Chapter 194: Chapter 194: Just in Time for Lunch

The birthday party that Elder Grant threw for Leo was quite grand, and nearly everyone who was anyone in Arkenfall showed up.

The old mansion was spacious, so even with people walking around inside, it didn’t feel crowded; Elder Grant liked peace and quiet usually, so visitors were not frequent.

Most people were somewhat curious about the Grant Family’s old mansion.

Holly Sawyer and Cecilia Bennett arrived right around noon, just in time for lunch, and the Grant Family had already prepared it.

"We were too hasty; we should have come later."

Cecilia Bennett looked at the arranged tables and chairs and the people already sitting and chatting, grumbling a bit.

Arriving just at lunchtime was really a bit untimely, and since they didn’t know many people, it might get a little awkward sitting together.

Both Holly Sawyer and Cecilia Bennett weren’t the types who liked sitting with strangers, especially those who considered themselves high society and were pompously aloof.

"I agree," Holly said, holding onto Cecilia Bennett’s arm, speaking slowly.

They really should have come later; she wasn’t particularly interested in the food here anyway.

She’d much rather sample the food outside; should have eaten her fill before coming.

"Miss Sawyer, come over and sit."

Stella Jacobs saw Holly and called her over.

She was sitting at a table with a few girls of similar age, happily chatting away.

When she saw Holly, her eyes lit up instantly, and she quickly got up to walk towards Holly.

She really liked Holly.

Sarah Grant was also there; when she saw Holly, she gave a disdainful look but said nothing.

"Do you know her?"

Cecilia Bennett raised her eyebrows as she stood by Holly.

She was very attentive to her friends.

"Yes," Holly nodded.

"Miss Sawyer, come join us, there are two empty seats here."

Stella Jacobs invited, wanting to use this opportunity to build a rapport with Holly, genuinely wanting to befriend her.

"Come on, let’s go," Cecilia Bennett nudged Holly forward.

After all, they didn’t know anyone else, so they might as well sit here.

Stella Jacobs seemed quite friendly.

Holly nodded, "Alright."

The two sat down in the empty seats, and people immediately began trying to strike up a conversation, asking all sorts of questions.

Holly Sawyer and Cecilia Bennett were both very beautiful, yet none of them recognized the two; as young ladies from prestigious families, they felt they should at least find them familiar.

So, they were curious about Holly Sawyer and Cecilia Bennett’s identities.

Cecilia Bennett had gone abroad at an early age and lived overseas, so it wasn’t unusual for people not to know her.

Holly Sawyer wasn’t part of this social circle.

"Let’s get back to our original topic."

Seeing Holly didn’t want to answer, Stella Jacobs quickly interjected.

The group resumed their previous conversation.

Holly had her phone out but didn’t text Leo; at this time, Leo was likely busy, and she intended to text him a bit later.

"Aren’t you going to text your guy?"

Cecilia Bennett leaned in close to Holly, whispering.

She was just a sidekick here to accompany Holly.

Holly: "Later."

"By the way, it’s been a while since I last saw Young Master Grant; wonder how he’s grown."

Suddenly, someone shifted the topic to Leo.

This was Leo’s birthday party, and essentially his succession party; everyone present was well aware of that.

"He was handsome back then, so he probably hasn’t gotten any worse."

"I saw him earlier; his looks are truly out of this world."

"I saw him too, really handsome."

"I’m really curious about what kind of girl Young Master Grant likes. Do you think he’d like my type?"

"Stop dreaming, Stella’s right here, what are you thinking?"

"Yeah, Stella and Young Master Grant grew up together; it’s only natural they have a good relationship, might even end up together." 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

"I think so too."

"With the Grant family’s wealth and status, being with them means you’ll never have to worry for the rest of your life."

"..."

Everyone at the table was engaged in discussion, while Holly remained silent.

"Don’t talk nonsense, Leo and I are just friends; there’s nothing more. Besides, Leo already has a girlfriend, and she’s very beautiful."

Stella Jacobs said with her gaze landing on Holly’s face.

Holly didn’t pay it any mind and continued whispering with Cecilia Bennett.

No one else made the connection to Holly.

"Want me to explain for you?"

Holly seemed completely unbothered by the conversation, and Stella Jacobs turned to ask Holly.

Holly seemed rather entertained listening in; she feared if Stella spoke up, it would ruin Holly’s fun.

Holly shook her head, "No need, I want to hear it."

Standing right before these people as Leo’s official girlfriend, she enjoyed hearing them chat about her boyfriend, and then later seeing them shocked when the truth came out.

That kind of scene was unbeatable; she quite liked it.

"Tsk tsk tsk, just playing, right?"

Cecilia Bennett said with a smile, slowly opening her mouth.

Understanding Holly, she knew what Holly was thinking now.

"Right," Holly nodded.

The lunch hour passed quickly, and Holly still hadn’t texted Leo. Just as she was about to take out her phone to text him, Leo called.

A smile spread on her lips as she sweetly called out, "Brother."

"Haven’t you come over yet? I’ll come get you now."

Leo’s gentle voice came through the phone, though the background noise on his end was quite loud.

Holly slightly curled her lips upwards, her eyes fixated on the figure not far from her, and her smile deepened.

"No need."

Holly’s lips curled into a smile, her voice carrying a bit of laughter.

"Turn around."

Holly said again, the delight in her voice even more apparent.

Leo turned around, his gaze landing accurately on Holly, his usual iciness melting away, leaving only warmth.

Even with so many people in front, amidst the noisy crowd, he immediately saw Holly at first glance.

To truly love someone probably means you’ll spot her right away in a crowd.

No matter the place or setting, no matter how many people, how noisy, Leo always managed to spot Holly immediately.

At the moment he saw Holly, his entire demeanor softened, eyes filled with smiles.

Simply seeing the person he adored, Leo’s gaze was so warm and distinct that many noticed, finding it quite unbelievable.

Because Leo had rushed over in the early morning, and his expression hadn’t changed much throughout the day, this sudden change was astonishing to many.

"Wow, that look is insanely gentle, isn’t it?"

"Young Master Grant is looking at someone, it must be a girl he loves."

"He’s looking this way, I’m really curious to know which lucky girl it is."
