Chapter 50: 50. Hangover

Mauve felt cold fingers trail her body and a moan escaped her lips. The fingers moved from her stomach to her chest and fondled the fruits. She arched her back and her lips parted.

They teased the tips slightly pinching them. Mauve was getting frantic. The finger left her chest and trailed downwards to her waist and even lower. The fingers jumped to her thighs but slowly started the trip back up.

Mauve jerked awake to loud banging. She groaned and sat upright wondering who could be making such loud noises. She closed her eyes and rubbed them as she tried to wake herself up.

The noise felt like someone was hammering a nail inside her head and that was when Mauve realized the sound was indeed inside her head.

The source of this c𝓸ntent is frёeweɓηovel.coɱ.

Mauve touched her temples, she could swear that her head was about to split. She immediately laid back down as she tried to rest her head with the hope that not moving it would make it better. However, the difference wasn't exceptional.

Mauve felt water in the corner of her eyes at the pain. She winced as she waited for the pain to pass. Mauve could swear that she was dying. She stayed in that position for quite some time and the pain subsided even more but Mauve was afraid of moving.

She was still in that position with her eyes closed when Vae found her almost a full hour later. "Princess, are you okay?" Vae cried and rushed to her side.

"My head, Vae. It feels as though it is going to split."

"Oh princess, it must be the drinking."

Mauve stared daggers at Vae, "Don't make it sound like I chugged an entire barrel." She yelled.

Mauve groaned and grabbed her head tighter, the outburst had increased her headache. "Vae," she cried. "Do something."

"I don't know princess, I don't think there would be herbs in this castle. The only thing I can say is, you should stay in bed, I'll bring you warm soup. That should help a little."

"Why are you so sure about the herbs?"

"Vampires don't get sick, remember."

"Ask please, I'll take anything to ease the pain."

"Okay," Vae said and cleared her throat. "You might want to cover yourself, princess."

Mauve frowned, "Cover myself? Whatever do you mean Vae? I do not have the energy to process your words."

Vae's hands did some incoherent signs across her chest.

"What?" Mauve yelled.

Vae's face fell and she pointed to Mauve's chest. "Look down, princess."

Mauve frowned but her eyes looked downward. Her eyes widened and she immediately pulled the sheets all over herself. "Why am I naked?" She exclaimed.

Vae frowned, she did not bother to hide her annoyance. "You don't remember?"

"No," Mauve mumbled. She was holding her head again.

"What is the last thing you remember?"

Mauve frowned as she tried to think. "Could we worry about this later? I really need something for my head, Vae."

"Alright, princess. I will go see what I can find."

Mauve groaned in response and closed her eyes. For some reason, it hurt to open her eyes. She lay unmoving with her eyes closed until Vae returned.

"Would you like to have your bath first?" Vae asked.

"Vae," Mauve said. "Your questions aren't helping me here. Either you have solutions or leave me be."

"My apologies princess. Your bath will be ready soon and Mill is preparing something warm for you to drink. As for herbs…" Vae's face fell. "I could not find anything."

"Okay, please do not speak to me unless it is necessary. Every sound makes my head want to explode."

"As you wish."

Some time passed and Mauve wasn't sure if Vae was still in the room but she didn't want to open her eyes to check. She rolled and groaned at the pain.

Suddenly, she heard a knock and buried her entire body under the sheets. She didn't hear a sound until the tub was placed on the ground. This wasn't unusual as vampires barely had any sounds to their footsteps. She found this creepy.

"I…" She heard the vampire start to say.

"The princess is awake and doesn't want to be disturbed." Vae blurted.

"Her soup will be ready in a couple of minutes."

"Thank you," Vae said and the door clicked shut.

"Princess," Vae heard her say. "Your bath water is ready."

Mauve slowly slipped out of the sheets and off the bed. She staggered as her feet touched the ground and Vae held her. Mauve still had her hands to her head as they walked to the tub.

She plopped into the tub, a bit of water slipped out of it and poured onto the carpet. Mauve felt a little better as her body touched the warm water. She sighed in satisfaction, her head was better but her body was.

She stayed unmoving as Vae washed her clean and was happy when the maid said she was down. She didn't like moving around but she preferred lying on her bed.

Vae quickly dried her up and dressed her in something comfortable. Mauve sat on the edge of the bed and Vae picked up the brush.

"No," she said sternly.

"But princess, your hair is a mess."

"Vae if you dare comb my hair, you won't forgive me for what I would do."

"I understand princess but if you don't comb it now, it will be harder to comb out later."

"So be it, Vae. I just want to lie down and be left alone, please. It is a hassle to keep up with this conversation. It feels like someone keeps poking my head with pins, now imagine what would happen if you try to comb it."

"I apologize, princess, I shouldn't have insisted. Your appearance can wait."

Mauve rolled into bed, she was in no mood to keep up the conversation. She truly felt like she was dying. Whereas Vae wasn't taking her seriously.

"Your hair isn't completely dry," she heard Vae, and Mauve ignored her. "It will pass soon enough, princess, it is just the aftermath of drinking. It is probably this bad because it's your first time."

Mauve groaned in response, she didn't want it to pass soon, she wanted it to pass now.
