The Soft-Hearted Wife of Mr. Big Shot-Chapter 218: Not Scary at All
The plot of the movie was a bit scary, filled with screams and exclamations in the theater, but Holly Sawyer was quite calm. She calmly stuffed popcorn into her mouth, not feeling the slightest bit anxious.
In stark contrast to everyone else’s fear.
"Holly, I’m scared."
Leo Grant suddenly grabbed Holly Sawyer’s hand, his head leaning towards Holly, clutching tightly, his body pressed close to hers.
Holly paused with the popcorn in her hand, calmly watching Leo, then stuffed the popcorn into Leo’s mouth.
"Scared of what? Just watch the movie."
Holly lightly tapped Leo’s forehead, speaking casually.
Though Leo said he was scared, he didn’t sound scared at all; despite clinging closely to her, he didn’t convey fear.
He was obviously doing it on purpose, pretending to be scared to get closer, and faking it all.
"Didn’t you say you wanted to see what I look like scared, Holly? Well, I have to act it out well."
Leo reacted with a knowing smile, slowly speaking, his tone harboring tenderness.
Holly had expressed a desire to see him genuinely scared, so of course, he had to comply, although the effect seemed lacking.
He had no talent for acting; it didn’t seem real, and Holly saw through it immediately.
"What I meant was to see you genuinely scared, not acting scared."
"Also, if you’re going to pretend, at least make it believable, alright? Your acting skills are terrible."
Holly continued to stuff popcorn into her mouth, speaking slowly, giving Leo an accusing look.
Even if he acted just a bit better, it wouldn’t be so easily exposed. This level of acting is unmatched.
"Yes, yes, my acting isn’t as good as Holly’s. I can’t compare at all."
Leo nodded repeatedly, sincerely looking at Holly, with genuine emotion in his eyes.
Holly: "..."
Wow, he’s teasing her.
Claiming her acting was so good before that she almost fooled him.
"I notice you’re teasing me now."
Holly didn’t look at Leo, her gaze fixed on the big screen, speaking slowly.
Initially, Leo agreed with everything she said, even his speech; afraid she’d be unhappy.
Now?
Though he still went along with her, speechwise, he enjoyed teasing her.
Leo looked innocently at Holly: "No, I’m not."
"You are!"
Holly asserted, glaring at Leo.
The two started arguing in the theater, going back and forth on the topic, neither willing to yield.
"Hey, this is a horror movie, you’re not scared and still fighting here, is that really okay?"
"Yeah, aren’t you scared at all?"
Nobody sat beside Leo or Holly; in front sat two girls, who, after listening to Leo and Holly for a few minutes, turned back to speak.
The two girls were scared and huddled together, yet the couple behind was having an enjoyable argument.
Do they not understand the charm of a young couple, or are Holly and Leo truly fearless?
Anyway, from start to finish, they hadn’t heard screams from behind, just conversations.
"Sorry about that."
Holly felt apologetic about it.
"I find it quite entertaining, but not too scary; the makeup looks rather fake, and the timing isn’t right."
Pausing for a moment, Holly continued, evaluating the film calmly, staring at the screen, continuously stuffing popcorn in her mouth.
"Ah!!!"
A sudden creepy scene unfolds; the two girls in front are petrified, hurriedly clutching each other.
Holly: "..."
Was that really necessary?
Holly’s gaze was fixed on the screen; she blinked, not finding it frightening.
After the horrifying scene, the two girls turned back to give Holly thumbs up.
"You’re amazing; you’re not scared at all."
"Miss, you’re really brave, give me some of that courage!"
"Do you have any tricks to train for bravery, miss? We’d love to learn from you to build our courage."
"It’s the first time we realized girls can be so bold."
The two girls praised Holly, amazed at how she watched calmly, without any emotional fluctuations, staying composed.
They couldn’t believe a girl could be so bold; they admitted their envy and wished for such courage.
Leo wasn’t scared, which is expected as a guy being braver is normal, but girls typically tend to be more fearful.
Holly just smiled silently, she’s not even scared watching people die before her, why fear these fake things?
Of course not.
"My Holly is really brave."
Leo gently ruffled Holly’s hair, speaking softly, his voice tender and gentle.
He had imagined Holly diving into his arms, shaking with fear, pleading "brother, I’m scared."
Seems his thoughts didn’t materialize, the young lady was calmly chewing popcorn without a flinch. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
"Not really."
Holly mumbled, her mouth stuffed with popcorn.
Doesn’t feel that brave, she didn’t have such a feeling.
"I thought..."
Leo stopped short, not finishing the sentence.
"Stop thinking that way; you won’t find such a moment."
Holly gave Leo a look.
She understood Leo’s intentions.
Like those newly dating couples, where the guy enjoys taking the girl to horror movies, prompting her to be scared and cling to him.
It helps couples bond and heat up their relationship.
However, Holly Sawyer doesn’t fear such things.
"My darling is, of course, exceptional."
Leo chuckled softly.
He merely thought about it initially, knowing well that Holly is exceedingly brave. Unless she’s pretending, she wouldn’t be scared by such movie scenes.
"Of course."
Holly immediately felt proud, naturally being unique.
The movie soon ended; hand in hand, Leo and Holly left the cinema, neither displaying much emotion.
Others exiting were discussing the plot, commenting on scary parts and expressing opinions about the movie.
Basically, they felt the movie was terrifying, that they were frightened.
Holly appeared particularly composed, holding her drink and continuously biting her straw.
"Don’t you think we’re out of place?"
Leo wrapped Holly in his arms, chuckling lightly.
While everyone else discussed the scary plot, only the two of them remained calm, unfazed by the movie’s terror.
