Chapter 267: Chapter 22: Hilde Chamber of Commerce (2)

"Young Master Jones, what a coincidence. I didn’t expect to meet you here," Adolf said, walking over with a smile.

"Yeah, what a coincidence," Jones said, the corners of his mouth twitching slightly. "Did you use Adelle’s badge to get in too?"

"Adelle’s badge?" Adolf smiled and replied, "No, I’m actually a member here myself."

Well, of course. Turns out everyone here is loaded. It seemed like the whole world was a member except for him. Oh wait—his dad wasn’t one either.

Jones took a deep breath in resignation.

"Although, I just joined as a new member," Adolf spread his hands and continued, "Actually, I didn’t come here for anything urgent. I was just bored, so I came to have a look around and make some friends."

"You came here just to make friends?" Jones was momentarily stunned.

"Yes." Adolf turned slightly to glance at the direction of the table he was previously sitting at.

A fat vampire with a little mustache sitting by the table raised a teacup, nodded in Adolf’s direction from afar, then also nodded at Jones.

Jones gave him a nod in return, purely out of politeness.

The vampire was the sort of fat where even his hands resembled pig trotters and his whole body was covered in layers of fat. So fat that his neck had disappeared. Sitting on the sofa, he looked like a sphere. Jones seriously wondered if the sofa didn’t have armrests, would the vampire roll onto the floor from losing his balance?

Honestly, Jones had never seen such a fat vampire before. He always thought it was only humans who could end up looking like that, while vampires all maintained slender figures. After all, drinking blood until you got to this state was no easy feat.

Plus, with a body like that, could he even turn into a bat and fly?

"Who is he?" Jones asked softly.

"He’s Adelle’s cousin. I happened to run into him here today, so we started chatting."

"Just chatting?"

"Yes."

"Oh." Jones shifted his gaze and continued sitting quietly, waiting, with his gold mine on his mind.

Adolf felt slightly awkward. "Aren’t you going to ask me to sit down?"

"You want to sit?"

"If it’s not inconvenient—"

"Oh no, it’s fine. Please, have a seat." Only then did Jones gesture a "please" with his hand.

Adolf furrowed his brow slightly but still went ahead and sat down.

The entire lounge was quiet. That fat vampire was sipping tea alone while flipping through a notebook, though it was unclear whether it was a book or some kind of ledger. From a distance, people sitting at another table were chit-chatting softly, with occasional bursts of laughter. It seemed like idle chatter, not business talks.

Well, even though this place was supposedly for business negotiations, it looked like Jones was the only one genuinely here to conduct business.

Jones said nothing. Adolf didn’t know what to say either, so he just turned and beckoned to a waiter in the distance.

The waiter quickly approached. "Sir, how can I assist you?"

"Tea."

"Understood. The same as what was served earlier over there?"

"Yes, Blood Rose." As he spoke, Adolf turned and looked at Jones. "What about you, Young Master Jones?"

"Huh?" Jones, immersed in his thoughts, was startled.

"I’m asking what tea you’d like to have?"

"What tea? I’m not much of a tea drinker. Whatever, I guess."

Turning back, Adolf instructed the waiter, "The same as mine."

"Alright, please wait a moment." With that, the waiter walked away.

Jones frowned as he looked at Adolf, apparently not quite recovered from his own thoughts.

"Young Master Jones seems to be troubled by something. Would you like to tell me about it?"

"No, it’s nothing." Jones lightly shook his head.

Well, still no conversation. Adolf was beginning to feel a headache coming on.

Just as they waited in silence for what felt like forever, finally, someone pushed the door open and walked in. It was a female Blood Clan member.

She wore her jet-black hair tied high, her face was delicate, her eyes a deep blood-red, and she was dressed in a red-and-black short dress. She had on a pair of red high heels and was carrying a thick notebook, an inkwell, and a feather quill.

After scanning the lounge, her gaze finally landed on Jones.

Noticing that Jones was also looking at her, she walked straight toward him. Stopping before him, she gave a respectful bow. "Hello, may I ask if you are Young Master Jones?"

Her voice was fresh and pleasant to the ear.

"Yes, that’s me."

"I’m Patia, a business consultant from the Sambo family. It’s a pleasure to meet you." She glanced briefly at Adolf and asked softly, "May I sit down?"

"Of course." With that, Adolf snapped his fingers and gestured toward the waiter in the distance, signaling him to bring an extra set of teaware for Patia.

The waiter nodded from afar.

Patia sat across from Jones, placed the inkwell down, picked up the feather quill, and opened her thick notebook. Her movements were respectful yet efficient.

"Young Master Jones, how may I assist you?"

"I want to sell ore—gold mine ore. I have a gold mine. Do you understand what I mean?"

"Hmm... I see. You have a gold mine and have mined some ore. You’re looking for a market to sell it, correct?"

"Yes. But I’ve never sold it before, so I need a consultant."

"That’s simple. I believe I can offer you some excellent advice." Lowering her head, Patia spoke while taking notes. "What aspect would you like to know about?"

"Price," Jones answered without hesitation.

"As for the price," Patia began, "gold mine ore is different from other ores. Each batch requires individual pricing."
