The Soft-Hearted Wife of Mr. Big Shot-Chapter 195: Leo Grant’s Tenderness
"Could it be Stella? Stella has known Young Master Grant for so long."
"I think it might be."
"That look is so doting, so gentle."
"..."
Leo Grant’s gentle gaze was noticed by many, and people were abuzz with discussions.
After all, the Leo Grant they knew never had such a gentle look; his gaze was always cold and indifferent.
Leo’s eyes were locked on Holly as he stepped towards her.
The murmurs grew louder, and cheers began to erupt, many watching with a look of anticipation.
Because these matters had nothing to do with them, they couldn’t be involved in any way.
Leo’s steps finally stopped in front of Holly, and he looked down at her affectionately.
"I missed you."
Leo suddenly said this, his gaze extremely gentle as he looked at Holly.
Yes, he missed Holly, having not seen her all morning, he missed her terribly.
Among the official smiles and greetings in the crowd, he would involuntarily think of his beloved girl.
"I missed you too."
Holly smiled sweetly, and her voice was equally sweet.
Holly and Leo, amidst everyone’s gaze, expressed their longing for each other, as if all other people were just air.
"Whoa, this is way too sweet!"
"Is she Young Master Grant’s girlfriend? She’s so beautiful."
"This girl is beautiful, but it seems I’ve never seen her before. I wonder which family’s daughter she is."
"They seem to be quite a match."
"This girl probably isn’t from any prominent family, right? Is she a match for Young Master Grant’s status?"
"..."
The discussions were relentless, with both good-natured and malicious remarks.
"Whoa, I was being too hasty. Earlier, we were joking about Stella."
"I really didn’t expect her to be Young Master Grant’s girlfriend."
"Good thing we didn’t say too much bad stuff, otherwise, offending this girl wouldn’t be good."
"I never imagined Young Master Grant would like this type."
"Too hasty."
"..."
The people sitting at the same table as Holly all cast incredulous looks at her.
They were also relieved they hadn’t said much, otherwise, it would not have ended well.
"Have you had lunch?"
Just after lunch, Leo looked at Holly and asked.
Not knowing if the little girl was hungry, he was really afraid she would go hungry.
"I ate, right here."
Holly blinked, speaking softly.
"I told you to call me when you arrived, why didn’t you listen?"
Leo reached out, gently ruffled Holly’s hair, reprimanding her slightly.
The little girl never listens, she didn’t call him, if he hadn’t called, would she have just hidden away?
"I was afraid of bothering you, and thought I’d wait until after eating to text you."
Holly took out her phone, opened her chat with Leo, and showed it to him, revealing unfinished text.
"Silly girl, at any time, you’ll never bother me."
Leo gently shook his head, saying.
In his heart, Holly is very important, so no matter when, she’d never be a bother.
Holly nodded, "Okay."
"Whoa, whoa, they really look super sweet."
"This dog food is too much, I’m a bit overwhelmed."
"He’s so doting, I feel like Young Master Grant’s gaze is full of this girl."
"Their visuals together are top-notch, I’m really shipping this couple."
The chatter never ceased.
Cecilia Bennett sent a message to Holly and quietly left, staying here any longer held no purpose.
She was there to accompany Holly, and now that Leo was with her, there was no need for her to stay.
At the banquet, she didn’t know many people. Having been abroad for many years, people in Arkenfall became unfamiliar, though many faces were recognizable, they were now strangers.
"Grandpa, Holly’s here."
Leo led Holly to meet Elder Grant.
Elder Grant was seated in the living room, playing chess and drinking tea with some old men, enjoying himself thoroughly.
"Oh, Holly’s here, come sit by Grandpa."
Seeing Holly, Elder Grant’s eyes turned into slits from smiling, patting the seat next to him, inviting her to sit by his side.
"Hello, Grandpa."
Holly politely greeted Elder Grant, then sat beside him.
Appearing by Elder Grant’s side as a doctor versus as a granddaughter-in-law felt entirely different.
The first felt calm, the second slightly nerve-wracking.
"This is Leo’s girlfriend, Holly. This young girl’s medical skills are excellent..."
Elder Grant took Holly’s hand, introducing her to his friends, genuinely liking her from the bottom of his heart.
Praising Holly’s virtues constantly, it felt like he was boasting.
"The girl is both pretty and skilled."
"Mr. Grant is really fortunate, having such a good granddaughter-in-law."
"I’m getting envious."
The old men cast envious glances at Mr. Grant alongside Elder Grant, nodding at Holly.
Playing chess with Elder Grant were three old men as well.
One was Noah Raines’ grandfather, Old Man Raines, another was Nathaniel Shaw’s grandfather, Old Man Shaw, and the other was Kayla Bennett’s grandfather, Old Man Bennett.
"I’m envious of Mr. Bennett too, his granddaughter is getting married in a couple of days to a Lynch family child, such good fortune."
Elder Grant said with a chuckle.
"Alas, such a pity..."
Old Man Shaw sighed after hearing this, his tone carrying some regret.
Seeing as the Shaw and Bennett families had a good relationship, the kids got along well since childhood, he’d thought they might become in-laws, but it wasn’t to be.
His grandson had given up on the family business to become a forensic pathologist, no persuasion worked.
"We can’t interfere in the children’s matters."
Old Man Bennett shook his head, saying.
He initially favored Nathaniel Shaw, but since it didn’t work out, he regretted it for a while.
Having aged, he didn’t meddle in these things anymore, but knew that Kayla’s mother didn’t approve of her relationship with Nathaniel.
"My Noah has yet to show any signs, really don’t know when I can hold a great-grandchild."
Old Man Raines also sighed, his tone filled with deep lament.
In their time, love and marriage were different; marriages were based on parental decisions and matchmakers.
Now it’s all about free love, and the kids’ matters have to be left to them.
Holly sat quietly listening to the old men’s conversation, silent, just listening attentively.
