The Twisted Obsession-Chapter 334: Christmas together
Chapter 334: Christmas together
The snow outside continued to fall softly, painting the world in a winter wonderland as Remo glanced over at Abby. She was standing by the Christmas tree, her eyes sparkling in the soft glow of the lights. Her cheeks were rosy from the warmth of the fire, and she looked more beautiful than ever.
"You’re staring," Abby said, catching his gaze, a playful smirk tugging at the corner of her lips.
Remo shrugged, leaning against the doorframe with his arms crossed, a half-smile on his face. "Can’t help it. You’re impossible to look away from."
Abby rolled her eyes, but the blush on her cheeks deepened. She crossed the room, her steps light and graceful as she approached him. "Well, it’s Christmas," she said, lifting a brow. "Aren’t you supposed to be helping me, instead of just standing there looking all broody?"
He chuckled softly, reaching out to pull her into his arms. "Broody, huh?" His voice lowered, teasing. "I’m just appreciating my present."
She laughed, swatting at his chest playfully, but didn’t pull away. "I haven’t given you a present yet."
"Oh?" His eyes sparkled with mischief. "Then I must be wrong. Maybe you’re my gift."
Abby’s laughter filled the room, the sound warming him more than the fire ever could. "I thought the tough mafia boss wasn’t into Christmas."
"I wasn’t," he murmured, leaning closer to brush his lips against her temple, "until you."
Her heart fluttered at his words, and she looked up at him, her smile softening into something more tender. "You’re just saying that to get out of helping me decorate."
"I’ve done my part." He gestured to the beautifully lit tree behind her, which he had spent an hour putting together under her direction. "You’re the one who insisted on making the house look like a holiday movie set."
"I like the lights," Abby said, her voice suddenly soft, the playful mood turning more sentimental. "It makes everything feel... warm. Like home."
Remo’s expression softened at her words. Home. That’s what this was now, because she was here.
"Speaking of presents," Abby suddenly said, pulling back with a grin, "you go first. You’ll love what I got you."
He raised an eyebrow. "You’re that confident, huh?"
She practically skipped over to the tree, retrieving a small, neatly wrapped gift from beneath it. She handed it to him, her eyes wide with excitement.
"Open it!" she said, bouncing slightly on her toes. "I’ve been waiting all day to see your reaction."
Remo shook his head, chuckling at her enthusiasm as he sat down on the couch, carefully unwrapping the gift. Inside the box was a sleek black leather wallet with his initials subtly embossed in gold on the corner.
"It’s... a wallet," he said slowly, turning it over in his hands, his lips quirking up. "I needed one."
"Not just any wallet," Abby said, sitting down beside him and watching him closely. "Check inside."
Remo raised an eyebrow, opening the wallet. Tucked into one of the card slots was a small, folded piece of paper. He pulled it out, unfolding it slowly.
It was a handwritten note, and his heart clenched as he read it.
You’ve given me everything I never thought I’d have. This is just a little reminder that no matter where you go, you’ll always have me.
He looked up at her, his throat tightening slightly. "Abby..."
"I wanted to give you something personal," she said quietly, her eyes searching his. "Something that... reminded you of us."
Remo set the wallet down, pulling her close into his arms without a word. He kissed the top of her head, holding her tightly. "It’s perfect," he murmured against her hair. "Thank you."
Abby pulled back slightly, her smile soft but teasing as she said, "Now, I expect something equally thoughtful from you, Mr. Mafia Boss."
He smirked, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a small velvet box. Abby’s eyes widened, her breath catching in her throat as she stared at it.
"Is that...?"
"Open it," Remo said, his voice low and steady, though there was a hint of nervousness in his eyes.
With trembling fingers, Abby took the box from him and opened it to reveal a delicate silver bracelet, adorned with small diamonds that shimmered in the firelight.
"Oh, Remo..." she breathed, her voice barely above a whisper.
"I wanted you to have something special," he said softly, taking the bracelet from the box and fastening it around her wrist. "Something that always reminds you that you’re mine. And I’m yours."
Abby looked up at him, her eyes brimming with tears of happiness. "It’s beautiful," she whispered, unable to stop the emotions that were welling up inside her. "I love it."
"Good," Remo said, his hand brushing her cheek. "Because I plan on getting you a lot more where that came from."
Abby let out a watery laugh, wiping at her eyes. "You’re spoiling me."
"I like spoiling you," he admitted, leaning in to kiss her softly. "You deserve it."
She melted into the kiss, her heart full and warm, before pulling back slightly, her eyes twinkling mischievously. "You know what would make this even better?"
Remo raised an eyebrow. "What’s that?"
Abby stood up, grabbing his hand and pulling him to his feet. "A dance."
"A dance?" Remo asked, clearly amused.
"Yes," Abby said, a playful grin spreading across her face. "It’s Christmas. Dance with me."
He chuckled, allowing her to pull him into the center of the room. The soft holiday music played in the background as she wrapped her arms around his neck, swaying them gently to the rhythm.
"I didn’t know you were the dancing type," he teased, holding her close.
"I’m not," she admitted, resting her head against his chest. "But I wanted to dance with you, just once, like this."
Remo’s arms tightened around her, his chin resting on top of her head as they moved together. "Well," he murmured, "then we’ll dance. As long as you want."
They swayed together for a while, the world outside forgotten as they held onto each other. There was no chaos, no past haunting them—just this moment, full of warmth and love.
Abby looked up at him, smiling softly. "Merry Christmas, Remo."
He smiled down at her, his heart full. "Merry Christmas, Abby."
And as the fire crackled beside them and the snow fell gently outside, they knew that this was just the beginning of a lifetime of moments like this—together.
