The Supreme Soldier in the City-Chapter 566 - 578: Going on a Business Trip
Chapter 566: Chapter 578: Going on a Business Trip
In the past, James Brown’s flings didn’t count; those were just silly antics, nothing significant. But when he was with Charlotte and Emma Campbell, those two young girls really made him savor an indescribably delightful experience. Although James managed to keep some rationality with Charlotte, when it came to Emma, he was utterly carefree.
Earlier, he was with Alice Brown, and even though she wasn’t a virgin, James didn’t mind. After all, girls like Gina Lopez, who reach twenty-five or twenty-six without having dated a boyfriend, are definitely the minority. And nowadays, when girls have boyfriends, it’s rare that they don’t have a sexual relationship.
While virginity is considered a symbol of purity, to truly talk about the joy of intimacy, mature women are more alluring. Like Alice Brown and Jennifer Hog, both are naturally beautiful, and being hosts adds an extra charm and elegance. Just entertaining the idea of a threesome with them is thrilling to imagine.
Yet James Brown said to Laura, "Laura, I definitely don’t have time today. I still need to head back to the office. In a few days, I’ll definitely come over; within a week. If I don’t, you can come to the office and catch me. How about that?"
"Big Brother Brown, I’m not trying to pressure you. I’m just anxious. You already did it with Alice, which makes me jealous. When she gets home at night, she’s definitely going to show off, which will just make it unbearable for me."
James Brown laughed, "Then just ignore her."
Relaxed now, James chatted and laughed with Alice and Laura until they reached the city, at which point he hung up the phone.
After stopping the car, James instructed Alice about some things and then took a cab back to the company. At work, as the security manager, few people bothered to ask anything of him unless Gina Lopez needed him. frёewebηovel.cѳm
Alice Brown returned the car to the T District, where the owner was waiting at the Public Security Bureau. It was an unexpected situation today. When he explained the situation, the police acknowledged the possibility but didn’t know who could have done such a thing.
When Alice returned the car, she naturally had to provide a statement. She recounted what James had taught her, saying it was an unknown policeman. She said she was following him to scoop some news, but the situation became urgent, and the officer got out of the car, leaving her with no choice but to bring the car back.
With Alice’s reputation here, her words carried weight. Plus, the whole system was in a bit of a mess, so the incident just faded away, unresolved.
James Brown got back to the company, turned on his phone, and heard a string of alert tones. Seeing the numbers, he found they were all from Gina Lopez. He immediately returned the call.
"Come to my office," Gina said, hanging up right after.
James Brown hurried to Gina’s office, closed the door, and smiled, "What’s up? You called me so many times."
Gina stood in front of James, sniffed closely, and, wrinkling her nose, said, "Who did you meet this time?"
James felt a pang of guilt but couldn’t reveal his outing with Alice. He chuckled, "I happened to witness a major kidnapping case outside and ran into Alice. We snapped some footage together, so I might have her scent on me."
Listening to James’ explanation, Gina didn’t doubt him and gave him a sidelong glance, adjusting his collar, "Honey, I won’t hold your past against you, so just settle down."
James nodded repeatedly, "Yes, haven’t you noticed I haven’t even gone out lately?"
Gina leaned in and kissed James on the cheek, "My husband is doing well now. Keep up the good work."
James wrapped an arm around Gina’s waist, winked, and asked, "Honey, do we have anything to do this afternoon? Maybe we can just..."
"No, no!" Gina immediately pushed James away, her face flushed, glancing at James with embarrassment. Though they had been intimate at home regularly, she dared not act recklessly in the office.
James chuckled, "I know you’re shy, so what did you call me for?"
Gina playfully punched James and snapped, "You scared me! You’re so annoying. The company needs to purchase a batch of items, and I’m concerned Sarah Utah can’t handle it alone, so I want you to accompany her."
"Accompany her?" James looked at Gina, confused, "Don’t you know Sarah Utah has feelings for me? And yet you want me to go on a business trip with her?"
Gina huffed, "Of course, I know. But this task is crucial, and I don’t trust other people to handle it. Besides, consider this a test for you. If you can’t pass even this test, then I’ll kick you out."
James laughed heartily, "I’ll certainly withstand the organization’s test."
Gina smiled, "I might be worried about others, but not Sarah. Even though she likes you, she’s always had boundaries. So, I know even if you try to take advantage, Sarah wouldn’t agree."
By now, James was equally well aware of Sarah Utah. This girl, though deeply affectionate, always managed to control her emotions, never causing trouble for James. Furthermore, she admired Gina so much that she wouldn’t commit any act of betrayal against her.
Just then, there was a knock at the door. Gina called out for the person to come in, and Sarah Utah entered, first greeting Gina before giving James a glance.
"Manager Michael, please sit," Gina invited Sarah to take a seat. Sarah sat next to James, keeping a respectable distance.
Gina directly announced, "Manager Michael, this time you’ll be going to the V Region with James. You’ll be in charge of everything, and James will only be there to assist."
Sarah looked surprised, "I’m going with Big Brother Brown?"
"Yes, James is relatively free in the company. And since this purchase is both high-value and requires travel out of town, I wouldn’t feel secure with anyone else, so I’m having James accompany you."
Sarah stole a glance at James, bit her lip, and resolutely assured, "Mr. Lopez, don’t worry, I’ll handle this matter well and won’t disappoint you."
Her words had a double meaning, which both Gina and James understood clearly. Gina smiled gently, "Of course, I trust you. Alright, let’s set that as the plan. Prepare today, and the two of you will set off tomorrow. Any details can be sorted out between you two."
Sarah stood up quickly, nodding vigorously with excitement.
James and Sarah left Gina’s office together. Once outside, James smiled at Sarah, "Manager Michael, I’m lucky to be tagging along this time, enjoying a company-funded trip."
Sarah sweetly replied, "Big Brother Brown, you’re really funny. This trip is for serious business, and there probably won’t be much time for leisure." But in her heart, she thought, going on a business trip with James felt almost as delightful as a vacation.
They arrived at Sarah’s office, where she meticulously discussed the purchasing tasks with James.
This time, they were to procure machinery worth over fifty million, a significant acquisition for the company. Gina entrusted the task to Sarah, showing her deep trust. Sarah dared not be careless, even putting her private feelings aside when alone with James, prioritizing her work first.
The machinery was specialized and could only be manufactured at a large factory in the V Region. Their primary task was to understand the factory, ascertain the machinery’s real value, and finally secure the best price possible.
Since Sarah was serious, James followed suit with equal seriousness, unlike usual when Sarah gazed at him affectionately. This made him feel more at ease.
By the end of the afternoon, they had nearly completed their research. After work, James returned home, where Gina reminded him again, without dwelling on his matters with Sarah.
This made James appreciate Gina’s tolerance, having such a wife truly made him feel blessed.
Emily Lopez was not at all happy about James going on a business trip. She pouted, with a very displeased look on her face.
Gina saw Emily’s expression and, both annoyed and amused, asked, "Why such a face when your Brother-in-law is on a business trip?"
Emily huffed, "With Brother-in-law gone, who’s going to cook for us? I don’t even like eating out anymore. And at night, there’s no one to massage my feet. Besides, aren’t you afraid that Sarah will steal his heart while they’re away together?"
Gina turned to James and replied, "If your Brother-in-law’s heart could be so easily stolen, it would’ve happened countless times already."
James awkwardly cleared his throat, being the one to be unfaithful, entangled with several women. Gina’s words only left him to endure it silently.
And tonight, he still had to go out. He’d need to check on Helen Wilson, as this girl had left him feeling uneasy. He wouldn’t rest until he clarified the situation.
