Chapter 154: Wedding night (2)

"Tobias, I will not give you the pleasure of making me pry your eyes open to look at me. If you do not open them in the next three seconds, I will go to bed," said Hazel.

Tobias grinned as he followed Hazel’s commands and opened his eyes. "I must do as my wife says."

Tobias soaked in the sight before him. The people in the palace rarely got something right, but they did well tonight. Mostly her chest was exposed because of the thin material while the other half of her body was a bit covered.

Should he want to see more he would need to undress her.

"Why isn’t there some tradition for you to dress a certain way for me?" Hazel asked, taking a seat beside Tobias. She would love to see him be scantily clad before her.

"If you want, I can get undressed for you now. I am not shy, something I thought you would be before me. You look beautiful and I am not saying it because you aroused me. From the wedding to this, you have been beautiful all day," said Tobias. "The portraits weren’t done well enough to capture your beauty."

"You are more of a sweet talker today. Is it the wine?" Hazel wondered, taking another sip. It was good. Sweet for her to enjoy but she felt that too much of it might have her a bit out of her mind.

Tobias continued to lie down, watching as Hazel drank away her glass of wine. He took small sips of his and then settled the glass on the floor. One bottle wouldn’t get him drunk, but considering he had other drinks throughout the day, he didn’t want to take the risk.

"More?" Tobias asked.

Hazel licked her lips, savouring the last of the wine. She shyly pointed her glass to Tobias. Hazel had only drank water and a bit of juice all day and days before the wedding, what she could eat or drink had changed.

Hazel had forgotten just how good it was to have a wine like this, around someone who wouldn’t judge her.

Tobias offered his glass of wine to Hazel. "No more than this."

"Why not? My father had allowed me to sneak and drink more than this behind my mother’s back."

"Again, I am reminded of how close you are to your mother. Careful," Tobias said, reaching out to stop her from drowning the glass. "Are you certain you are not nervous?" He asked the question which once annoyed him.

"I wouldn’t have been so daring to sit beside you if I was nervous. I just want to enjoy a bit of wine on my wedding day as all the guests got to. I wanted to eat more of the food, but there was always someone watching me. It was then I felt nervous and afraid I would stain the wedding dress," said Hazel.

"You should have eaten as much as you wanted. Did you not see how many of them were eating like pigs after one or two drinks? Do you want me to get you some food now?" Tobias questioned, willing to get whatever she needed.

Hazel slowly shook her head. "I would like for you to touch me even if it isn’t all the way. I have been looking forward to us being alone. I don’t mind if you don’t want to go all the way because it is what everyone expects, but don’t put space between us and please join me in bed."

Hearing this, Tobias covered his face.

"Are you blushing?" Hazel questioned, trying to move his hand from his face. "It couldn’t be that the flirt Tobias Castro is blushing over my simple request. You mustn’t hide your face now. Wait," she said, stopping to put the empty glass on the floor.

"I am not blushing," Tobias replied, but he kept his face covered so Hazel would continue to try moving his hand.

Hazel made another daring move by straddling Tobias, an action that made him move his hands from his face so he could trap her.

Tobias looked up at Hazel, pleasantly surprised by her actions. "What has gotten in the prude Hazel?"

"If you are going to call me a prude again, I shall bring up my old insults for you. I am with my husband now and since I came into the palace for the selection, I have been comfortable around you. It is your fault that I am a bit eager tonight," Hazel said, leaning forward to trap his hands.

"What did I do?" Tobias innocently asked.

Hazel glared at him for pretending to not remember all the things he told her. "It is time you get rid of your shirt," she said, loosening her hold on him so he would be the one to do it.

Tobias once again followed what Hazel wanted and opened two buttons of his shirt, then sat up to pull it over his head. "What else would my wife like for me to do? Take off my pants?"

Hazel was stumped as Tobias being so close to her face took away her confidence. What did she want for him to do next?

Tobias smiled, knowing it was his turn to take the lead. Tobias took her hand and placed it on his chest. "You might not believe it, but right now I am quite nervous. Experience doesn’t matter because it is you sitting before me. I won’t hurt you," he promised.

Tobias would do what he could to make the pain of her first time go by fast if they were to go all the way.

"We don’t have to do the full deed tonight. I came in here prepared not to. We can start getting to know more about each other’s bodies tonight and go further another day when it feels right. Do you trust me?" He asked in a whisper.

"I do," Hazel answered.

Hazel trusted that of all people from the palace, Tobias would not harm her.

Tobias cupped Hazel’s cheek, basking in her warmth before moving to push her hair behind her ear. His hand travelled down from her ear to her shoulder to stop at the thin strap of the nightdress.

Tobias didn’t attempt to kiss her to distract her from the fact he was going to remove what hid her body from him. He kept watching her for any signs of fear so that he would stop.

Hazel felt like her heart was suddenly beating more than it should as Tobias hooked his finger under the strap and started to pull it down to expose her chest to him. It was new to her so it was a bit weird to be this way before Tobias when it was always her maids, but Hazel was ready.
