The Soft-Hearted Wife of Mr. Big Shot-Chapter 162: I Like You Because It’s You
Holly sat across from Leo Grant, staring at him without blinking, while her bowl of white rice remained untouched.
"What, are you full just by looking at me?"
Leo watched Holly with a smile, his eyes filled with warmth.
Holly shook her head.
"Did you eat while cooking, and now you’re full?"
Leo looked at Holly as he spoke gently.
Holly had prepared a table full of delicious dishes, each looking highly appetizing.
He knew she could cook, but he’d never tasted her food before and was unsure of her skills, though they appeared promising.
Holly continued to shake her head, her gaze unwavering on Leo.
"What’s wrong?"
Holly’s bold stare and silence puzzled Leo.
"Let’s eat."
Holly quickly picked up the bowl, ready to eat.
She was just worried Leo might suddenly do something unexpected to her, so she kept staring at him.
The enticing aroma of the food made her stomach grumble, and she couldn’t help but start eating.
"It’s very good."
Leo took a bite and evaluated.
Holly’s cooking skills were truly impressive.
"Should I cook for you again next time?"
Holly blinked, asking tentatively.
She never denied her cooking skills, always thinking they were decent.
"I’ll cook for you."
Leo shook his head; he couldn’t bear to let her do all the work.
"It seems I need to bring Mrs. Hayes here soon, so you can take it easy."
Leo peeled a shrimp for Holly, placing it in her bowl as he spoke softly.
Mrs. Hayes was still in Bexley, dealing with the villa’s affairs before coming over.
Leo lived there all the time; it was a lively place with flowers and plants, which needed care or they’d wither.
Holly kept her head down, quietly eating, but her eyes were full of laughter.
"By the way, brother, I want to go out tomorrow."
Holly looked up, blinking at Leo.
She’d returned to Arkenfall for a few days and hadn’t contacted or visited The Pantheon headquarters since her arrival.
She felt like she was being quite an irresponsible leader.
"Where to?"
Leo asked.
"The Pantheon headquarters."
Holly replied.
"Alright."
After finishing the meal, Leo went to wash the dishes, and Holly followed him into the kitchen.
"I’ll do it."
Leo turned to look at Holly, his gaze tender.
He couldn’t bear to see her soft hands doing the dishes.
"Brother."
Suddenly, Holly hugged Leo from behind, burying her head in his waist, holding him tightly. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
"Hmm?"
Leo was momentarily stunned, his movements pausing.
Something seemed off with her.
"Meeting you, it’s really nice."
Holly said softly.
She’d probably said this many times, but she still wanted to say it.
Meeting Leo was truly a fortunate thing, so wonderful that she couldn’t find the words to describe it.
"Silly."
Leo turned his head to look at Holly, his gentle smile seemed ready to overflow.
He felt extremely fortunate to have met Holly as well.
"Brother, what if you find out I’m flawed in the future?"
Holly held Leo tightly, speaking slowly, her tone somewhat heavy.
In many people’s eyes, she had the looks, the power, the money, and could be seen as perfect.
She never thought she was lacking nor felt unworthy of Leo. But...
Her gaze suddenly dimmed.
"Silly, I love you for who you are, whether perfect or flawed, it doesn’t change how I feel about you."
Leo turned around, pulling Holly into his arms, gently rubbing her head with a tender voice.
He loved Holly, flaws and all.
Because in his heart, she was the best.
"Hmm."
Holly buried her head deeply into Leo’s embrace, her voice heavy with emotion.
Feeling a bit sad, sad enough to cry.
"Is this because you don’t trust me, hmm?"
Leo lightly kissed the top of Holly’s head, his voice soft.
The little girl seemed close to tears.
"No."
Holly shook her head.
She didn’t distrust Leo, she just felt scared.
Leo treated her so well, she felt free and uninhibited.
But it was because Leo was so good to her that she felt uneasy, afraid that one day this goodness would disappear.
Perhaps girls in love are all little fools, always experiencing insecurity, never truly feeling safe.
"Be good, go watch TV, I’ll join you after I’m done with the dishes, okay?"
Leo gently rubbed Holly’s head, his tone soft and indulgent.
"Okay."
Holly nodded and let go, blinking at Leo.
"Alright, don’t overthink it."
Leo placed a gentle kiss on Holly’s forehead, brushing her hair softly.
The girl really was a little fool.
"Okay."
Holly nodded.
"Brother, let me put on your apron."
Holly grabbed the apron hanging nearby, giggling as she approached Leo.
The apron was pink and girly, obviously meant for a woman.
"Alright."
Leo didn’t mind as Holly put it on him.
Her movements were light and careful.
"Fits perfectly, huh?"
Holly looked at her handiwork, playfully blinking, her eyes filled with laughter.
The pink apron on Leo didn’t look out of place, it was almost cute.
Leo’s mouth twitched slightly, looking at Holly with tender eyes, "How does it fit perfectly, hmm?"
He’d never tried pink before, deeming it too feminine in his own words.
But since it was put on by Holly, he didn’t mind; as long as she was happy.
"Very cute."
Holly pondered, touching her chin, a playful smile on her lips.
It truly was cute, Leo had a surprisingly cute side.
Leo: "Not as cute as Holly."
"Get on with the dishes."
Holly said and skipped out of the kitchen.
The TV in the living room was still on, the male and female leads were in a passionate kiss, making Holly pause.
Thinking of Leo’s kiss, her face felt warmly flushed.
It felt quite embarrassing, but thankfully Leo wasn’t around.
