The Regressor's Younger Brother's Insanity-Chapter 57: Leader of the Ataraxia orginazation

In a dark room, a hooded man stood with an angry expression. He’s a member of the Ataraxia Organization.

In front of him was a shelf resembling a library. On the shelves, many boxes were placed.

The hooded man picked up one of the boxes and opened it.

Inside the box was a dead, centipede-like bug.

The hooded man clicked his tongue and quickly rushed out of the room, holding the box.

After walking through a narrow corridor, he reached a huge door.

He pushed it open with both hands, and the door slowly creaked open.

Beyond it was a vast chamber. On the ceiling hung an artificial crimson moon, and countless dead bodies dangled from above.

At the end of the chamber stood a black throne, shrouded in writhing dark flames.

At the center of the room lay a massive pool, it was not filled with water, but with blood.

The pool was also surrounded by the headless bodies of women.

Plishhh... plop... drip... drip...

Suddenly, a man rose from the pool of blood and began walking toward the throne.

Then the hooded man who had entered the room in a rush quickly bowed at the entrance.

"My lord, the dragon, Ragon, has also been killed." the hooded man said, sweat covering his face.

The man who came out of the pool of blood and sat on the throne was none other than their leader, who had reached the Life and Death realm.

The leader of the Ataraxia orginazation.

Even the patriarchs of the seven great families were nothing but brats to him.

Even in his human body, he was not truly human. He was a being who had lived for a thousand years.

"Who was it?" the organization leader asked.

His voice was enough to suffocate the hooded man. But if he wasted time on nervousness, he might anger the man on the throne. So he quickly answered,

"We don’t know who it is. But the Gu poison exploded near the Noctvain family. Thus, it may be the Noctvain Patriarch, Kyle von Noctvain."

Gu poison was a type of poison that allowed someone to control another person’s will.

A sorcerer would place many venomous creatures (snakes, scorpions, centipedes, spiders, toads, etc.) inside a sealed jar.

Then they would fight and devour each other.

The last surviving creature, filled with the combined toxins of all the others, was called the Gu.

That Gu poison was then inserted into a subordinate so they couldn’t betray the organization.

That same poison was put inside the dragon that Aether fought.

The Gu poison also came in pairs, known as Command Gu and Servant Gu. The dragon had the Servant Gu. When the Servant Gu died inside the dragon, the Command Gu on the shelf also exploded.

"My lord, if you give me time, I’ll find....." Before the hooded man could finish, the man sitting on the throne spoke with an expressionless face.

"The fake destined one has appeared, and it has been 15 years and we still have failed to find him. Rather than wasting time on a mere dragon, search for that destined one."

Upon hearing this, the hooded man slammed his head to the ground and said loudly,

"Forgive my insignificant self. All bow before the Ataraxia, all bow before the Leader of the Ataraxia, all bow before the hell."

Then he quickly stood up and rushed out of the room.

The leader of Ataraxia then sighed,

"I had sacrificed thousands of footsoldiers to the Noctvain Patriarch, hoping he would stop investigating us. But it seems he’s intertwined with our fate."

The kidnapping of Aether and the sending of 1000 men to fight the Noctvain Patriarch had been just a means to manipulate the Patriarch into believing that their existence had ended.

But because of Aether killing the dragon, the leader of the Ataraxia thought the Noctvain were still after them.

After the fight with the dragon, Ragon, Aether passed out from exhaustion.

Cierra and the warriors from the Noctvain who were at the battlefield brought him to the estate.

And now, Aether was in his room lying down.

Then he woke up and opened his eyes.

His body was covered in bandages from neck to toe.

"It seems I received heavy treatment from the physician."

Aether then stood up from the bed and commanded his system to heal him.

I think I should keep them on, Aether thought to himself.

Even though he could heal his body completely, removing his bandages would only cause trouble.

Just then, the door opened and Cierra and Aether’s mother entered.

Seeing Aether awake, his mother rushed in and hugged him tightly.

"I’m sorry, my son, I’m really sorry" she said in guilt, tears streaming down her face.

She was really worried. Just after Aether returned from being kidnapped by the cultists, she had sworn that she would protect him, but then Aether was kidnapped by that dragon, Ragon.

And the sad part was that Aether had to fight alone.

So his mother felt guilty.

"It’s okay, Mother. I also need experience if I want to lead the Noctvain family." Aether comforted her.

Behind them, in a corner, stood Cierra. She was also crying silently. Just like Aether’s mother, she felt guilty for not helping him properly.

Moreover, she felt like she was a burden to him.

Seeing Cierra crying as well, Aether felt heartbroken.
