The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 331: The ladies - I
Anna got me ready for the day or perhaps, the night would seem more appropriate since it was getting darker outside.
Today the colour of the dress that I was wearing matched the gem emerald.
It was the favorite color of my mother and most of the jewels she owned were of the same color too.
"Your Highness," Anna stood behind me with a box in her hands. "The king sent this for you."
"What is it?"
As an answer, she opened the box and my eyes widened. It was an emerald necklace, the same shade as my dress. "You.. It is not mine, Anna." I had jewelry of the same gem but nothing crafted so beautifully. The design was different as well, a tell that it was made country from mine.
"Yes, your highness. It is From his highness, the king." She kept it in front of me and on the dressing table. "He wants you to wear it today."
My eyes went over to the necklace once again. It was beautiful. In fact, it was one of the most beautiful necklaces I had ever seen And as a princess, I had had my fair share of them.
"Why has he sent this over?" Taking my eyes off the necklace, I looked at Anna through the mirror. "Is there any special event?"
"None That I know of, your grace. He just sent this over for you to keep an hour. Maybe to show his love?"
The suggestive tone she used in the end made me look down at the necklace. Maybe, it was nothing but a gift from him.
We did decide to move forward, numerous times that had been decided yet none of us could follow through. So maybe, after what I had done I could take accept this as a small truce.
I nodded And she went forward the jacket out of the box before bringing it to my neck and clasping the buckle from the back.
"There it is," She whispered and took a step back before staring at her work with pride. "You look so beautiful, your majesty."
I was not a majesty yet. "Thank you, Anna. Now I shall take you to the breakfast room."
"I shall accompany you." She stepped away and to the side, giving me enough space to stand comfortably.
"You don’t have to worry about me getting lost, Anna. I know the way to the dining room." I replied, before moving towards the door.
"It is in the parlour and you have not been there yet, your highness. Please allow me." She stepped by my side, walking with me much to my irritation.
I was ready to tell her off, before making sure that she never stepped into my room again before it hit me. She was not letting me walk alone.
Someone had instructed her not to leave me alone.
Suddenly, I did not feel like talking anymore. Walking towards the door, let her open them for me. It did not matter if I knew the way to the parlour or not. The rooms had not changed since Queen Anastasiia had given me a tour and I remembered very well where the parlour was.
However, I let her do as she was told to do.
It also did not escape past my tension that there were two guards following me. They were not Solomon and Bert but by the looks of them, they were vampires for sure.
Just as I had thought, the Parlour was exactly where the previous queen had showed me.
My arrival was announced and moments later, I walked in. Everyone was standing and staring at me.
How long has it been since I had that kind of authority over people? I barely remembered it anymore.
"Please sit," I said quietly after I took a seat next to Chiara.
"Genevieve," Chiara leaned in, "why don’t you sit over there?"
Looking over to where she was pointing, I held back my words. She wanted me to sit in a single seat, that oversaw everything and one in the room and was fit for the Queen.
I wanted to argue, place my point that I was not a queen at least not yet but I found myself above and tired of all those things.
So, I silently stood up and found myself sitting on the seat pointed out by his aunt. The seat where everyone could get a look at me, the Queen.
"I was thinking," Camilla, Whom I remember was the mother-in-law of my friend Merelyn, said, "How soon are we going to have another wedding to plan for? And for The King, no less!"
"Soon," Chiara agreed with a smile of her own. "I cannot believe my nephew is going to get married next. I remember the day when both of my children were just so young that marriage was the last thought on my mind."
Chiara talking about her daughter. I think she was with Vaughn.
"As a princess, you must have some expectations for your wedding. Please let us know and we will try our best to make it happen!" A woman sitting next to Camille said and I nodded to her with a smile.
"I will."
"I think she must want a fairytale wedding. With flowers and lots of candles and a feast for the people. I heard about your mothers wedding. It was so beautiful. Do you want a wedding like hers?"
My mothers wedding... I had heard about it. That was the only thing I could have had that was remotely close to it.
Mama would tell me about it as much as she could whenever she would have free time to do that at least.
"I think," Merelyn said, "Maybe, we should think about the dress fast. A beautiful red dress with red jewels.."
Marilyn kept on talking about details in the dress when it finally hit me. She was taking the attention of me by creating a diversion.
My friend knew how much it had for me to talk about my mother and she was deflecting the situation.
I leaned Further in my chair and continued to listen to her or at least appeared to do so. Some friends, and life were nothing but miracles come true.
