The Unveiling of Secret Queen-Chapter 1735: The Empty House Takes Some Getting Used To
The lunch ended shortly after it began.
After lunch, Nathalie Quinlan returned to Rhine alone.
Amadeus Yancey and Alfred Garland were not there.
The house was empty and unusually quiet.
Nathalie went to her place, put her stuff down, took a shower in the room, changed into casual home clothes, then went downstairs to the living room and opened the fridge to take out a bottle of water.
She casually closed the fridge door and walked to the living room sofa to sit down.
Nathalie found a comfortable pose, put the water aside, and lazily opened the laptop to login.
She just logged into WhatsApp.
In no time, a message from Sadam Vinson popped up.
His messages are quite timely.
Nathalie clicked open to see Sadam asking her.
[Nathalie, are you back?]
Nathalie propped her hand, her eyebrows and eyes low, her raven-black lashes coming down to cover her beautiful pupils, as she sat cross-legged on the sofa, lazily editing a message back.
[QN: Just arrived.]
Nathalie just sent the message.
She hadn’t had time to open the Red Alliance software.
The next moment, Sadam’s game invitation was sent.
[You’re back just in time. We’re one short for a five-man team. Come play the game! (*^▽^*)]
Nathalie: ...
She propped her hand on her chin, leaned back, and hadn’t replied to his message.
Sadam’s urging WhatsApp message came right over.
[Nathalie, why aren’t you in yet?]
[Just one short of five, only missing you to start.]
[Hurry up, waiting for you.]
Nathalie skimmed through his barrage of WhatsApp messages, thought for a moment, and clicked on the team link.
"Nathalie has joined."
As soon as she entered, she heard Sadam’s voice in the game chat, urging full of energy: "Govert, start start. Watch me carry!"
Sadam wants to carry in the game?
Nathalie raised an eyebrow, opened the game’s voice chat, but didn’t speak.
Five spots on the team were all filled with her.
She heard a light laugh, followed by Govert’s voice: "Mr. Vinson, better not think about carrying, just play support for Ms. Quinlan and we might win."
Then came a charming female voice: "Exactly, Mr. Vinson, better not carry. If you hadn’t tried to carry in the last two rounds, we wouldn’t have been eliminated first. Isn’t laying back better? I’m already ready to relax and wait for Nathalie the Goddess to lead us!"
Nathalie didn’t immediately recognize whose voice it was, just that it sounded familiar.
Until Sadam grumbled back at the playful teasing of the two: "Oh, come on, you guys don’t believe me?! Govert is one thing, but Nadya, don’t learn from him. Just wait for me to carry you later."
Ah, Nadya Tucker.
Nathalie’s mind conjured a blurry figure, vaguely knowing it’s someone from the group who plays well with Sadam, had dinner together before.
Another person was there too, but clearly spoke less, more reserved compared to Govert and Nadya, trying to keep up with the three in conversation.
Nathalie held her phone with one hand, while the other operated the computer mouse to first login to the Red Alliance software, then leaned back, casually asking: "Are we starting?"
If not, she’d go check some stuff.
"Start, start, start!" As soon as she finished speaking, Sadam immediately urged Govert: "Nathalie is here, what are you guys waiting for, start."
Govert clicked ready.
Nathalie’s side showed the game was matching.
Her eyes were slightly weary as she spoke to Sadam: "I’m just playing one game, will log off after it, find someone else to fill my spot later."
