Chapter 430: Sisterly behaviour- IV

After our conversation, I had truef bed in the same quarters and so did my sister. Estelle had shared a bed with Catherine and I, something she had always refused to do.

Perhaps it was one of the last moments she wanted to spend with us as just sisters.

When Catherine woke up and had found her eldest sister beside her, she had started crying, and had hugged Estelle while doing so, waking her up in the process, and looking at me with visible annoyance.

That was only for a few seconds before she hugged Catherine back.

I nodded at her before slipping out of the bed and of the quarters. Just as I had helped, I found Chiara outside.

"Did you rest?" I asked her after sharing a brief hug in greeting.

She shook her head as she answered me, "No, I’m too excited to go back and bring justice to my sister. I will sleep when I am done."

"I understand." Hopefully, she would not indulge in the gruesome details that she was going to do to Annastasia. The woman deserved it, and I would ask Tristan what happened to her. But I would still not sully my ears, knowing what was happening to her are you?

"We are going to be leaving after the humans and you have eaten. You may want to hurry up."

I frowned lightly. "I suppose you cannot use your speech to catch up on the distance?"

"No." She sighed. "We also brought a fragment of the human army. One of it is going to stay with your sister until her army eyes, which is only a day or two away. The rest is coming back with us and we have to move with their speed."

She paused a little before continuing, "I heard what you asked of my nephew. I’m glad you made such a choice." She touched my cheek tenderly. "I cannot wait to welcome even the family and oh my God, plan a wedding. I am absolutely thrilled!"

My cheeks burned and I am sure she could feel that under the cheek she was holding. "Thank you."

"He told you?"

She nodded. "Turning a human is an intimate event. Something then or not really good at. So when it comes to turning a woman, women from both sides of the families, if vampires, involve themselves in the preparation."

"I see."

She hummed. "I cannot wait as your mentor to start giving you lessons. You are going to be the greatest queen in the history of humans and vampires."

I blushed more. "I am sure all your efforts will help me."

Chiara smiled. "I would love to have you in my family. Please, start calling me aunt."

"I will." it might be a little awkward, given my initial dislike of the woman but the more I think of her, the more I

Understood what strength she possessed.

"Now, go. Stop that little girl from crying and get her ready. We have to leave soon. I have a coronation in a marriage plan." She winked before shooing me away.

I chuckled but left back towards the room. I had to pull Catherine away from Estelle, who was happy for the interruption and moved away swiftly. No matter how much she may miss her, her aversion to physical affection may always remain.

I made sure that Catherine was dressed first, even though Irene briefly protested otherwise. Once she was rested, I quickly got ready. The color of my dress was red and I understood what it symbolized.

"Your grace," Irene whispered in my ear, but that also attracted Catherine’s attention, "his majesy is in the living—"

Catherine was already up from her seat and running out of the room. I followed her, but was a little late, because my sister was already hugging Tristan, who reciprocated by keeping his hands on her shoulders and her head.

"Thank you! Thank you so much for saving us!"

Tristan smiled and it warmed my heart. "Please, do not thank me."

As if his words could stop my sister, she continued thanking him, until I was the one to sharply reprimand her and pull her away. I may have to take her approach once in awhile given that Catherine also responded well to sharp words when she got spoiled.

Breakfast was done quickly, given that we had to leave as soon as possible, and dawn was already upon us.

People were standing outside, crowding the gates of the palace, but still a step away from the soldiers of Astria who stayed. Maybe it was their fear of thinking that they were also the creatures of night.

"Write to me," I told my sister who was beside me walking me to my horse, "I do not care what you like to me, but please write to me."

I got the swift change in her emotions that was just in her eyes. She nodded a little. "I will."

I squeezed her hand that I had been holding before taking Tristan’s hand and mounting on my horse. He mounted the one next to me as my sister stepped back.

A deep breath later, I gave one last look to my home for the past twenty years and my sister. Looking away was hard, but I pulled myself away instead forward.

The guard started marching, and we moved. Tristan pulled closer and pulled my hand in his, while keeping his eyes forward and especially a little catherine.

I looked forward but a familiar flag caught my eyes. It was the flag of the temple my mother and I visited most frequently in the capital. I remembered praying for love, for my prince and realised how it was never about Terrence even though I knew of your bethroal. I had just wished for my happiness and my marriage to my love.

I found my happiness, I told my God and my mother with a smile so bright that it hurt my cheeks.

I found it in my Vampire Prince.
