The Martial Artist Turned Movie Mogul-Chapter 1008 - 1007. Jing Family
At Starshine Media, Shen Yan and Xiao Li, along with two new members from the IT department, spent almost all their working hours dealing with an endless stream of promotional articles, as well as Tang Shu’s overwhelming fan attention that couldn’t seem to be contained.

Palm Pavilion, Jing Family.
Jing Yu parked the car in the garage and pulled out two bags filled with vegetables and fruits from the trunk.
"Let’s go. Aunt Lin is probably waiting."
Tang Shu took several gift boxes from the back seat and followed him inside.
"You even brought gifts? When did you buy these?"
"Not bought. I made them myself... Umm, pills."
Jing Yu’s dark eyes sparkled with amusement as he looked at her. "Did you make some for me too?"
Tang Shu was surprised. "What would you want those for? You’re perfectly healthy, no illnesses or anything."
"Hmm—looks like the family won’t ever have to worry about sickness anymore. With you, there’s no need for a hospital."
"Mr. Jing, I think you’ve misunderstood me. I’m clearly much better at poisoning people, so you’d better be careful with your words in the future."
After joking around for a while, Tang Shu felt completely at ease. Even when she saw Xie Wuxia later, she didn’t experience that stereotypical nervousness people describe when meeting the parents.
Oh well, it’s not as scary as the rumors said...
Xie Wuxia was visibly happy to see her, almost to the point of wanting to embrace Tang Shu. She pulled her to sit on the sofa and chat, completely ignoring her own son from the moment he entered the house.
"Xiao Shu, the movie you starred in was absolutely amazing! Oh my, I cried so much in the cinema back then!"
"That was just a story, Aunt Xia."
"Exactly! That Yunqing was so hateful—how could he just kill off the character like that? I spent an entire evening cursing him after watching it!"
"..."
No need to take it so far.
Tang Shu listened, wide-eyed and stunned, as Xie Wuxia went on and on, ranting against Xie Yunqing. She suddenly felt an overwhelming sympathy for Director Xie; he was probably having a rough time lately...
No wonder he’s been so active in the crew’s group chat recently—it must be his way of venting after taking hits from his aunt.
Uncle Jing, as always, remained quiet and reserved. The lively atmosphere at the dining table was entirely left to the ever-charming Xie Wuxia, while the couple remained tactful and avoided saying anything embarrassing about the relationship between the two younger people.
This made Tang Shu feel very relaxed.
At seven in the evening, the Jing family, along with Aunt Lin, ate some fruit. Xie Wuxia then clapped her hands and grabbed Father Jing on her way out.
"We’re going for a stroll. You two go ahead and date if you want, or watch TV—whatever. Don’t mind us."
With those parting words, the two figures disappeared from the Jing family’s living room in a flash, so fast it left Tang Shu dumbstruck.
Jing Yu, wearing an off-white knit sweater, was leaning on the sofa, chuckling at her dazed expression. "So... Miss Tang, would you mind checking out my room with me?"
"What? Your room?"
"Mm, in my room, there’s a complete home theater system installed by my mother back in the day."
Jing Yu stood up, his casual attire still accentuating his long legs. He offered a hand to Tang Shu.
"Come on, let me show you."
Tang Shu placed her hand in his and stood up with his help, curiosity leading her towards the upstairs bedroom. In just two minutes, she saw the so-called complete home theater equipment.
"What do you want to watch?"
"What do you have here... are these... discs?"
With technology advancing rapidly, Tang Shu had grown accustomed to finding every video online after arriving in this world. Seeing something so outdated honestly caught her off guard.
"Yeah, these are all old movies."
Jing Yu slid open a wooden door, revealing an entire wall filled with DVDs. They were stacked neatly from top to bottom, at least a dozen shelves tall—probably holding thousands of titles.
Tang Shu was truly awestruck by this collection. What surprised her even more was that some of the movies couldn’t even be found online.
"’The Parent Trap.’ I want to watch this one."
This was an older film that had been mentioned in a theater club she joined ages ago. She never had the chance to watch it, but, unexpectedly, Jing Yu owned the original DVD here.
Jing Yu played the DVD, projecting the film onto an expansive wall. The high-definition visuals made Tang Shu feel like she was sitting in a modern cinema, with stunning sound quality to match.
"Wow—"
How could this company president outdo her, an actress, by having something so professional?
That’s just not logical.
Tang Shu didn’t have time to dwell on her small pangs of envy; the movie quickly began, showing twin sisters separated at a young age due to their parents’ divorce.
The plot wasn’t overly complex—it was a comedy.
But the reason Tang Shu chose this movie was because she and the Tang Shu from this world shared the exact same appearance. The medicinal herb records passed down in Tang Village and that familiar jade pendant seemed to hint at something crucial she hadn’t considered before.
Although she didn’t think the Tang Shu from two worlds could be twins, there had to be some significant connection.
The movie ended quickly with a happy reunion—the twins bringing their parents back together to rebuild their family. The room lit up again as the film finished.
While leaving, Tang Shu glanced at the home theater equipment, feeling a small surge of jealousy.
Jing Yu chuckled, "You’re looking at me like I’ve committed the worst of crimes."
"You’re self-aware, huh? Do you know how many professionals in the entertainment industry can’t even get their hands on a setup like this?"
These weren’t just priceless items; they were practically unattainable. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
"If Miss Tang is interested, these can also be yours."
Under the chandelier’s glow, Jing Yu’s eyes sparkled. "Anytime."
"..."
Tang-anti-rich Shu froze, momentarily speechless.
Jing Yu seemed to have figured out his girlfriend’s temperament well by now. Instead of saying anything too outrageous, he chose to take action... in more than one way.
"You..."
Barely managing to say one word, Tang Shu’s voice was swallowed in the heat of the moment.
By the time Xie Wuxia and her husband returned from their stroll, they found their son sitting alone on the sofa, watching TV. From his posture and the look on his face, it was evident he was in a very good mood.
"Son, where’s Xiao Shu?"
"She went home."
"Went home?! Ugh, you’re useless."
Xie Wuxia was utterly disappointed, slumping down as she stared at her son with a ’hopeless case’ expression.
"Can’t you have a little ambition? What’s with you being exactly like Old Jing—can’t even manage to chase a girl properly?"
Jing Yu, however, remained cheerful. "Mom, Xiao Shu’s already my girlfriend."
"I know," Xie Wuxia replied blankly, "but at this rate, when are you going to marry her?"
Why did she end up raising such a blockhead?
Jing Yu sighed, visibly helpless. "Mom, Xiao Shu is only twenty this year. It’s too early to talk about marriage."
