Chapter 330: Sleeping beauty- IV

My gasp was swallowed by his lips as his tongue thrusts past my lips, and the way he loses control should scare me.

Maybe it did, but I didn’t get a chance to examine it because Tristan kissed me with so much desperation and need, it clouded my mind.

When my tongue brushed against his, a growl rumbled deep from his chest, and the last of his control was obliterated.

My hands moved to the sides of his neck, and I kissed him with every emotion he had made me feel. Every bit of love, passion that he felt for me, I felt in the kiss. I tried to do the same.

Having him so close to me, intimately, often clouded my judgement was like it was doing now.

All I wanted, was to kiss him and continue doing so until my last breath.

Panting, I let go of his lips only for him to swoop in and steal a quick one away before finally letting me go.

"This is how you make me feel every second of the day," he whispered, making me feel his words on my skin as he dressed the side of my lips with his thumb. "Every second. Do you understand what kind of torture that is, Genevive?"

I shook my head even though I wanted to nod. I felt the same sometimes. Not every second like him, but sometimes whenever I would look at him.

"Of course, you don’t." His thumb graced my cheek now. "You don’t love me the same way I love you."

"What?" That was incorrect. "No, I—"

"Two things," his lips twisted up into a smile, "One, You cannot feel the same as I do and second, you were about to prove me wrong. You think you love me more than I love you. Keyword, you do love me."

I frowned, thinking about what he said. He had definitely hit the nail on the wall.

I stepped away from him, only to be pulled back into his arms as they locked behind my waist. "What?" I asked, shying away from him and not looking into his eyes.

Glancing at him, I found the neutral expression slipping back to his face. "I am going to marry You by the end of the year, Genevieve. Nothing and no one will be able to stop me from doing that. So I want you to accept it and prepare yourself for it because I’m going to spend the rest of my life with You."

I blinked before Turning to look away from him. My eyes caught the sight of the writing table with an ink pot and sheets of paper on it.

The letters I had written to my sister came to my mind instantly. I was yet to receive a reply from her but given that Sir Walter was no longer in the palace, it was going to be difficult.

But I needed to help her and help her standing in front of me.

There was only one way I could provide my sister the help she needed and that was by providing her the army and support that she would need in order to become the Queen.

Most of it could only be provided by Tristan because he was, by far the most powerful person I knew that was capable of helping us.

However, I had not received any letter from her. That put me in an uncomfortable and unstable condition because I could not ask him for help in case she had it from someone else.

Knowing my sister, I knew she would manage to get help on her own. That’s what put me in a questioning stance on this. Do I ask stressed and for help or do I not?

I flinched and hissed through my teeth when I felt a harsh pinch on my waist. It was his hand that was resting on the same spot, now rubbing my skin.

"Did you pinch me?!" I glared at his hand before glaring at his face. "How dare you!"

In my opinion and defence, it was quite a horse bench. I threw away his hand from my waist and started to rub the area more aggressively because of the aftermath. It hurt!

Tristan sighed wilfully. "How is it that something always occupies your mind when you are with me. What is it that deserves your attention more than I do?"

"Something of value." I stated the obvious answer. "Sometimes, talking to you reminds me of something in my mind just.."

"Wanders to it?" He completed my sentence for me and it was an exact fate. So, I nodded as confirmation.

"Exactly, yes." I whispered, realising that he had once again come close to me. "Why are you so close to me again? You stepped away."

He gave me a small grin. "because it is unbearable to stand away from You."

Tristan Leaned and and took a long inhale right above my neck and shoulder. " it is unbearable to not come close and take in your scent."

I gulped and a shiver of fear down my spine. But it was only a small part of what I felt. I also felt... Excited by his words. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

I was quick to chastise myself. That was not what I was taught as a lady and a princess. That was highly appropriate for me to think of a man this way whom I was not married to.

"Oh, Genevive," He sighed and touched my cheek. "Appropriate is hardly ever going to be a concern of yours in the near future."

"What?" I frowned. What did that mean?

"Nothing." He stepped away again but this time took multiple of them. "Anna will get you ready. You will have breakfast with the ladies today."

Breakfast with the ladies? I narrowed my eyes on him. The sneaky smile that he was trying to hide only made my suspicions be confirmed.

Why do I feel like I am being thrown to the wolves?
