Chapter 96: Xavier’s Fate

Nobody had been expecting something like this to happen. It just happened abruptly, that, everyone who had been focused on fighting, and had just begun paying attention to the undead, was suddenly surprised to find that the undead suddenly split into two.

While Olivia and the others began thinking that perhaps this was the undead, trying to multiply itself, the Necromancer on the other hand felt his heart almost rushing through his mouth.

The horror in his eyes was visible, as he did not expect that the undead that he had used as a surmountable amount of energy to summon, had suddenly been killed. He could already tell that the undead had already passed away considering that he had lost the connection that he was having with it.

And, at the undead fell onto the ground, another figure appeared behind it. It was a young man with black hair, and brown eyes. His expression was currently cold, as he stared at the Necromancer.

Even though he had been expecting that there was something wrong, he did not expect that after the storm, the second change that was going to occur was the appearance of the necromancers.

He had already seen the stats panel containing the information about the necromancer in front of him. He had already noticed that he was from the dark race. And currently, other than humans and monsters, even the zombies did not have a race of their own.

"Who are you? What is this? This cannot be happening! Humans are not supposed to be this strong." Rather than anger, the Necromancer felt fear as he looked at Henry. He had not expected that the undead that he had spent a lot of energy to bring, had been killed with just a single slash.

Of course, Henry had just arrived at the scene. It was just that, as he was passing by, trying to look for any traces of either Sarah, Olivia, or Diana and Storm, he suddenly felt that the connection that he possessed with the summoned creatures had already returned.

And since he realized that he was way closer to where they were, he did not summon them. After all, he did not know about the situation that they were currently in. So, he immediately hurried over, as just from the connection that they shared, he could tell that they were engaged in a fight.

The moment that he arrived, he encountered the undead that was just summoned. From the stats panel, he could already see the data of the undead. It was then that he realized that, this undead was not yet at its peak.

Since it had just been summoned, it needed some time to be able to use the strength that it possessed. Not willing to give it a chance, considering that he was not even sure that he could take care of it after it was at its full strength, Henry attacked.

Without any hesitation, he used power surge and mountain splinter at the same time. So, the sharpness of the Raging Fire Flood Sword was tremendously increased, while at the same time, the damage that was dealt by him was multiplied three times.

That was the reason as to why he was able to take down the undead with just a single slash. Otherwise, he was not even sure if the attack that he had launched would have dealt with the undead completely, if it was allowed to be at an optimized condition.

[Congratulations. You have reached the second level of the Bronze rank in the warlock profession.]

Henry was slightly surprised when he leveled up. But, considering that the undead that he had killed was at level 6, it could be said that it was to be expected. After all, he had killed an apocalyptic creature that was five levels ahead of him.

After he had dealt with the undead, Henry looked towards the necromancer. Since he knew that the necromancer had to be dealt with as soon as possible to eliminate the skeleton warriors, he decided to attack.

But alas, he was not given a chance. Olivia had already seized the chance, during the time that the Necromancer was still surprised and frustrated that Henry had dealt with the undead that he was treating as his trump card.

Without giving the Necromancer who had already spent a lot of energy during the raising procedure of the undead, she slashed with her sword that was covered in ice.

She immediately went for the heart, considering that even after a long time of injuring the necromancer, he had not fallen.

The Necromancer only reacted after he had been stabbed. He looked at Olivia with despair in his eyes. He had not expected that not only was he not going to dominate the city, but he was also killed here.

He really wanted to attack Olivia as the last and final attempt, at least, even if he was going to die, to take her with him. But, Olivia utilized the teleportation skill, and teleported 20 m away from him, swiftly evading the scythe.

With the sword that was embedded in his heart taken away, the necromancer suddenly felt that his life force had begun depleting.

He pointed shakily towards Olivia and the others as he said in a trembling voice, "My master is going to deal with you. You are never going to escape from getting dominated and being turned into undead warriors. That is the fate of..."

Alas, before he could even finish what he was saying, an arrow that was made from wind element suddenly pierced through his head. And with that, the necromancer’s life ended.

Plag! Plag!

The sound of Bones colliding with each other rang into the air as all the skeleton warriors that were in the surroundings collapsed onto the ground. Without their master, the one who was giving them the ability to continue moving, they became a pile of bones.

"Master!" Diana went towards Henry and gave him a slight bow. She was not the only one as even Storm came over, even though he could not talk, Henry would understand him using the connection that the three of them shared.

As Diana went ahead to inform him about what had happened, Henry looked towards Jasmine. Currently, Jasmine was looking at her brother, who was completely stunned and scared.

Xavier had never thought that he had joined a force that was supposed to be stronger, but in the end, the force that he had joined, expecting to rise up in the ranks, and become powerful in the future, was suddenly eliminated even before they completed what had brought them over.

And currently, facing his sister’s cold eyes, he felt his body trembling. At the same time, he began retreating step by step, but still, he knew that if his sister wanted to deal with him, there was no way that he was going to evade her.

At the end of the day, she was not the only one here, as everyone else here other than Henry had seen him being on the side of the necromancers.

But still, he was not willing to give up. He was still willing to leave, become unbridled, full of freedom. What he was thinking of right now was to find a way of getting out of this situation.

His eyes suddenly lit up as he looked at his sister, and said, "Sister, thank heavens that you have dealt with this group of evil. I was forced to do this, it was never my intention to bring them over. If I dared to go against them, then they were going to kill me."

Jasmine shook her head as she looked at her younger brother. Had it been before, then perhaps, she might have listened to him, and forgiven him. But now, it was completely different.

Just from the reaction that Xavier had when she was staring at him, was enough to tell her that, he was never forced to do what he did, but rather, he did it intentionally.

Additionally, during the time that he was yelling at her, she could feel the sincerity in his words. So, there was no way that Xavier was going to make a fool out of her.

"You know, we have always cared about you, trying to make sure that you don’t go in the wrong path. But still, we always believed that Since you are young, you are bound to make several mistakes. That was the reason why we have always been lenient with you." Jasmine said as she looked at her brother who was not even willing to approach her.

She felt bitter in her heart, because right now, she was looking at her younger brother, the person that she had watched as he grew up, however, the very same person that was willing to betray her for benefits.

She had lost her mother just one day ago, but now, even her brother, the one that she cared about the most, had suddenly decided to go against her, betraying her trust.

"But you have to know, there are mistakes that don’t give you a second chance. You only have one chance, and if you mess up, then you’re done with." As she reached this point, Jasmine’s determination grew.

In the next moment, she began mobilizing the energy that was left in her body, as lightning began flashing on her hand.

When he saw this, Xavier’s eyes widened in horror. He had already seen what his sister could do with the lightning during the fight. Since he was not being attacked, he had all the freedom to watch as the fight progressed.

"Sister, you can’t be thinking about..."

Crackle! Boom!
