Chapter 58: Back to the Mainland

For the succeeding 30 minutes, Henry felt that his improvements had suddenly shot up once again. And even though it was true that he was undergoing a lot of pain while he was being beaten, he never withdrew.

He received the motivation that there was a family that was waiting for him somewhere, and for that reason, he had to get even stronger than he currently was.

[Your 1 hour period ends in 10 seconds.]

Those words appeared in front of him, finally bringing Henry out of his own world, where he was already so focused into fighting. He couldn’t help but wonder how the 1 hour period had ended swiftly this time.

All the same, after 10 seconds countdown, Henry felt that his surroundings were twisting, and before he knew it, he was suddenly back on the yacht.

At that moment, only a single second had gone by. But still, Henry could fill the changes that his body had undergone. At this moment, he felt that the energy present in his body was now easier to control than before.

Therefore, he felt that if he met himself one second ago, he would definitely be able to thrash himself effortlessly. He couldn’t help but be amazed by the abilities of the system.

It was also at this moment that Adam finally came into the room where Henry was. He had brought food. And without any other word, the two of them began eating together just like how they had always done.

"Henry, how much are you hiding from me? I never knew that you could actually steer a yacht. At least a car, I can relate because we had always been trying to drive it even though we were young back then.

But what about the yacht? Even though it is true that we have gone to a yacht several times, you have never tried to steer it before." Adam said all of this as he looked at Henry.

He had suddenly come to a realization that he could not actually understand Henry at all. Although the two of them had spent several years together, he came to a realization that ever since the apocalypse descended, Henry had been getting way stranger, and he knew nothing much about him since then.

"I’m not hiding that much from you. It is just that this thing that seems so little, that I’m hiding from you, is way bigger." Henry replied.

Adam could only shake his head as he realized that Henry wasn’t going to talk about the matter. And as he knew Henry’s personality well, since Henry wasn’t going to say anything about it, it didn’t matter if he begged him or not, because Henry wasn’t going to say even a word.

"We are approaching Crystal City. Although I don’t know what is going on there currently, I believe that we have to be ready for wheterver thing we might face ahead of us." Henry said as he looked at the visage of a city that had appeared in one of the screens in front of him.

At this moment, Olivia and Sarah had already arrived. They could feel their hearts pounding, because after a long period of time, they were finally going back to the mainland.

The group said nothing at all, and they continued watching as the visage grew bigger and bigger.

And as they approached the city, Henry couldn’t help but feel somehow regretful. After all, he had spent his mutation crystals to upgrade this yacht, but he was going to be forced to abandon it.

Even if he wanted to store it in the idle space, the yacht was too big as it would not fit in that space. But still, he hoped that at least, even if he left it in the sea, perhaps there might be a time that he would need it and would be able to find it.

He had already spent all the mutation crystals that he possessed to purchase skill scrolls, armors, weapons, and other items. This was done before the 24-hour period from the system ended.

Now, inside the system inventory, Henry possessed numerous three star skills and equipment. And of course, he did not purchase the ones that belonged to only one profession, but two different professions.

Either the supporting professions or the combat professions, he had purchased them all. Since he was planning to recruit people into his team, then, they would have to possess quality equipment.

After about 20 minutes, they began approaching the dock. And it was also at this moment that the sun began rising. At least, ever since the descent of the apocalypse, this was the first time that they were seeing the sunlight.

As Henry looked at the screens, he suddenly realized that there was something wrong. Although he could not see things clearly as they were actually a little distance away from the city, he could still see that there was a lot of chaos present there.

"Are those zombies? Are we actually going into a fantasy world?!" Adam exclaimed in surprise as he looked at the human figures that were staggering around aimlessly.

From the screens, they could see that there were several areas where these zombies were pursuing both humans and monsters.

"There wasn’t even a single day that I had thought that, these things that we always see in movies could actually become reality." At this moment, Olivia stated solemnly.

It was already challenging that they had to deal with a group of monsters. But now, added to the equation, was actually a group of zombies. These creatures that did not feel pain, and neither possessed any emotions.

"But at least, they are not on the same side as the monsters. Otherwise, the human race would actually have an even low chance of getting to the top of the food chain once again." Sarah stated.

That was the point that everyone agreed on. Although they were facing a catastrophe after another, at least, the two catastrophes were not actually collaborating with one another.

Henry controlled the yacht and finally managed to anchor it. The good thing about the yacht was that, it did not make alot of noise noise. And for that reason, they were not able to attract a large group of zombies.

But of course, there were a few zombies that had been in the surrounding areas, and had already begun approaching the yacht.

The group couldn’t help but shake their heads the moment that they realize that, these zombies were actually charging towards the yacht, but they completely ignored that they could not walk in the water.

Splash! Splash!

And so, the group witnessed a scene of several zombies jumping into the water one after the other.

"Whew! At least they cannot swim." Adam released a sign of relief when he realized that these zombies simply waved their limbs around the moment that they fell into the water. And in no time, they sank to the bottom.

Of course, the yacht would have already attacked using the offensive system, but Henry had already prevented that. Any loud noise would easily attract a large group of zombies.

"That’s it. Let’s try and find somewhere that doesn’t have a large population." Henry said as he looked at the map. Although the map presented several paths that a yacht could follow, at least, there was also a map of Crystal City.

"Let’s move to the eastern side. That is the area that has the least population in this city. So, I will assume that the number of zombies present there is also low." Olivia stated.

"You have been here before?" Sarah asked in surprise.

"My father brought me here." Olivia said. At the same time, she had a displeased expression on her face, as if she didn’t want to remember something.

"Oh." Sarah nodded her head in response.

"If that is the case, then that is good. At least, we have a guide." Adam said as he looked at the map. At the same time, he had also realized that the number of settlements present on the eastern side of the city was actually the least.

Olivia simply glared at him, but she did not say anything else. She simply snorted, to express her dissatisfaction about being called a guide.

The group then finally disembarked from the yacht. And the moment that they set foot on the gangway, a group of three zombies suddenly charged towards them. This was the group of zombies that had yet to jump into the water, as they had just arrived.

"Humph! Your grandpa! I’m just coming back home, and instead of welcoming me happily, you are actually trying to attack me and kill me? Or perhaps do you want to eat me? So, eat my axe!" Adam glared at the three zombies that were charging forward and said with an ugly expression on his face.

The next moment, with an axe in his hand, he stepped forward and readying himself to cut down the zombie that approached him first.

But before he could even do anything, he suddenly felt something getting past him. And in the next moment, the zombies suddenly melted and fell onto the ground in a puddle of blood.

Adam blinked his eyes in surprise, before turning back and realized that it was Sarah who had just attacked.

"What skill is that?" Adam asked.

"Purify. This is the skill that Henry gave me back at the facility before the second monster wave came." Sarah replied nonchalantly.

She wasn’t surprised that Adam didn’t notice the effect of the skill. After all, once that guy went berserk, he wouldn’t care about the details around him.

Additionally, when she used the skill on the monsters, they did not melt like the zombies. Instead, they simply roared in pain before falling on to the ground dead.

"This guy is a muscle brain. He knows that we don’t have to attract even more zombies just because we want to deal with three zombies, but he wants to attack using an axe." Olivia snorted.

Adam: "?!?!!"
