Chapter 977: Chapter 977: 5 Eccentric Flowers Sending Nerves

The Blind Mountain Five Tigers, who were charging towards Jing Yan, suddenly seemed nailed to the ground. Although their bodies maintained a running posture, they appeared completely frozen, unable to move.

The red palm seal above their heads suddenly whistled down upon them.

"Damn it, what’s happening?" the leader’s eyes darted around. He wanted to speak but found he couldn’t open his mouth. Then he attempted to communicate with his brothers using Divine Thought, but quickly discovered that even his Divine Thought couldn’t leave his body.

"Why can’t I move?" thought the Second.

"We’re done for; we’ve encountered another powerful one," the third brother’s face turned pale.

"Why are we so unlucky? We, the Blind Mountain Five Tigers, are feared overlords in our realm!" Fourth thought to himself.

"Miscalculation, miscalculation. There’s no treasure here, just a formidable guy waiting for us. Damn, he must have known we’d come and deliberately set a trap for us," Lao Wu stared heavily at Jing Yan.

"Boom!"

As the red palm seal descended, the five members of the Blind Mountain Five Tigers were immediately and fiercely pressed into the ground. They struggled with all their might, but at their One-star Void God Level of cultivation, how could they possibly escape in front of Jing Yan?

Mei Qing’s large eyes widened, staring dazedly at Jing Yan.

What kind of power was this?

Mei Qing could never have anticipated that Jing Yan’s ability would be this strong. If she’d known that Jing Yan could easily crush a One-star Void God, she might not have dared to invite Jing Yan. She only believed that Jing Yan’s strength wouldn’t surpass her own, which is why she dared to invite him to train here together.

Now...

Mei Qing’s mind was a tangled mess of thoughts.

In just one move, Jing Yan had suppressed five One-star Void Gods so thoroughly that they couldn’t move. This was something even an average two-star Void God couldn’t achieve, suggesting that Jing Yan was possibly a Three-star Void God.

Oh heavens! A Three-star Void God...

In past selection assessments, a Three-star Void God would unquestionably rank among the top few hundred. Remember, no one participating in the selection assessment could be over 5,000 years old. A Three-star Void God under 5,000 was undoubtedly a genius in the God Realm.

A genius like this joining the Four Great Divine Palaces would certainly be specially nurtured and focused on.

Jing Yan looked at the Blind Mountain Five Tigers sprawled on the ground and felt torn between laughter and frustration. These five were truly peculiar.

Jing Yan, however, bore no murderous intent towards them. He could sense that, despite everything, these five harbored no real murderous intent. They likely weren’t the kind who committed great evils. At the very least, they hadn’t taken many lives. Had they done so, they wouldn’t have escaped Jing Yan’s perception.

Moreover, this was Layered Mountain of the Luo Jiu Divine Palace, and Luo Jiu Divine Palace did not tolerate random killings. Fights, territory disputes, sure—but if anyone died, Luo Jiu Divine Palace would certainly intervene.

Jing Yan withdrew his Divine Power a bit, allowing the Blind Mountain Five Tigers to speak.

"Spare us, master!"

"Sir, it’s our fault for not recognizing someone so mighty, please forgive us!"

"..."

Once the Blind Mountain Five Tigers could speak, they immediately began sobbing and pleading.

These five were quite bizarre. As soon as they saw they were outmatched, they begged for mercy without any sense of pride.

Still, although these five were somewhat detestable and had done some bad things, they weren’t truly ruthless by nature. They all came from a small place called Blind Mountain. This time, they entered Luo Jiu Divine Palace to sign up for the selection examination not because they truly intended to join, but just to have a look around.

"Do you five realize you intruded here and offended me?" Jing Yan asked in a severe tone.

"Yes, yes, we offended you, but you’re generous, please don’t hold it against us," the leader of the Blind Mountain Five Tigers pleaded.

Jing Yan pondered for a moment and then withdrew his Divine Power and the Power of Laws.

Once the Blind Mountain Five Tigers noticed the force restraining them disappear, they slowly got to their feet. The five exchanged a glance.

"Big brother, what do we do now?"

"Big brother, this guy is too strong; we can’t beat him at the moment. Let’s not continue fighting. We’ll come back after we’re better prepared next time," suggested someone.

"Right, once we’re ready, we’ll definitely teach him a lesson and let him know the might of the Blind Mountain Five Tigers!" said Fourth.

The group communicated silently using Divine Thought.

"Yeah, as long as we survive, there’s hope!"

"This time, let’s just let it go... ready... run!" the leader simultaneously used Divine Thought to transmit to the other four.

"Whoosh!" The five immediately bolted for an escape, with the leader’s chubby body moving at the fastest speed.

Jing Yan watched the five of them turn and flee, and he was momentarily stunned.

"Pfft!" The leader’s body crashed directly into a crevice in the rock wall.

The result was that he got stuck there again. The other four were dumbfounded.

In their rush to escape, they had forgotten that the crevice was too narrow for all of them to rush out at once.

Jing Yan and Mei Qing caught up and, upon witnessing the scene, were similarly amused.

Jing Yan extended a hand and yanked the leader of the Blind Mountain Five Tigers out of the crevice.

"Damn it, why is this crevice so small?" the leader fumed.

"Big brother, you need to lose weight," Lao Wu muttered quietly.

"Shut it!" the leader snapped.

"Big brother, we’ve been caught again!" the third brother cried.

"Were you all trying to escape?" Jing Yan asked, frowning.

"Sir, you’re mistaken, we weren’t trying to run, rather..." the leader quickly forced a smile.

"Rather what?" Jing Yan squinted his eyes.

"..." For a moment, they seemed at a loss as to how to explain their previous actions.

"Alright, I’m not going to kill you all. However, I can’t just let you go that easily either. You first offended me; if I don’t teach you a lesson, won’t I lose face?" Jing Yan considered, then added, "Hand over your Divine Crystals! Remember, all of them. If I find out you’re hoarding even a single one, don’t blame me for getting rude."

Jing Yan released a fierce wave of Divine Power.

The Blind Mountain Five Tigers exchanged another frightened glance.

"Big brother, hand the Divine Crystals to this master!" said the Second.

"To have the master want our Divine Crystals is an honor!" the third brother added.

"Divine Crystals and what-not are just things. Since the master needs them, what reason do we have to refuse?" Lao Wu said with a dramatic tone.

The leader of the Blind Mountain Five Tigers quickly produced a Sumeru Ring and presented it with both hands to Jing Yan.

"Master, all our Divine Crystals are in here," the leader said with tears in his eyes.

"All the Divine Crystals we have, our big brother keeps," Fourth quickly added.

Jing Yan accepted the Sumeru Ring, checked it, and couldn’t help but smile. These peculiar five weren’t short on Divine Crystals at all; inside the Sumeru Ring were over twenty thousand Tier-1 Divine Crystals. They had used up fifty thousand to register for the selection, otherwise, there would be even more.
