The Mafia's Undoing-Chapter 204: Fighting Back
I watched the breaking news live with Tony beside me, seeing Beverly on screen, and as she played the victim act perfectly.
The Evidence was displayed prominently on the screen.
It showed screenshots of texts that read, Meet me tonight. I need to see you. All of these were sent from Tony’s number.
The email evidence was also displayed on screen. You’re incredible, and I can’t stop thinking about you. All these were from Tony’s email address as well.
The voicemail audio was also played. Katherine doesn’t understand me as you do, and the audio sounded exactly like Tony’s voice.
"This man pursued me relentlessly despite being married and my repeated resistance. This is harassment, everyone, and men like these shouldn’t go scot-free." She continued with her speech.
"I never sent those, nor did I ever say that! Never even THOUGHT about that at all, and why would I?" Tony screamed out loud.
He looked at me desperately. "Katherine, please. You have to believe me. This is completely FAKE."
I studied his face carefully. His eyes, voice, and body language... were they truth or lies?
He continued, "I have no idea what that woman is talking about. I never pursued her, nor did I have any romantic interest in her. You have to believe me." He pleaded.
My woman’s intuition came through, our years together, love, trust, and the deep knowledge of this man.
"I believe you," I whispered.
"What?"
"I believe you. Those are fake and fabricated. I know you didn’t send them." I said.
Tony cried from relief flooding through, and his gratitude was overwhelming. "Thank you. Thank you for trusting me." He said, hugging me tight.
"I’m choosing to trust you against the apparent evidence and logic. I am choosing love over doubt."
"But everyone else-"
"Everyone else doesn’t matter. This is about us and our marriage, that’s all that matters now... our family and the truth."
"But my reputation-" He continued.
"We’ll rebuild it together and prove she lied. We will expose her manipulation and fight back hard." I said with so much conviction.
"How?"
"By being smarter and stronger as always. Loving each other and trusting that love completely is the best approach."
I called Luca immediately. "I need you. Tony needs you. We need to prove that these are fabricated."
"I’m already on it. I saw the press conference and started investigating immediately."
"Can you prove that all the documents were forged?"
"Give me 48 hours, and I’ll find the truth. I’d need digital forensics, metadata analysis, and voice analysis. Everything."
"Whatever it takes and whatever it costs. Please, help prove my husband’s innocence."
Social media exploded with tweets. #TonyMarvinAffair was trending nationwide, the judgment seemingly everywhere.
Typical rich man. Cheating on your wife. Harassing women. Absolutely disgusting."
Katherine should leave him. He doesn’t deserve her.
Some of the clients called and withdrew their investments. We can’t be associated with this scandal. They said as a reason.
Some of the board members resigned. Reputation damage too severe.
Our empire was crumbling again... all because of lies and fabrications.
Bella, Susan, and Elliot stood firm with us. "We believe you both, and we’d fight with you."
"Thank you. We need everyone now. This is war. It’s not physical, but it’s war nonetheless."
James offered legal help. "We should sue for defamation, slander, harassment, and everything possible."
Jesse offered his PR expertise. "We do a reputation rebuild to control the narrative and tell the truth."
Our family was united and ready for battle.
48 hours later, Luca returned with evidence that proved the scandal.
"The texts sent were from a spoofed number, which is not from Tony’s actual phone. The IP address was traced directly to Beverly’s home address.
The emails had forged headers and were sent from a compromised account, which was hacked. It was not Tony’s actual email server."
And the voicemails were all AI-generated using voice synthesis technology. Tony’s voice was sampled and digitally recreated. We have evidence proving it’s completely fake."
He continued. "Beverly Stone orchestrated the entire thing, hired a professional tech team to create evidence, and fabricated harassment claims."
"Can you prove it definitively?" I asked.
"I already have. I already have the complete digital forensic report with an expert testimony lined up. We have everything needed for court."
We later had a private meeting in a neutral location with our lawyers present on both sides.
Beverly appeared confident and smug. "What do you want? My press conference was the truth."
Luca presented the evidence, including forensic reports, IP traces, and voice analysis.
