Chapter 361: A reunion - II

Tristan wanted me to sit next to him on the throne? The royal throne?

Someone, the king of all the queen, could only sit on the throne when they had been officiated in front of everyone.

"I.. I cann—"

"You can," He whispered in my ear, standing behind me, as if concealing my sight from everyone. "I say it."

The king said it.

MyTristan said it.

It was the same stone that I had always thought would be mine after marriage to Prince Terrence. It was the one I had dreamt of. Right now, it was just seconds away from my reach and it was going to be shared by Me with someone who loved me.

It was mine and his. It was ours.

Tristan placed his hand at my lower back, slowly pushing me forward to work ahead of him. I was walking in front of the king, just one step ahead, but if anyone tradition minded noticed it, the new what kind of statement he was making.

The Queen was no longer just a pawn. The Queen was going to rule the kingdom beside her king, and he was giving her all the power she had on the chess board in the throne room.

He took my hand as we stepped on the stairs, after all the throne had to be visible to everyone, so it was on an elevated platform. Tristan waited until I said first, before taking his seat beside me.

As he sat down, my eyes went to everyone in front of me. A few faces I recognised, a few I did not. A few I remembered to be human who were present at my failed wedding to Terrance.

"King Tristan of House Valkavian with the future queen princess Genevive of house Hartone," Dominique spoke loudly and proudly announcing to the entire room, filled with powerful men of the kingdom.

The entire courtroom was in silence before a loud round of applause was had almost shattering my eardrums.

It was difficult to tell what everyone was feeling. Not everyone was going to be happy with this alliance, but by looking at the faces of everyone, it seemed like they were.

"This is the official announcement of the joining of two houses from two different countries into a powerful one. Princess Geneviève is to wed Prince Tristan in a private ceremony, but I shall extend the invitation out to some of you who will be selected to be a part of the audience of to witness the holy union of the king and queen of the country."

"Until then, let it be known that a huge feast for the entire nation will be prepared for five nights consecutively after at the wedding."

Another round of applause went in, this time it was higher than the previous one. Dominique then announced that the assembly was dismissed, and everyone good politely as he put, get out.

My favorite was still Sir Reginald.

Most of the people left and then they were only vampires that I recognised the most of. So they were no humans, they trusted to be in the room with?

I felt slightly disappointed. I had hoped that Sir Walter would be here.

"Now," Dominique turned to us, "Now that the official announcements are out of the way, I can tell you why you have been brought here."

He said that to me and I found myself, moving my head slowly but barely.

However, my go ahead was what he was not looking for. His eyes went to Tristan who nodded. His nod was much more defined and confident than mine.

Dominique’s I just moved to me. We have found someone related to you and we have confirmation about it. I present to you,"

The doors opened, and the sound was enough to almost stop my heart from beating.

I stared ahead as Dominick continued, "Princess Catherine, your sister."

Catherine?!

I waited until she walked into the throne room, and it was all I needed to wait for. That was the confirmation I needed.

That was my sister, and I could recognise her body from afar.

Standing up, I lifted my skirt, a little bit before running towards her. Catherine broke down just as I reached her, lifting her arms in the air for me to hug.

I wrapped my arms around her as tightly as I could. One of my arms was on her back, while the other hand supported her head as I tried to squeeze her towards me as much as I could.

This was my sister, my baby that I was in charge of raising since my mother passed away. Yes, here she was, crying in my arms after she met me after almost...

Two years.

The dreaded timeline made me cry as well. I had been separated from my dearest Catherine for two years.

"Oh love," I pulled away from her forcefully as my sister was not ready to go. I needed to see her.

My hands reached her cheeks, wanting to touch her, just feel if she was really there or not. My sister was dangerously thin, the chubby cheeks that I once adored and pinched out of love were no longer there. She had sunken eyes and was dressed poorly. I was not sure how she survived in the borders given that it was cold there, and she was wearing a thin piece of cloth as a cloak.

"What happened to you?" I whispered, no longer able to see the flight that she was in. "You were supposed to be safe inside the palace walls. "How in the world did you get in between two countries?"

I felt heat on my back and I knew that Tristan was behind me. "That is something we all want to know, but for now, why don’t we let her rest and eat something?"

His words held more information that he was giving me, and since I wanted to know everything, I agreed.
