Chapter 141: Who Is He?

Abigail was thoroughly and utterly bored. She realized for the first time what kind of gruesome work her husband would usually do on a daily basis.

Those old farts actually managed to make her sleep the entire time by their boring lectures! She couldn’t even understand a single thing despite them talking about a movie!

All they spoke about was graphs, ratings, reviews, and other technical details. Most of their words went above their head, and after five minutes into the meeting Abigail dozed off, leaning against her husband’s shoulder, sleeping like some pig. In fact, she really didn’t care about her image, and she dared to sleep in front of everyone.

Of course, being the wife of the biggest shareholder of the company, she had the say. So even if she fell asleep bluntly, others couldn’t say a single word and could only grit their teeths.

It was only when the meeting ended did she relaxed, but her boring time hadn’t ended yet. There was even a press conference after that. It was way more boring than that.

The reporters kept on asking for technical details about the movie, and some of them even tried to ask about her, but Nicholas smartly changed the topic to the movie and refused to give them a single word about her.

Sure, Abigail wasn’t sitting next to Nicholas at that time during the conference, but they still managed to ask a few questions about her for sure.

While they talked, she sat in a room, trying her best to see the live press conference on the TV, but soon, even she didn’t realize when she fell asleep. It was only when the conference ended that she was woken up by Nicholas, who only asked her to follow him out.

It was already time to head to the premier venue.

Thus, she dazedly stood up and dragged her feet outside, not wanting even to watch the movie. She would probably go to the theatres and sleep against Nicholas’s shoulders. He wouldn’t mind it, right?

As she was thinking about it, she suddenly noticed a very, extremely familiar face in the lobby, heading toward the receptionist with his bag. Her eyes widened as she saw the man.

Hadn’t he said he would tell her when coming?! How come he was here so soon?!

Before she could think about it, her mouth had already opened and called him out, "Doctor Owen!!! You’re here already?!"

She saw the man slowly turning to face her as she let go of Nicholas’s hand and rushed over excitedly.

"Owen, you didn’t tell me you were going to come!"

At this time, both men had colorful expressions on their faces.

Nicholas turned back only to see his wife meeting an unfamiliar, handsome man who could rival even him in terms of looks. His entire face turned black as he glared at the man.

On the other side, Owen felt the corner of his lips twitching as he took a deep breath and said, "Hello, Mrs. Harrison." Then he turned toward Nicholas and tried his best to give the man a professional smile. "Hello Mr. Nicholas."

Hearing the man calling his wife Mrs. Harrison, Nicholas relaxed a bit, but his heart remained vigilant toward this young man. He narrowed his eyes and nodded at the man.

At least this person had a clear stance, unlike Asher. So he shrugged it off. But even then, his vigilance didn’t disappear even a single bit. His heart was still wary of this person.

His eyes squinted, and he asked, "Who is he, Abigail?"

That’s when Abigail realized she blurted out something she shouldn’t have.

Damn it! She shouldn’t have spoken the doctor’s name! In her husband’s eyes, the psychiatrist she saw was an ordinary, middle-aged man, not an adult as handsome as Owen!

Ah, how should she clear her name?! Would her husband believe her if she said she was tricking him?!

No, he would only consider her a cheater if she revealed he was her doctor! She should cover it up fast!

Before she could even speak a word, Owen answered it for her. "I’m her psychiatrist, recently shifted to this country for the next couple of months."

"Oh?" Nicholas’s eyebrows rose as he glanced at his wife on the side. His expression was unfathomable, but his aura suddenly turned colder, making Abigail shiver.

The woman shifted herself slightly back as she coughed, "Yes. He’s my doctor."

"Ah, so this is what a middle-aged man looks like." Nicholas felt a trace of fire burning in his heart as he nodded at the man, still trying his best to suppress the burst of anger in his heart. "We will see you later, doctor. I’ll make sure to visit you with her."

Owen felt slightly off upon seeing the man’s reaction. But when he thought of his words, he instantly understood. He glanced at the embarrassed Abigail standing beside him and found it funny. He didn’t know why he wanted to laugh at her.

Such a stupid girl.

He shook his head and said, "It’d be better if you can visit. I’ve told her several times to visit with you."

If he can curb this young woman, then why not? She was bipolar, and being her husband, it was clearly Nicholas’s duty to take better care of her. Since this woman was prone to moving her heart to and fro like this, it would be better if she visited with Nicholas.

At the very least, he would make his stance clear in front of the man that he had no interest in this woman. First, she was his patient. And even if even he felt slightly different in his heart, even if he inclined towards this woman even a little, it was merely because of that damned novel.

Maybe he should stop reading it altogether. In any case, his purpose of reading that novel was to get to know his patient better, which he did.

"Really?" Nicholas’s aura slightly calmed down as he nodded at the doctor. In his eyes, the image of this doctor improved, but at the same time, his wife started to irritate him.

She was his wife, clearly. She should focus only on him, not on other people. Her habit of attracting attention and buzzing around handsome flowers still hadn’t changed.

Seeing that Nicholas’s expression was worsening, Abigail finally cleared her throat and said, "Doctor, we will see you later!"

Ugh, she was so embarrassed that she not only wanted to bury herself into a hole, but she also wanted to nail herself inside a coffin, never to come out and see the light!
