Chapter 215: The trial of soul 3

The words of the orb left Bai Lung stunned, his mind racing with unknown thoughts trying to make sense.

He struggled to process the knowledge that he had to confront his own soul and absorb its energy in order to pass the trial.

“This can’t be true,” He muttered under his breath, feeling a mixture of fear and frustration washing over him.

The orb’s explanation was more complex than he had expected.

He glanced around the room again, searching for any source of energy, but the room was still completely devoid of any light or visible energy.

It was as though his own soul was completely devoid of any power, which seemed impossible given his own strength and accomplishments.

But then again, it all started from the gift of the system.

“This can’t be possible,” he repeated, his voice taking on a pleading tone.

“I’m stronger than this, I should have at least some energy to absorb!” Bai Lung refused to believe he was nothing more than an empty box.

Suddenly, he felt a strange pull, as if his very soul was being drawn deeper into the room.

The orb, seemingly sensing his turmoil, spoke up once again.

“The task is simple,” it uttered again with its voice calm and measured.

“You must absorb the energy within your soul to pass the trial. The room is merely a reflection of your being, and the energy it holds is a representation of your inner strength and weaknesses,”

Bai Lung looked around the room, his eyes darting nervously from one corner to another.

The room was still completely dark, and he couldn’t see any sign of energy. “But… how do I do it?” he asked, his voice betraying his uncertain feeling he couldn’t even pass the first trial.

He was doubting everything at the moment.

“Close your vision,” the orb instructed, its voice taking on a more authoritative tone rather than calm.

“Focus on your senses. Feel the flow of your own. Allow yourself to be aware of everything that makes you who you are before you are a human flesh… Feel the source, feel the origin of your existence, feel your spirit root… Take the path where it takes you,”

The orb’s words caught Bai Lung by surprise.

In his soul form, he had no physical eyes to close, he was using his spiritual vision to see, which can’t be closed.

yet the instructions seemed to imply that he should… Maybe one can? Bai Lung doesn’t know.

He attempted to close his eyes, thinking of nothing but darkness but realized that it was impossible in this form.

“How am I supposed to close my eyes when I don’t have any?” he asked, feeling a pang of frustration.

” Hm…. ” The orb chuckled, its light flickering with amusement.

“That’s right,” it said.

“You don’t have physical eyes but spiritual eyes, if so, why do you think spiritual eyes close the same as physical eyes? Use some common sense!”

Bai Lung: “…”

“Wait… Spiritual eyes work on my spiritual energy, if so, then blocking my Qi flow may work,” Bai Lung said and the next moment.

He stopped channeling Qi into his soul, and as expected, his vision darkened, he was just a soul, floating in nothing.

But he could feel the sense of familiarity.

Darkness!!!

The next moment a glowing darkness surrounds his soul.

Following that, double shadows appeared below him which seemed to be alive.

He finds himself once again in his sea of consciousness, in front of a giant shadow figure.

We meet again, Bai Lung.

The shadow figure’s voice rang at the back of his head.

” You… Who are you? ” Bai Lung once again asked the same question.

I guess it’s time to tell you… I am Shadow, one of the ‘Origin trinity’ primordials.

“Origin Trinity Primordials?”

Yes! The Origin Trinity primordials; Dark, Light, shadow.

“Then…” Bai Lung couldn’t form a word to utter.

I know what you want to say, you are trying to say, why I am here, in your sea of consciousness… But, who said it is yours? You are in my sea of consciousness, you are merely a vessel that holds my roots.

“I am a vessel that holds your roots? But, these roots were given to me by the system,” Bai Lung hurriedly spoke.

And you believed her?

“Her? You mean system?… Well, yeah, I believed her,” Bai Lung said feeling confused.

I see, quite disappointing for someone to be born from my origin.

Bai Lung: “…”

“You mean to say I am born from your origin?” Bai Lung asked dumbfounded.

You weren’t born, you were created from my origin, and you have floated through the void for countless years before being ‘born’ — you merely take over the body of a newborn nothing else in earth.

Bai Lung felt a chill run down his soul as the Shadow’s words sank in.

“Created? I was created from your origin?” he repeated, trying to process the information.

Hahaha!

The Shadow chuckled again, its laugh echoing through the void.

Yes, you were created from my very particle. I am your true origin.

The system merely gave you the tools to harness your power not to mention, the system isn’t even your ally

the Shadow explained.

Bai Lung felt his thoughts reel with the revelation.

“But… why?” he asked, struggling to comprehend the implications.

Why does a tree grow? Why does the wind blow? It is simply the natural order of things.

Your existence is a mere manifestation of my origin, not just you but everything, you can see, you can hear or you can imagine comes from the Origin Trinity Primordials.

“…”

” I see… ” Bai Lung nodded his head while thinking it may be true.

“Do you know Tao-Yi and Se?” Bai Lung couldn’t help but ask hurriedly.

Yes! Tao-Yi is vital in everything. Soul, consciousness, everything is made out of Tao-Yi, the fundamental of ‘absolute law’ as for Se it is a cheap version of Tao-yi.
