The Web of Knightspur-Chapter 217 - 215
Princess Eleanor walked towards her room. There was silence in the corridor. π³ππ²ππ¨ππ―πππ§ππΉ.π°πΌπ
As soon as she entered the room, Princess Eleanor smiled as she turned around, "Nia, what do you think about Arlo? Do you think he can hold it in?"
Nia who had closed the door was shocked when she heard her name being called out. But what shocked her more was the words that were said.
Nia was silent as she closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "Prince Arlo?"
Princess Eleanor nodded her head. Her eyes looked straight into Niaβs eyes as she quirked her lips. "I want to understand it from your point of view. Do you think that he will be alright here if I go to the Royal palace?"
Nia sighed. She could see that the Princess was worried about her brother. To be honest, so was she. Nia knew that she had to be cautious of her words. Princess Eleanor has to go to the Royal palace to exact her revenge. The situation was just right and all she needed to do was take a leap.
Nia feared that if Princess Eleanor did not take the chance now, maybe things would be more difficult in the future. Who knows when the chance will arrive next.
"Princess..." Nia walked towards Princess Eleanor and she held her hand. She walked towards the bed and she made her sit on the bed. Nia sat down on the floor as she looked up at the Princess with dull eyes.
"Princess, are you worried that Prince Arlo will not be happy here?" Niaβs tone was soft as she looked at the Princess, "Or are you worried that he will feel alone?"
"He will feel alone, Nia. And that will lead to unhappiness." Princess Eleanor said in a straight tone. "The thing I have understood by his words is that he is used to having people around him. But he lacks love. He wants someone to show that care and support to him. Someone who will sit beside him and listen. Someone who will equally participate." Princess Eleanor said as she smiled.
"He is a child, Nia. A child who was forced to grow up too soon. He had to go through a lot and he has a lot of buried desires too. The wounds that he has on his body are nothing compared to the wounds he has on his soul."
Nia could feel Princess Eleanorβs voice tremble. She knew what Princess Eleanor was getting at. She as a woman was not able to overcome the betrayal from her lover. How could Prince Arlo feel about something that involves his family?
"But the Princess has to enter the Royal palace. You cannot ignore it as well." Nia said in a stiff tone. She knew that her words were right. Such things could not be ignored. Especially when the Emperor had summoned her to the Royal palace.
"I know that. And I also know that Arlo will not stop me, but my heart will be unstable." Princess Eleanor said in a low tone. "I know that Duke Beaumont will not mind it at all, but there are still things that cannot be ignored. I cannot keep on taking his goodwill with open arms and until when?"
"Princess..." Nia understood Princess Eleanorβs words.
"Nia, you donβt understand. Duke Beaumont is someone you and I have talked with. I cannot argue that Sir Kit, Doctor Raul, and Lady Gisella are very understanding and helpful. But they are all under Duke Beaumontβs command. What will happen if he is not satisfied and wants to push Arlo out? What can I do if I am outside at the Royal Palace? How can I help him from afar?"
"It will never happen." A voice came from the window, making both Nia and Princess Eleanor shocked at the intrusion. Their body stiffened as they looked to the side only to see the man with a mask standing near the window.
No one knew when Sir Kit appeared or how much he had heard. But it was clear that he was not happy. He walked toward Princess Eleanor and he stood beside her. "The Princess does not have to worry about it. Prince Arlo is safe here. No one will ever ask the Prince to leave. The Princess should trust me on this."
"Sir Kit," Nia got up from the floor as she looked at the man, but his eyes were only fixed on the Princess as if nothing else mattered to him.
Princess Eleanor bit on her lips as she nodded her head. She could clearly see that Sir Kitβs words were full of trust. As if it was an oath that could not be broken.
"Nia, give us some time." Princess Eleanor said in a soft tone as her eyes stayed on the man. "I need to understand the situation to make a decision."
Nia was silent but soon she nodded her head. There was nothing that she could do at the given moment. It was as clear as day that she had to give them some space. "I will be with Prince Arlo."
Princess Eleanor smiled at Nia. She could see that there was a little worry in her gaze but she still gave her some space.
Soon the door was closed and they were the only ones left in the room. Princess Eleanor took a deep breath as she extended her hand and pulled Sir Kit onto the bed, making him sit beside her. "Why did you come?"
"Because I saw your eyes, Princess. Many unanswered questions were lingering in them and I knew that you would be worried." Sir Kit did not shy away from giving his opinion. It was a clear indication of what he was seeing.
Princess Eleanor leaned on his shoulder as she blinked her eyes. "I was worried." Princess Eleanor said in a small tone. "I do not know what will happen in the future and I am afraid. The people who I thought were my friends are now my biggest enemies. The people I thought would protect me, are the ones who instigated the downfall of my family. My younger brother is injured and in pain because I could not see the reality of my friend and pushed him away. My best friend is heartbroken because I could not prevent her from falling in love with the man who would not mind killing his family for power."
Tears started rolling down Princess Eleanorβs eyes as she tried to control her trembling voice. Sir Kit pulled Princess Eleanor into his arms as he whispered. "It is not your fault, Princess. Do not worry, I will manage everything."
"But..."
Princess Eleanor did not know what to think about anymore. Her mind was in a mess.
"What happened between Duke Felix and Nia is not your fault nor your responsibility. They are both adults. She liked the man and he pretended that he loved her too. You did not know that he was such a person. And in regards to the young Prince, No one would have known that this would happen." Sir Kit said in a determined tone.
"Princess, let me assure you of something else as well." Sir Kit rubbed her eyes as he cupped her face, "In regards to Prince Arlo, you do not have to worry. Let him stay here and get well. Doctor Raul is here, he will make sure that the Prince will be alright."
"I know, but he is still young." Princess Eleanor said in a small tone. "He needs someone he knows to be with him. What will happen if I go to the Royal palace? What if he misses me? What if he misses home?"
Sir Kit was silent as he looked at the distraught Princess. "Do you want to take him with you into the Royal palace?" Sir Kit already knew the answer to his question. He could guess what was in the Princessβs mind. "Princess, let me tell you something. Even if you want to, the situation cannot change now. The Emperor has asked you to enter the Royal palace and you cannot put it off any longer. Nor can you bring the young Prince along."
Princess Eleanor was silent. She knew all of this from the start. She could not do anything for her brother but let him stay here. This was the safest place for him now. "Do you promise to take care of him?"
Sir Kit nodded his head as his thumb rubbed circles on her cheeks, "I will, but you can do something else as well."
Princess Eleanor was silent as she looked up at the man waiting for him to continue. "Let Lady Gisella follow you as your lady-in-waiting, and let Nia stay here. The Prince will be happy to be near people he knows and you will not be burdened as well."
Princess Eleanor blinked her eyes as her thoughts revolved around. "But then...."
"Let the situation take place naturally, Princess. And I will make sure to bring the young Prince to the Royal palace within a few weeks. No one will object to it and I give you my word."
Princess Eleanor bit on her lips before she nodded her head slowly. βMaybe that is the best solution.β
