists into the glass.
"Nova, back up—now!"
Nova flew back a few meters just as cracks split across the tank. A final smash, and the whole thing shattered, greenish fluid flooding the floor.
The guy—a huge, hulking figure—didn’t even flinch stepping on the glass shards as sharp crunches echoed from underfoot.
With a roar, he charged straight at Nova, swinging thick arms like wrecking balls.
“Don’t fire yet, let’s gauge its power first,” Tristan warned.
Megan looked tense. She felt like this monster was aiming that punch right at her.
Nova darted under his arm just as he launched a punch her way, slipping into the corner fast. His fist crashed into the wall, leaving a deep hole in the concrete.
Tristan’s expression darkened. "Nova, aim for the head. Use the thermal beam."
This time, Nova didn’t hesitate—a flash of heat shot from her mouth, melting the man’s head into nothing in seconds.
Almost instantly, other tanks throughout the lab exploded—dozens, maybe over a hundred of those things, stepping out, dripping with fluid.
"Nova, go back and bring the Mech-Guards to block them off. Don’t let a single one escape."
"On it, boss!"
Nova flew off the way she came to rally reinforcements.
Staring at the screen filled with zombified figures, Megan Shaw’s scalp tingled. "So this is Nathaniel Cooper’s masterpiece? He was making these in secret... If he ever takes power, it’s game over for all of us."
“From military labs to bug-based mind control to this bioweapon mess—he’s been planning a lot. Feels like he’s not just after one country anymore. He wants the whole world,” Tristan said grimly as he dialed Charles Cooper. "I’ll send you the footage. You can decide what happens next."Megan Shaw sent the recorded footage to Tristan Reid, who then forwarded it to Charles Cooper.
Five minutes later, Charles called back. He instructed them to keep one subject alive for research and to gather evidence of the researchers and experimental data.
The screen was filled with brutal images of slaughter. But this was necessary—those things weren’t human anymore; they were nothing but bio-weapons.
After a bloody fight, Nova Tech led the mech-police unit to continue searching for more subjects.
They eventually reached the lab in the southeast corner.
Nova Tech shouted, "Karl Freeman? Keith Martin?"
Two blurry figures emerged from the shadows. Using her night-vision goggles, Megan recognized them.
She let out a relieved sigh. “Thank God, they’re safe.”
"Nova Tech, have the mech-police escort them out. You stay and gather intel."
“Roger that.”
Karl came over, waving his hand. A mercenary behind him dragged in a man in a lab coat.
With a crooked grin on his face, Karl spoke, “Found our evidence. We’re good to go.”
Cameron Brooks leaned closer. “Wait, seriously? This guy didn’t get taken out by the parasites?”
Karl smirked. “I’ve got my ways. He’s alive, for now.”
Keith held up a stack of documents and waved them at the camera. “See this, piggy? That’s what we came for!”
Suddenly, the lab coat guy started to twitch. He muttered, “You think you can run? The toxin will spread... you’re all dead...”
Before anyone reacted, he lunged forward and bit the mercenary’s arm.
Tristan shouted, “Karl, get out of there! Anyone bitten turns into a zombie! Cover your mouth and nose, get the mech-police to carry you out!”
Nova Tech responded fast—one shot melted both the scientist and the merc.
The tall mech-police bots grabbed Karl and Keith and dashed for the exit.
Others scooped up the remaining mercs and followed closely.
But the toxin was already in the air. Even with the bots’ speed, some gas had probably been inhaled.
Karl started coughing hard, the parasite inside him clearly unsettled.
From the screen, Megan noticed light flooding the tunnel. She looked up. “They made it out!”
Tristan and Cameron ran forward.
They saw Karl and Keith pale and unsteady. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Tristan ordered, “Get them on our chopper. Seal the tunnel, no one goes back in.”
Everyone else boarded the military helicopters, placed under strict quarantine. No immediate execution unless absolutely necessary.
Without a word, Tristan scooped Megan up and ran toward the helicopters.
In the back seats, Karl and Keith were laid down, Cameron sitting next to them.
Megan fired up the chopper and lifted off.
Karl clutched his chest and suddenly coughed up blood.
Tristan frowned. “Shouldn’t the transformation be fast? Why’s it hitting you now?”
“The parasite’s holding it off,” Karl managed, then turned to Keith. “He’s spiraling.”
“Cameron, tie him up now. Lock him down.”
Cameron swiftly pulled out chains from the toolbox and strapped Keith to the seat, giving him a sedative.
Keith was panting, eyes red, as he forced out the words, “Kill me!”
Karl was drenched in sweat, wiping the blood from his lips. He still managed a grin. “I’ll extract it.”
Keith, eyes filled with rage and clarity, roared, “You’ll die if you do!”
