The Swapped Master's Bride And Her Bad Luck System.-Chapter 41: The expert!
Liwu shrugged. "I can’t say that it was funny or annoying. It was just bizarre! I have never met her before so I had no idea what to expect. I did not even think that I would meet her within the first week of being married because she has not been seen in public for years."
Linlin honked, loudly, while cursing.
Liwu waited for the thirty second road rage in her partner to cool down and then continued, "I will say this for sure, she is kind of a great actress away from the screen. She has the Shen family eating out of the palm of her hands. If I had not threatened them with my bad luck, she would have moved in by now."
Linlin threw her head back, laughing loudly. Threatening her in-laws!, that sounded like Liwu.
"As for your predictions on my in-laws, I am still reserving judgement on that. My mother-in-law is a bit of a shrew, but she doesn’t bother me anymore. My sisters-in-law don’t talk to me unless they must and it is the same for my brothers-in-law. Overall, as long as we maintain the peace, we can all live well until the day of my divorce."
Linlin stepped on the brake, causing it to protest loudly. This was not just because Liwu had announced her divorce, it was also because they had arrived at the precinct, near the harbor.
It was beginning to take shape outside, with three dozen SOB vehicles and thirty motorcycles parked outside. A construction crew was working on putting in a short fence around the area.
"Divorce." Linlin shouted as soon as they both stepped out of the car. "Are you out of mind? Do you know how lucky you were to catch a husband with your bad luck? Give me your hand, I need to read your fate and see if there is a divorce in your future and how it will affect you."
Liwu shook her head. "I am not doing that anymore. I think I would like to be more surprised by what life throws at me instead of holding my breath and waiting for everything to explode." 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
They stepped through the scanner and saluted at the officers at the door. Sadly for Linlin, this was the moment for personal talk to be paused as they had a suspect to question.

The interrogation room smelled of fresh lime and new wax, with a hint of coffee. Liwu and Linlin sat across the table from the janitor that had been arrested. He was nervous, shaking his leg as if he suffered from some kind of illness. His hands and feet were cuffed to the table.
"Still still." Liwu commanded. "We already have your identity, Shi Yu." She turned her gaze on the man. "Let’s get to it directly. you stole these diamonds. Why?"
Shi Yu swallowed hard. "I did not..."
Liwu slapped the table. "Hey, don’t waste time denying it. Your fingerprints will be found all over the pouch. We have you on camera coming out of the room next to Batian’s. It has been confirmed that you accessed his room through the vent. If you give me answers while I am asking politely, I will not have to call in an expert with a system to dig through through your mind and leave you paralyzed."
There was no such thing, but many people believed it to be so.
Shi Yu was one of those people. "Look, I didn’t steal them for myself. I only took what I was ordered to."
Linlin nodded, speaking softly, "Was it your boss? The boss of the Snake head gang?"
Shi Yu winced. "Yes. But I don’t know who the boss is. I am a low level guy, I just go where I am told. I did not mean to kill the cat, I have never killed before. It just followed me into the vent. I did not even notice until it was too late. What was I supposed to do? I could not just let it go back. I don’t know anything else. Even if your expert comes, they will not get anything else out of me."
Liwu was sure that there was more to the story and she did not need an expert when she had a system. It was time to spend some points.
"Twenty points. System, create a minor misfortune that can scare him into talking."
The system chimed in her mind. [Minor Misfortune triggered.]
Instantly, the ceramic cup of coffee on that table shattered, some hot liquid sprayed on Shi Yu’s face. He yelped, pushing his body back. The light above his head made a fizzing sound, as if it was about to break as well.
"The expert has arrived." Liwu said mysteriously.
Shi Yu broke. "Fine! I will tell you everything! The gang has a hideout here in the harbor, beneath the dye house. They smuggle some things in the bolts of cloth. We were supposed to take the diamonds there. Its the one with crimson and indigo cloth outside, the colors of the gang."
Liwu smirked. "Finally, we have the location of a snake head gang den."
Linlin smiled. "All hail the expert."
They left the interrogation room, chuckling.
"I have to know how you did that." Linlin latched onto Liwu. "Usually, when coffee splashes, you are the victim. How are we leaving the room with you dry and the suspect wet?"
Liwu shrugged. "Bad luck works in mysterious ways and today, it is working in our favor."
Within an hour, Liwu led a squad of SOB officers in tactical gear through the narrow streets of an alley in the harbor. There were six dye houses in the area, but only one which had indigo and crimson cloth drying outside.
"Remember," Liwu said, "we want to take as many of the members of the gang alive. Stay sharp."
Even as she talked, she could feel her bad luck pulsing ominously. The mission would not go as smooth as she desired, not unless she used her points to make the bad luck work in her favor.
She drew in a deep breath and relaxed her fists. "System, I want to spend sixty bad luck points. Convert misfortune to fortune."
As soon as the system confirmed the transaction, she took her first step inside, stepping right into a vat of purple dye that had been left in the entrance!