Beverly’s confidence was cracking visibly. "That doesn’t prove-"
"It proves EVERYTHING. You fabricated evidence, lied publicly, and slandered Tony. We’re suing - criminally and civilly." Our Lawyer, Larry Higgins, said.
"You can’t prove intent-"
"Oh, we can and we will. You’re finished."
Her desperation showed, and her mask dropped completely. "Fine! Yes! I did it, but you don’t understand!" She fumbled.
"What don’t we understand?" I asked warily.
"My father’s business was failing, and we needed Tony’s investment desperately!"
"So you tried seducing him?" I countered.
"I tried, but he rejected all my subtle attempts! He chose YOU, so I tried to destroy him instead! If I can’t have him, then no one benefits!"
"You ruined an innocent man because he wouldn’t cheat on his wife?" I was astonished by what she had just revealed.
"He’s not innocent! He’s the son of a criminal... a Mafia kingpin, he deserves this!"
"No. You deserve what’s coming. The legal consequences, public exposure, and justice for what you committed."
The next day, we held a press conference with Tony and me in a united front.
We presented the evidence, including forensic reports and expert testimony - the proof of the fabrication.
"Beverly Stone lied, fabricated evidence, and attempted to destroy our marriage because a business partnership ended."
"We have the proof - digital forensics, voice analysis, and IP traces that prove deliberate manipulation."
The media and public were shocked as the narrative flipped completely.
Beverly Stone was now the liar, manipulator, and criminal.
Tony Marvin was now the innocent victim, a faithful husband who chose his wife over business.
The lawsuits were filed for criminal charges and civil damages.
Beverly Stone was arrested and charged with fraud, forgery, defamation, and criminal harassment.
Her father’s business was investigated, revealing exposure to money laundering, tax evasion, and an old alliance with Thomas Marvin, uncovering decades of crimes.
Harold Stone was implicated. Criminal charges were filed, and his business assets were seized.
Beverly faced prison time. Her reputation destroyed, career ended, and life ruined.
Through fire, pain, and lies, our marriage survived.
It not only survived but thrived, and our strength deepened.
"We faced the other woman. Her manipulation, lies, public humiliation, and we won." I said thereafter.
"Because we chose each other. Trusted love and fought together." Tony agreed.
That night at home when the kids were asleep, we made love passionately to celebrate our victory and rediscover each other.
It was joyful and free from any burden.
"You chose me over your empire and business," I said afterwards as I ran my hands over the tiny hairs on his chest.
"You know it will always be you. You’re my empire, my business, and my power. Everything that matters to me."
After multiple passionate rounds and exhausting ourselves, we finally decided to rest.
"Never again. No more distance and no more late nights. You don’t get to choose wrong again." I teased him.
"Of course, it’s family first always. Everything else comes second."
A few months later, we had to rebuild our lives, which was now better than before.
Marvin Ventures recovered impressively, which was surprising, and our clients were returning gradually as our reputation was now restored.
But Tony was different. He’d genuinely changed and learned.
He came home for dinner and was present every single night. Present and engaged as a father and husband.
There was no more empire-building obsession and the power pursuits. It was just about family and love.
"Beverly almost won. She almost destroyed us and succeeded, but she underestimated something fundamental: our love for each other. Our commitment and our choice." I told Tony.
"Indeed, it was. We chose each other through everything. The lies, doubt, and pain." He held my hands and continued. "Thank you for choosing to trust me despite everything."
"And that choice saved us. That choice always will."
We had a family dinner and invited everyone. They all were present - Bella, James, Susan, Jesse, Elliot, Jeff, and Luca.
Rose, Hector, and Thomas were growing so fast. I’m glad they now feel happy, loved, and safe.
Tony and I still held strong together and seemed unbreakable.
"To family, love, and to choosing right," Elliot said, raising the toast for us. "To fight for what matters."
"To marriage and to pure commitment in surviving the other woman. This is to victory." I added as we clinked glasses, laughed, and celebrated living.
This was our real peace, which was hard-earned.
For now, probably...
