The last Vampire with the Hero summoner system: I get 5x their powers-Chapter 66: Resolution
It was insane.
My entire body radiated the sort of energy a shonen protagonist did after his entire squad got wiped out.
All of my skills like [Eye of Sanguine], [Blood of Vitality], [Many Faces] exploded with power. I could suddenly see distances much farther than before and in much more detail. The efficiency of every skill had increased by ten.
[+30 all stats]
So this was why I felt like I could suddenly shatter the world with my bare hands.
[Strength: 45/45]
[Stealth: 37/37]
[Vitality: 110/110]
[Agility: 40/40]
[Dexterity: 40/40]
[Intelligence: 50/50]
[Arcane: XXX]
[Charisma: 51/51]
This was beyond C class. I was much stronger than someone like Shen, I felt like. I could basically become invisible to normal eyes with this level of stealth and agility.
The strength increase made me feel like I could shatter small mountains with a punch.
On the other hand, dexterity and intelligence at that level meant I could master something like a sword or martial arts to a crazy level very fast. Maybe I could ask Subaru to teach me?
Did charisma make me sexier? I glanced at Alya. She was more surprised by my strength increase than my beauty.
The vitality increase was a bit unnoticeable as it was already pretty high, but now I was a little more unkillable.
Alya and I were kind of equals, at least in power level, it seemed. Though she definitely was a much more skilled fighter and could surely kick my ass.
[New skills unlocked]
[You can make a choice on what pathway you would prefer! Know that it will have massive consequences on the skills you will awaken in the future.]
[1. Deflect: Allows the user to deflect all attacks, be it melee, projectile, or cosmic. The amount of damage negation depends on how close they deflect the attack (by activating the skill). Perfect timing to the millisecond is required to completely negate damage.]
[Bonus: If the user manages to counterattack the attacker, all damage deflected will transfer back to the attacker combined with the user’s attack.]
[2. Invincible Defense: This skill allows the user to produce a forty-meter-wide shield that grows sturdier the more damage it consumes and is completely unshakable for five seconds. Cooldown is one hour.]
[3. Last Stand: When Vitality has dropped below ten percent of the total, passive healing will be boosted by five times for ten minutes. The user will grow much more sluggish after the ten minutes.]
All three skills had one thing in common. They were defensive in nature. They were all quite overpowered, but the way they went about it was completely different.
The first was precision- and skill-based but offered the best deal. Though it would require a lot of time to reach the degree where it was better than the other two, so I didn’t make the choice immediately.
The second was perfect to counter enemy trump cards and could save the day in sure-death moments, but it clearly required one to be calm, keep a sharp eye on cooldowns.
Like, most of the fight would need to go by without even touching it. You can’t just panic-use it the first second someone attacks.
Finally, [Last Stand]. It was truly the most appealing option, as it could win a losing fight. And it matched with my Bloodright Resonance. I could share the effect with Alya and suddenly, we both were virtually unkillable for ten whole minutes.
The first and second were cool and all, but I already had [Undo of Shift], which had already leveled up to have a cooldown of eight hours.
Soon, when it reached Sue’s level, it would be a better version of both and wouldn’t require as much effort like them.
But eh, those two could probably level up too if they were active skills and maybe reach a level where Deflect could deflect back a hundred times the damage.
The system was really cruel to fix my entire pathway to one side of a skill set at this choice. I didn’t only want self-healing skills after all. They sounded much more boring compared to [Deflect].
Alas, this was my and the people I care about’s lives, not a game. Being alive was more important than having fun, so I made my choice.
[Meeting Alyndra actually matured you, host. I am so proud of you!]
Fuck off.
...
Zhenny and Kobi set small candles all around the pitch-black hallway, brightening it to reveal the ruins of a once Gothically aesthetic hallway.
The able slaves carried the ones who couldn’t move on their backs, and we began marching behind Suge while I still checked every gain and learned more about the new skills I got from Alyndra.
As we walked further, I covered Sasha’s eyes with a sigh. The dead slaves were left to rot at the spot they had died, along with the corpses of hundreds of knights and the minced meat of titans, all of it letting out a horrible, gut-wrenching stench.
Something so gruesome shouldn’t be something a teenager should see, but I doubted there was a point to it now as she had already witnessed everything.
On the other hand, I was also looking for an intact titan corpse to extract its heart and eat it. It was sort of experimental, if I could do what monsters do, and I didn’t want to miss an opportunity to get more XP and abilities.
But who was I kidding? Both Subaru and Kael either burned their victims to nothingness or cut them to nothingness.
"Lucien, I assume we can talk later about what you offered?" Subaru’s urgency-filled voice startled me.
"Of course. I will explain everything, just trust me," I said with a smile. He could only nod with clenched fists.
I seriously think he wanted to know everything now and also beat the shit out of me. Well, couldn’t really blame him.
If I was a happy billionaire with a harem, I’d be mad too if a guy suddenly brought me to a dangerous place without any of my money.
After we had traveled quite far, I let go of Sasha, who was still as dull as the night, ready to burst into tears at the slightest push. I had zero knowledge about comforting children, so patting her head was the most I could do.
Rubbing my temples, I turned on [Eyes of Sanguine]. My senses exploded, vivid images from kilometers away right in front of my eyes as if I were standing there.
I was originally searching for Alphas, but a thought struck me. I could probably locate Vanitas or... his dead body with this. It would provide some closure, if nothing else.
Knights, guards in Mari Swan uniforms, brigades that were red in color and looked metallic, made of some sort of magical stone. Every civilian was already evacuated.
I scanned every inch, slowly lowering my gaze to the basement. Dead bodies of slaves, guards, and knights, and even more knights.
The number crossed over five hundred, and they were cautiously marching forward in our direction, led by three possibly captain-level powerhouses. This was enough force to make us seem like crawling babies.
A chill ran through my spine as I moved past them. After a few more seconds, I located the Alphas. There should be ten... My face dulled as I counted them again. One, two, three... six...?
They were all in even worse shape than us, who had faced an Overload. But it made sense. They were fighting captains who outnumbered them and were supported by knights and guards. It was a depressing sight.
From their expressions, their faces were filled with regret. After all, they had no interest in slaves, Ren, or me. They had been here because of Pazuzu’s existence.
I looked away from the depressing sight. There was nothing much I could change for them. They had made their choice after all.
The next thing I saw shook me to the bottom of my heart, my eyes widening to the limit.
Maybe it was because of the familiar scholarly look of Jah I saw, or because of Vanitas’s nostalgic, skinny, tall frame, or a beautiful kind of short girl with very long, pointy ears smiling with a cold glint in her eyes.
Vanitas was alive! A huge weight was lifted off my chest. I really thought I had left him behind to die. But what the fuck is happening?
The hot elf, most likely Luci Desen, was standing against Jah, who was dressed in the same black trench coat over a white linen shirt.
The elf wore just a rag that was very revealing of most of her cleavage and pale white skin. It barely covered her vagina, revealing the entirety of the V-shaped line surrounding it.
But fanservice aside, the situation looked very serious. Vanitas himself was standing by Luci’s side, and from the surroundings of their environment, corpses of knights, ruined walls, and floors, it was clear a fight had occurred.
I zoomed in on Luci, trying to observe her lips to see what they were saying. My pupils dilated as her lips simply stopped moving and she turned toward me.
Her lips moved in slow motion. I could read them clearly.
"Found you."
