The Princess Kidnapping System Made Me OP-Chapter 78: The Hero
Chapter 78: The Hero
"Greetings ladies, I am Elias Skywalker."
The man standing before Aofie was in shimmering gold armour that, annoyingly enough, reflected the light into Aofie’s eyes.
His sharp green eyes held a tingle of nobility within them, the way he carried himself typical of those who called themselves heroes.
He had a solid build befitting a warrior, a heroic blade strapped to his waist, and his brick-red hair was combed back neatly. freёnovelkiss.com
’What is a hero doing here?’
She had heard of heroes in the past, and even encountered some a few times in Teasei. Most of them were formidable but often proud and cocky.
Accompanying the hero was a group of three individuals. The nearest to him was a tall, well-built man with dark skin and a scar running down his chin.
He had a confident smile on his face, and from the way his hands subconsciously gravitated towards his back, where his shield was strapped,
Aofie could tell that he was constantly on his guard.
Behind the man were two girls that made Aofie raise a brow.
’A curious combination.’
A sorcerer and an assassin.
The sorcerer was young, probably sixteen or less. She had a witch’s hat on her head, obscuring most of her face, save for her rounded glasses and light green hair.
She was dressed in a long black robe with silver highlights resembling a flame, robes that identified her as a member of the Southern Tower.
Beside her was perhaps the most questionable character among them. The assassin.
Her black leather armour clung to her body like glue, a material that was specially designed to keep her as mobile as possible.
With a careful, nonchalant gaze, she was periodically but conspicuously keeping an eye on everything and everyone, her dark eyes searching for cues others would hardly notice.
Aofie stuffed another bun into her mouth as she observed them.
"It seems you guys are new to the city, do you need us to show you around?" Elias asked, a friendly smile on his face.
The hero was wrapping up his intentions in a friendly manner. But Aofie could tell from the insincerity in his smile and the way he would periodically glance at Daphne that he had other intentions.
"Fuck off."
Elias’ smile faltered at the bluntness of her words. "Pardon?"
"F-u-c—"
"Hahahahah," Freya suddenly cut her off with a nervous laughter, then held her and pulled her closer to herself.
Aofie had been slowing down her words to make sure he heard her when Freya suddenly grabbed onto her mouth to shut her up.
"Mmmmm." Aofie frowned, glaring at her.
Freya sighed, sweat falling from the side of her face. "Don’t mind her, she doesn’t like being disturbed while eating."
After making sure that Aofie would not say anything rash, Freya finally let go of her.
Elias looked to his teammates before looking back at the girls.
"You guys are new adventurers, right? If you’re new to the city, we can show you the ropes."
"Thank you for the offer, but we’ll be fine," Freya said, turning back to her food.
"Alright then, if you need anything, don’t forget to ask. You can always find me at the guild," Elias said, his eyes lingering on Daphne.
He turned to leave when his friend stepped forward and placed a hand on Aofie’s shoulder.
"No need to be so cold, when you’re done here, maybe we can go get some—"
Tzzzz!
Before he could complete his sentence, lightning erupted from Aofie’s body, coiling one around his back before flashing violently at his neck.
The man screamed, his body spasming for a second before the hero managed to pull him off Aofie and toss him to the floor.
Elias stared at him blankly, as he watched the man staring up at the ceiling, too stunned to do anything else. White smoke was slowly drifting from his body into the air.
Daphne’s lip curled upward.
The sorcerer behind them walked up to Jacob and frowned.
"Every time..." she muttered in annoyance as she stretched her hand above him. "Heal."
Strange patterns appeared above her fingers, and then a soft warm glow engulfed the man.
Seconds later, he sat up straight, trying to shake the fogginess out of his head.
’So she can heal as well?’ Aofie thought to herself, her gaze locked on the girl.
The sorcerer then stood up. "I’m sorry about him, he’s always too touchy. As fellow adventurers, why don’t we introduce ourselves?"
"I am Lisa, this giant here is Jacob, the girl with the daggers is Sarah, and you already know Elias."
Aofie reached towards her plate to grab another bun, completely ignoring the girl, only to realise that it was all gone.
Seeing nothing left to eat, she set her eyes on Freya’s bread, the latter pushing her plate of bread a bit farther, and the grip on her cup of coffee increasing ever so slightly.
It was Esme who took the initiative:
"I am Esme, the girl in front of you is Aofie, and this is Freya. The girl sitting next to me is Daphne."
Lisa’s smile was friendly and genuine. "It was nice meeting you, I guess we’ll see you around then. Let’s go, guys—"
Bump!
She walked into someone, face first, nearly falling, when the person grabbed her hand to keep her upright.
"Are you alright?"
Lisa looked up and locked gazes with Wise, a little longer than necessary, before nodding and moving to the side.
"Sorry, I wasn’t looking."
Wise waved dismissively. "It’s nothing."
"Alright guys," he said, holding up some forms. "I’m done with the paperwork, it’s time for the evaluation."
He took a moment to observe the hero’s party, before turning his attention back to them.
Aofie had finished eating; a few more minutes and the rest of them would be done.
But she had other plans...
She pulled out a chair next to her. "You can sit here. Aren’t you going to order?"
Aofie wasn’t really interested in him eating, all she wanted to do was get some of his food for herself!
Hiding her sly smile, Aofie tapped on the chair softly.

Wise frowned, almost instantly recognising Aofie’s antics.
’Just order another plate if you want more...’
He walked towards her, about to sit when he heard a rattling sound.
The hero, Elias as Wise had overheard, was staring at his sword, looking slightly confused.
The heroic blade was glowing softly and shaking in its sheath, as though it were mere moments from breaking free.
Elias frowned as he pulled out the golden blade that was now awash with a pure golden light.
The blade vibrated in his hands before moving forward, its tip pointing right at Wise’s heart.
A sudden silence enveloped the area around them as Elias’ gaze hardened.
"Who—no, what are you?"
A dark smile appeared on Wise’s lips as he pushed his hair back in annoyance.
’This is why I hate heroes.’
