The Mighty Mage-Chapter 39: Sharp Eagle Hunter Group
Chapter 39: Chapter 39: Sharp Eagle Hunter Group
Stars appeared in Si Kai’s eyes and he hurriedly got ready.
At the same time, he didn’t forget to cover his mouth with a black mask.
When Gu Jin asked why he was wearing a mask, Si Kai looked at her as if she was some idiot and explained,
"You may not know this, but if I appear with you, then some elders of the Si Family will attack you."
Gu Jin was confused by Si Kai’s logic and tried to get off the mask but Si Kai showed a strong resistance.
At last, she gave up.
Si Kai on the other hand thought of something and his eyes darkened.
His beautiful sister was too naive.
It wasn’t like no one wanted to help Si Kai but they feared getting caught by those elders of the Si Family who originally opposed Si Kai being the heir.
Si Kai knew from the moment he was declared as trash, his life would become miserable.
He would neither be able to commit suicide nor get to live peacefully.
It wasn’t like he never tried to commit suicide. But each time someone would rescue him.
At first, he thought that his parents still cared about him and hence he once pretended to comment suicide, to expose them.
As he expected the moment he cut his hand, a man in a black robe appeared in front of him and used the healing element to save him.
Si Kai was thrilled and asked the man in a black robe whether he was a man sent by his father to keep him safe.
Instead of a warm reply or a shocked gasp, he heard a cruel laugh, and when the man in the black robe lifted the hoody, Si Kai saw the face of a subordinate who was under an elder of the Si Family.
The black robe man cruelly told him about how much fun the elder was having seeing him so miserable, and to ensure that this fun doesn’t get over very soon the elder asked him to save Si Kai.
It was then Si Kai knew, how poisonous a human’s heart could be.
Si Kai shuddered because of the coldness spreading in his body,
"Kai?" A warm voice brought him out of his dark memory.
Si Kai stared at Gu Jin who was kneeling in front of him with a worried expression.
"I am fine." Si Kai said.
Gu Jin’s eyes narrowed when she saw the hint of coldness in his eyes.
It was as if she was seeing the young her.
The same tiredness and coldness that she once saw in her eyes while looking into the mirror.
Her heart ached and she stretched out her hands and directly hugged Si Kai.
Lifting him in her arms, she said in a tone filled with impatience,
"You are walking too slowly! Blame your small legs!"
Si Kai was shocked by the sudden hug and struggled a bit with a blushing face,
"Put me down."
Gu Jin paused and asked with a serious expression,
"Do you feel uncomfortable?"
Si Kai blushed even more.
Of course, he didn’t! If he was being honest with himself, then he kind of liked it.
Gu Jin was just like a sibling he wanted in his life.
A big sister who would joke around, but always become serious whenever his safety was concerned.
Take revenge on those who hurt him and hug him when his mind is filled with negative thoughts.
So how could he resist her hug, when he needed it in the first place?
Si Kai simply buried his face in Gu Jin’s shoulder and said nothing.
Gu Jin’s serious expression and the worry in her heart finally faded.
Soon they reached outside a Building.
Si Kai read the name in his heart,
"Sharp Eagle Hunter Group."
Hm?
Wasn’t this the Number 1 hunter group in the entire city?
"Sister this..."
Sharp Eagle Hunter Group only recruits special types of talent. Gu Jin was a Plant Element awakener.
Even though Plant Elements is an uncommon element, there are still a few people in Sharp Eagle Hunter Group that have Plant Elements.
Plant Element is a bit unpopular due to its limited capabilities and weak attack powers.
Hence there was a 99% chance that Sharp Eagle Hunter Group would reject his sister.
Not to mention Gu Jin was only a primary-level mage.
Si Kai wanted to stop Gu Jin from entering the building.
"I know your concern but there are things that I want to know. At the same time, I want to try my luck." Gu Jin said causally.
Si Kai didn’t try to continue to convince her when he heard her words.
If she had something in mind then maybe the rejection would not be as bad as he thinks it to be.
"I wish I could be selected in this round! Previously I was rejected just because I was a step away from Advance-Level." A man with blue spiked hair said with a sad yet arrogant face.
"You will for sure Shaolin!" A tall lean man beside Wang Shaolin said.
"Yeah! How I wish I was talented like you!"
Since Gu Jin was behind them she was able to hear their conversation.
For a moment she was surprised by the fact that even a Half-Advance Level Mage was rejected, however, she had a feeling that the matter was not as simple as it seemed.
Soon Wang Shaolin and his few lackeys entered the room after submitting their resumes to the front desk.
Now it was Gu Jin’s turn.
"What is your name?" The receptionist asked with a smile.
Seeing Gu Jin’s handsome face, her heart was beating fast.
"Su Jin."
"What are your elements?"
"Plant."
"Just plant? Are you at the Intermediate Stage?" The receptionist asked.
"No primary level." Gu Jin replied.
The receptionist stared at Gu Jin for a while, even the people standing behind Gu Jin stared at her with disgust.
"I am sorry you can’t enter the interview room." The receptionist’s earlier enthusiastic behavior turned cold.
