The Villainess Married The Evil CEO-Chapter 131: Rebecca
The moment Abigail entered the small living room, the director noticed her and motioned for the woman to come forward. Susan was currently checking out the cameras around the place for the shoot as she talked constantly to the technicians.
"Olivia, good that you’re here." The man nodded at the technician and turned toward Abigail, saying, "Here’s your script. I assume you have read the novel, right?"
Abigail nodded, without speaking a single word.
"Good." Susan was extremely satisfied with this kind of actress working under her, obedient and hardworking. "Read this and just look around for now. Just look at the actors and actresses working on the set for today to get a gist of what they do and how."
Abigail nodded again, taking the script. She wasn’t interested in reading her script first because she knew how she would have to play. She was mostly interested in seeing how the female lead would appear.
After thinking of Rebecca Abigail became excited at once. This was the first friend she made ever since she entered this world. Sure, she had Katherine and Anne, but they were already the friends of this body, not her. The only person she could call her personal friend was Rebecca.
Of course, she was still getting this intuition that she shouldn’t fully trust the woman, but what of it? She was already in danger. Someone was lurking behind them with a sharp sword, ready to cut her down any minute. Wasn’t it better to have as many people as she could around her?
Even if Rebecca was really involved, it would be even better! At least, Abigail could keep the villain around for she to notice every single thing the woman would do.
Thus, her befriending the woman was a better choice for both worlds.
Thus, as she was standing at the corner, Rebecca finally entered with an assistant following behind her, carrying the woman’s coat and a drink at hand. Rebecca had been fully dressed up as she put down her sunglasses. She immediately headed toward Susan.
"Let’s start." Then she turned toward Abigail, smiling, "You’re here too?"
"Yes." Abigail controlled a bit of her excitement as she nodded. "I’m here to get some experience."
"Good. I have played a few shows myself."
Thus, they slowly started to play the scene. The first shot that Rebecca took became an NG, and the next, it also turned out the same, and the next, and next....
It continued on for ten more times. By this time, Abigail herself visualized in her head how to play the role and got frustrated.
Is this how an experienced actress plays a role these days?! Sigh, she felt terribly sorry for Rebecca. The woman gave off a mysterious vibe for sure, but her acting skills were down in the drains. How could this girl be selected for this role?!
The role was simple. The female lead had to run on the treadmill for a few seconds, but now, she had already been running for the past five minutes and her body sweated terribly. Now, she didn’t even have to apply fake sweat on her body for the scene.
The more Rebecca NGed, the more frustrated Abigail became. On the side, the men were already working on their laptops, not even talking to her. Not that they could open their mouths when everyone was silently watching the show.
Finally, when it was the 15th time, Abigail finally walked over and forcibly put her hand on the treadmill, glaring at Rebecca and then glaring at Susan. "What the heck are you guys even trying to do?!"
The corner of the director’s mouth twitched a bit.
At this time, Asher finally realized something had happened as he raised his head and glanced at the lady who was standing beside him not too long ago. He tilted his head in confusion.
Did something happen again to make Abigail feel irritated?
Nicholas, however, didn’t care a bit and continued to act as if nothing happened. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
On the side, Susan finally reacted after seeing the young woman becoming irritated. She walked over and patted Abigail’s shoulder. "Girl, this is your first time attending the shoot. Fifteen or even twenty NGs are extremely normal. We have to make even the micro emotions perfect."
Abigail understood that certainly she did, but don’t you think this is too difficult?! How can a person make even their micro-expressions perfect until they are that person?!
Seeing her expression turning worse, Susan put the file in her hand aside and pulled Abigail outside. Once she was outside everyone’s earshot, she whispered, "Actually, Rebecca used to be good, but her recent show wasn’t up to the mark.
"Of course, I still hired her thinking it was her bad luck, but who knew she had really degraded? Or perhaps, she was never that good to begin with. Her only good luck was probably being hired by capable directors."
Abigail pursed her lips. Although she knew this industry was difficult, she didn’t think much about it. Now, she felt Rebecca’s situation was a bit pitiful...
"Well, can’t you help her?"
"I’m helping her by letting her slowly figure out how her performance isn’t up to the mark." Susan winked at the young woman beside her and said, "The more she practices during the NGs, the more she will grow and become a better actress, right?"
Abigail nodded. So it turns out. Susan was getting Rebecca to NG on purpose to help her out! This kind of director was better than her imagination!
Now she was even more pumped up to give her own performance!
Behind them, they didn’t see that a young woman full of sweat was currently leaning against the treadmill, staring at the two people standing outside with a narrowed gaze. A shallow, fleeting smile formed on her lips as she pulled back her hair and sighed.
Eh? Aren’t the two of them getting too close? It was starting to irritate her.
The next moment, as her eyes were starting to darken, Susan finally let go of Abigail and backed away, patting the woman’s shoulder like some friend. Only then did Rebecca avert her eyes and return to normal.
This time, the director was saved. At least, in front of her, no one was allowed to touch Abigail’s body. That was for the best of everyone.
